The Ruins of Wakanda

They had just arrived in the entrance of what looked like a huge structure, something that should've been impossible to remain hidden for so long. Still, it somehow had.

The place looked majestic, like a city of gold. Ad couldn't help but think to himself that the city was older than the Dungeon itself, and that it had been buried under the earth when the latter was born.

Eoghan: How sturdy must the materials be... this must've been buried here for thousands if not millions of years.

Natsuki: It looks like it's made of metal, but I can't tell which metal it is.

Adalwulf: There is no use thinking of these things, we should explore carefully. Who knows what traps and creatures lay here.

As if and order had been given, everyone got back into formation. This time though, Ad was at the front. This was because he could "feel" the layout of the corridors which were wide enough to be considered streets.

After walking for a while, they reached a building of sorts, bigger than the others they had seen. Thye instinctively knew that it was an important place, so they decided to go inside. Carefully, Ad opened the sturdy door and they came to what looked like a library.

Adalwulf: Stay here, I'll check the place from the shadows.

He then dissappeared in a burst of shadow and appeared in between a few of the ailes, each and every single one full of books. Surprisingly, the place was still very well illuminated.

Adalwulf: 'Probably some sort of spell keeps everything so... new'

He quickly checked the entire place and, once he confirmed there were no hostiles, went back to his party. Motioning the inside, he quickly went to the part tagged under "History". He picked a book called "Wakanda" and opened it, once again being surprised at how new the book seemed to be. Almost as if it had never been used.

After reading a few pages, Ad had his eyes shot wide open and his mouth ouching the floor. The story of this place was so rich that he couldn't help but be mesmerized by it.

Adalwulf: Guys! Come here! I found something interesting!

The rest of the Party, hearing their Captain calling them over, quickly made their way to were he was. After he told them about the contents of the book, he began telling them about the history of the place.

Wakanda used to be a country ruled by King T'challa, also known as the Black Panther. It was thanks to their knowledge of blacksmithing and metallurgy that they became one of the richest countries in the entire continent. They were a tight community, always helping each other as much as they could.

The King's sister was a genius among the Wakandans, and she was the one who discovered their biggest weapon and trading material. Vibranium. A metal that could absorb any kind of kinetic energy and, to some extent, even magic.

What surprised the Wakandans the most of this metal, was its symbiotic nature. Most metals couldn't fuse with Vibranium, but those that did could never be split apart again. That was how the city of Wakanda came to be.

The entire place was made of Adamantium, one of the few Vibranium based alloys. It was nicknamed "Indestructible Metal", as they hand't found any way to destroy it. A blade made of Adamantium was destined to last for eternity, and so was the city.

After a decade of peaceful ruling, an illness reached Wakanda. The city, which had been hidden between mountains, was coming to its end. Not even the Kings sister was able to find a cure for said illness, and whatever measure they took was ineffective. In the end, everyone surrendered to their destiny.

T'challa, who didn't want his kingdom's resources to fall in the wrong hands, decided to bury the city under the ground. Most of the population had already perished to the illness, when he was finally able to hide the city with the now destroyed mountains that surrounded it.

His last decree as King, was that only someone worthy of Wakandan trust would be able to take for himself the treasures left behind.

(A/N= I now that this isn't the actual story of Wakanda, but bear with it. I needed to change it so that it would suit the DanMachi world.)

Adalwulf: Well... I guess that we have to keep exploring this place. If we can find the treasury or wherever this alloys are... it would be perfect for us.

Iman: Darling, I found a book titled "Wakandan Metalworking", do you think it is useful?

Everyone turned their eyes to look at the air-headed bimbo and self-declared mate of Ad. They were looking at her as if she was a rare creature. Adalwulf wondered how she seemed to have a better "Luck" than he did. In the end, he simply praised her and took the book into his bag. Whatever it said, he would be selling it to Hephaestus.

After they ahd checked every single corner of the library, they left to explore more of the city. They had only found a few more interesting books. One detailed their rituals and spiritual lives, while the other two were about the Fauna and Flora of the world in those times. Apparently, it had been very different, with way less monsters and more tameable animals. Even plants seemed to be more edible than not.

Once back on the streets of Wakanda, Ad kept guiding them through the place, until they heard a roar. They quickly took cover and hid while Ad looked from the shadows what produced the sound.

He found a group of shadowy looking creatures. Their bodies in the shape of the statue they found in the entrance of the hidden passage, the only difference being the black mist that oozed from their tails, ears and paws.

Back with his party, Ad explained what he had seen.

Keeva: It would seem that they are a sort of protector for the city. We might have to figh them.

Adalwulf: Or perhaps not, in any case, we do have to go throug them. I don't think I can teleport all of you again in any near time.

Eoghan: Well, our road is narrowed down to one, as always. Forward, that is.

Without any second thoughts, everyone made their way out of their hiding spot and confronted the the creatures.

Adalwulf: We...
