Last Clash

"..."

Kai's entire body tensed as he prepared to dash toward the monster for the last time. He either defeats the Leviathan in the next clash or he will retreat.

Although his pride would be hurt, Kai knew that his survival was paramount.

He didn't plan on dying only one year after going back to the past. It was simply too wasteful to throw away the second chance he had been given.

'Come on, lizard...'

Feeling dread filling his heart, Kai tightened his grip on his weapon and took a deep breath.

Crunch...

Kai's boots crunched in the icy snow as he sprinted towards the Leviathan. The frigid air cut through his lungs, but the adrenaline coursing through his veins kept him going. The cobalt spear glinted in his hands, its edges worn and chipped from the relentless battle.

The Leviathan, sensing Kai's renewed assault, roared defiantly. Its massive form shifted, scales glistening in the wintry landscape. The lake monster, though wounded, still possessed a formidable presence that sent shivers down Kai's spine.

Swish...

The Leviathan's tail swung with tremendous force, aiming to crush Kai under its sheer power. In response, Kai ducked and rolled, narrowly avoiding the lethal arc of the monstrous appendage. The tail swept through the air, leaving behind a trail of displaced snow.

Kai, undeterred, sprang back to his feet. His breath hung in the air like a frosty mist as he closed the gap between himself and the Leviathan. Every step felt like an eternity, the frozen ground beneath him threatening to betray his balance.

The Leviathan, sensing Kai's approach, unleashed another torrent of water from its gaping maw. The pressurized stream shot towards Kai like an arrow, but he deftly sidestepped, letting the icy blast crash into the snowy landscape behind him.

As the Leviathan's attack subsided, Kai seized the opportunity. With a burst of speed, he closed the remaining distance and thrust his spear towards the monster's neck.

[ Prime Thrust ]

The cobalt spear pierced the air with deadly precision, aiming for the weakened spot Kai had discovered earlier. The Leviathan, caught off guard, attempted to twist away, but Kai's strike found its mark. The tip of the spear sank into the monster's flesh once again, eliciting a roar of pain.

Blood spurted from the fresh wound, painting the white snow in shades of crimson. Kai, relentless, gritted his teeth and twisted the spear embedded in the Leviathan's neck, widening the gash. The monster writhed and thrashed, its once-majestic form now marred by agony.

[ Prime Thrust ]

Kai, fueled by determination, refused to let go. He maintained his grip on the spear, using the monster's own movements against it. The Leviathan's attempts to shake him off only intensified Kai's assault, the cobalt spear cutting through scales and flesh with each calculated movement.

The snowy battlefield became a chaotic dance of blood and snow. Kai and the Leviathan were locked in a deadly embrace, the outcome hanging in the balance.

Roar...

The Leviathan, pushed to its limits, unleashed a thunderous roar that echoed through the icy landscape. Its remaining strength surged, and with a final desperate effort, it summoned a burst of energy.

Mana, the life force within the creature, surged in a last-ditch attempt to heal its wounds. Kai felt the power emanating from the Leviathan's body, a surge of energy that threatened to tip the scales in the monster's favor.

Not willing to let victory slip away, Kai intensified his assault. The cobalt spear became a blur as he thrust and twisted, determined to exploit the creature's vulnerability before it could fully regenerate.

[ Prime thrust ]

With a primal yell, Kai poured every ounce of strength into one last thrust. The cobalt spear pierced through the Leviathan's neck with relentless force, reaching deep into its core. The monster convulsed, its roar turning into a guttural cry of defeat.

Pluck...

The sound of tearing flesh echoed in the snowy expanse as Kai's spear ripped through the Leviathan's neck. A geyser of blood erupted, painting the surroundings in a macabre display of victory.

As the Leviathan's gargantuan form collapsed onto the snowy ground, Kai stood panting, covered in a mixture of blood and snow. The battle had taken its toll, but victory was his.

Breathing heavily, Kai surveyed the aftermath. The once-majestic Leviathan lay defeated, its scales dulled, and its eyes glazed over. The frigid air seemed to still as the echoes of battle faded away.

"I've won you fucking bitch."

An abyss-black raven was perched onto a tree watching the scene unfold below. Its azure eyes observed a young man standing before a massive monster, covered in blood and snow.

The man's face was completely covered in blood, his ocean-blue eyes gleaming with a dangerous light.

"..."

The raven perked its head with slight interest, its beady eyes fixed on the man's face.

Krank... Krank...

Slightly nodding its beak, the raven cawed twice before taking flight, disappearing into the wintry sky.

Its eyes held a slight amusement within them.
