1 DanMachi!

God was watching over his many worlds when he noticed yet another anomaly. This time, the world of fiction that his children called "DanMachi" was missing its Core. Knowing full well that the world would disappear if left as is, God immediately began searching for a soul to send over, fixing the problem.

God: *sigh* It hasn't even been that long since I sent the last one over... thank goodness I have so many children. Anyways, I'll keep watching over Akihito, he's been changing a few things this last few days.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Norway, a young teenager was running on a treadmill. His name was Adalwulf Holt, but most people called him Ad or Wulf. He had silvery, grey hair, teal coloured eyes and was very athletic. He had what people called a "swimmer's body", even though he had slightly bigger muscles.

He finished doing the last few minuted of cardio and began stretching, after which he went straight to the gym's showers. He left after saying goodbye to the receptionist, who was a girl in her early twenties. Ad loved to flirt with her.

He was no playboy, and he certainly wasn't a bad person. One could say that Ad had a Hero complex. He couldn't stop himself from meddling in other's problems and try to help solve them. Little did he know that that would be the reason he would die. His biggest problem was that he was extremely flirty.

Outside of the Gym, he saw a little girl and her mother walking. He smiled while observing the scene, as it reminded him of the times before his mother died. That was when his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a speeding truck which seemed to be swaying from lane to lane. Ad then noticed the girl had stopped to pick up a coin.

Wulf: 'If this was a novel, this would be the typical setup for a reincarnation.'

Those were Adalwulf's thoughts as he ran to the girl. Thanks to his regular training, he was able to reach her on time and push her out of the way. He could swear he saw her smile as he was hit by the truck.

Adalwulf: 'Truck-kun, please send me to a good place.'

*

God: Oh! A worthy soul! This one will be perfect for this world.

The first thing Wulf heard as soon as he recovered his senses were those words. He was confused at first, until he remembered what had just happened.

Adalwulf: Excuse me God, shouldn't there be... I don't know, a few Eons of darkness before rebirth? Or reincarnation, I don't know.

God was extremely surprised by the words of the youngster, though it lasted for nothing but a hint of a second. He then felt very amused. At least amused enough to chuckle softly.

God: You have read too many webnovels, Adalwulf.

Adalwulf: Yeah... ha-ha... I might've. Anyways! So... what is next?

God, then proceeded to explain the current situation. He first explained to Ad about the many worlds he had created in his boredom, and how all of them somehow ended up as fiction in Earth. Then he explained that some unknown force (*cough* author *cough*) had been messing with his worlds. Thus his situation. Adalwulf was the force to balance the mess made.

Adalwulf: Wait... I am supposed to stop whatever is messing with those worlds?

God: No, no. Your task is to live in that world and replace it's Core.

Adalwulf's face turned into one of confusion. He could understand everything up to that point. But a world's Core? Was he to stay still in the center of the planet?

God: Hoho, not that kind of Core, my child. Every world, with Earth being the exception, was created with the purpose of showcasing a story. The Core of the world is what makes said story move forward.

Ad then understood it pretty quickly. He could tell which was the Core of a world of fiction. If a world's reason to be was for a story to take place, then the protagonist of said story would be the Core.

Adalwulf: So I am to be a protagonist?

God: Indeed. You certainly made it easier for me to explain.

Adalwulf: So... which world needs a protagonist?

God: I think you will love the world...

Ad could just cross his fingers while praying for it to be DanMachi, his favourite anime world. He loved the diversity, adventure and even the dangers it portrayed. But most of all, he loved the sense of belonging to a Familia. He, after all, had lost his mother and had no father.

God: The world is known as "DanMachi" by most.

Adalwulf: Yes! I-I mean! I s-see, so DanMachi it is...

God: *chuckle* Now, now. I already know it is your favourite among many worlds.

Ad got really embarrassed when he realized God already knew about him being a fan of the series. As soon as he thought of it, he came to an understanding.

Adalwulf: Is that the reason I was chosen?

God: That would be the case, yes.

Adalwulf: I see... thank you for giving me this opportunity.

God: In any case, it should be me who is thanking you. After all, it is you who is solving my predicament.

Ad was slightly taken aback. In front of him was God. The being who created everything. Thanking him for something that was more like a prize than a task. Calming himself down, he asked something relevant to his future.

Adalwulf: So... what is going to be next?

God: Before sending you over, as a boon, you get a few wishes. Say... four.

Ad had to think about it for quite some time. He wanted useful powers but also wanted them to be cool. He in the end decided to ask God a few of things, before stating the wishes he had come up with. In case he had to change some later.

Adalwulf: Will my appearance be random, the same as Bell's or my own?

God: You could change it or simply keep your own. No wishes consumed on either option.

Adalwulf: Do I get Bell's skills?

God: No. Innate Skills, such as Liaris Freese, are related to the soul. Thus, you will have your own.

Adalwulf: If I want the story to begin when I am sixteen, instead of fourteen, would that be too much?

God: It is an easy to solve problem. In fact, I'll make it so that you are seventeen.

Adalwulf: Thank you very much. Then I will ask for the following wishes.

The wishes in turn were something like this.

·First, something similar to Liaris Freese, that would allow him to go beyond S in his Basic Abilities.

·The second wish is a skill akin to the Devil Trigger from DMC. he wanted the skill to be related to Shadows and to change his clothing and appearance. Only slightly, though.

·Third was... the ability to be an Empath, capable of perceiving and transmiting emotions. He felt like it would be an incredibly useful skill in DanMachi.

·And lastly, he asked for the ability to learn things quickly. Not Instant Mastery, just a higher talent than most when related to Development Skills and Magics.

God: Those are some interesting wishes... very in tune with the world you are going to, in fact. Not extremely powerful, but powerful enough that if you work hard enough, you would be one of the most powerful adventurers in the world.

Adalwulf: Thank you for the praise. I did spend the last three hours thinking about it.

Ad laughed nervously when he realized he had kept God waiting for at least three hours while he pondered which would be the most "chuuni", yet "useful", and at the same time "powerful" skills that he could think of. And all of that without simply breaking the world's balance.

He now had one last doubt and worry about his mission in this world. Since he was there to replace Bell, would he have to follow every action of his? He simply decided to ask God, since he would accept anyways.

God: No. Bell is no longer. The only Core of this world, and the story it is destined to showcase from this day onwards, is that of Adalwulf Blågrønn. Your, my child.

Adalwulf was beaming in happiness, knowing he didn't have to follow every action the clumsy Bell took. He didn't have anything against the kid, but it would be a huge problem, having to act so airheaded and dense at the same time.

Adalwulf: Well... I'm ready to go.

God: Well my child... I hope you have a wondrous life, and may you create a story worthy of legend.

Adalwulf: I'll make you proud... dad *chuckle*

God laughed merrily at being called dad. He loved it when his children recognized him as the father who gave life to them.

God: Goodbye, Adalwulf.

---------------------------------------------

Yaaaaay! So... How do you like it?

I made sure that people wouldn't complain about the wishes, though I am sure a lot of people will complain A LOT about them anyways.

Also, before anyone asks: His stats grow faster than most because of his talent wish, which makes it so that he grows faster in many things. This was a tweak made by God. He didn't just "make him talented". He made his mind, body and soul talented, which means he has a higher capacity to awaken skills, magic and become physically stronger with relative ease. This also causes him to absorb more excellia!
