41 FINALLY, THE SWORD

Li Jie continued driving in the narrow street with his eyes full of determination to find the other part of the sword. As he continued driving, the narrow street merged into a much broader road.

Li Jie immediately stepped on the brakes as he saw the light shining on his wrist which was almost blinding him. He took a moment to look around the area.

The market area should be full of people and noise but the moment the car crossed the threshold of the broader road, all the noises around him cancelled out.

Li Jie stepped out of his car to analyse the situation. The instant he stepped out of the car, he was hit by a strong force. If not for his fast reflexes he would have easily knocked down by the sheer amount of force.

Li Jie leaned towards his car and took a brief moment to stabilize himself and regulate his breathing.

After regulating his breathing, he stood up while expecting to face the force once more but unexpectedly nothing happened. He straightened himself and walked around the area but he found nothing.

He looked towards the direction from where he came but he could not see the end of the road. He turned his head and looked ahead and faced the same situation, neither could see the beginning nor the end of the road.

Li Jie was stupified, facing this never ending like situation.

Just when he was thinking about how to solve this situation. The sword on his wrist started vibrating in a high speed as if trying to break free from the back of Li Jie's hand. The red gems on his hand, shining brighter than ever.

Li Jie immediately touched the back of his hand to retrieve the sword.

The sword appeared in his hand in all its glory and instantly shot forward like an arrow.

Li Jie ran after the sword which was flying at a speed which could not be seen by naked eye, he could only chase after the sword because of his enhanced speed.

The sword was flying straight towards it's target and it's speed was only increasing by time even Li Jie was exhausted which should not be possible considering his enhanced abilities and stamina.

Li Jie ran after the sword without stopping. One could hear his ragged breathing but he clenched his teeth and ran after the sword. He suddenly had a bad premonition and as he thought he could no longer see his car. He had thought that he could ask Ying Ying about this situation but he could no longer rely on that idea and just when he was about to faint from all the running, the sword suddenly dropped on the ground.

Li Jie also stopped at once and took some deep breaths trying to regulate his energy. The sword was no longer fidgeting.

Li Jie looked at the resting sword with a deep look in his eyes. He tried to feel the sword energy in it but he could no longer feel the sword energy.

Li Jie stooped down and picked the sword and looked at the flickering red light near the hilt, indicating the end of the sword.

Li Jie was flustered by the sudden situation, he knelt down with a thump which made his knees hurt despite the soft sand. He picked the sword with shaking hands.

The moment he picked the dying sword, he felt something something unusual about the ground which was harder than the rest of the space.

Li Jie immediately started to dig around the area to get any clue that could save the sword.

He soon dug out a large area. Under all the sand was a small door with strange carvings on it.

The small door was in square shape and looked extremely old but sturdy. There was no lock on the door but Li Jie could sense danger from whatever was on the other side of the door.

Li Jie immediately raised his guard and became fully alert to face whatever was there as he was sure that whatever was inside the tunnel, it was related to sword and maybe the main key to the sword.

Li Jie bended to lift the door, the door which was looking old and sturdy was surprisingly light and was lifted by Li Jie without much effort.

Li Jie tried to look inside but could not see anything due to the darkness in the tunnel. The tunnel was so dark that it gave off ominous vibes.

Li Jie took out his phone from his phone and turned on the flashlight towards the tunnel.

Li Jie wanted to estimate the depth of the tunnel and a way to go in the tunnel.

Even after turning on the flashlight, Li Jie could not see anything. It was as if the light was being consumed by the tunnel.

Li Jie put his hand with phone in the tunnel to illuminate the tunnel but someone pulled him in the tunnel with a strong force.

Li Jie tumbled inside the tunnel due to the sudden force. He fruitlessly tried to feel around him to stop himself from falling deeper but there was nothing but space.

Li Jie fell on top of a soft material, he stood up with some difficulties and looked at the only source of light in front of him.

Li Jie walked slowly towards the light source, the area kept getting broader and there was the sword, laying on top of a huge black stone.
