Chapter 17: Lightning Assault

Looking over at the girl behind him, the sphere of water suddenly disappeared as the spell was broke.

" Sure I can lend a hand "

Looking at the boar getting ready to charge, the girl retreated behind the rocks. Hiro drew his wooden sword, a force of adrenaline surged throughout his body as sweat dripped down his forehead and he smiled nervously

' I never knew boars could be this large '

[NB: Boar is 4 meters large]

" Okay you overgrown dog let's dance"

The boar immediately charged toward Hiro as he did the same to close the distance. Attempting to ram horn first, Hiro leaped onto the tip of the horn before propelling himself over the boar. The girl watched from the distance in amazement.

" Burn you oversized pig !!"

As he shouted out, a red magic circle appeared upon his left hand. Directing his hand toward it, six arrows of flames were let out.

" Scatter Shot !!"

As they struck the boar, a cloud of smoke covered the terrain. Landing on the ground with a smirk on his face, he looked toward the cloud of smoke awaiting to see the boar. Unexpectedly the boar came charging from the smoke with singed fur tips

' it took no damage ! '

Hiro immediately began running toward the right side of the terrain before leaping on to the side of his training post and propelling toward the boar

" If flames don't work what about a mana sword "

Coating the blade in a layer of mana, Hiro slashed the boar's side before using it as a foot hold to leap back. Examining his spot of attack he gasped

' Nothing happened, it's skin is that thick ? '

Skidding on the ground before coming to a stop he grunted. The boar stopped and faced Hiro

" Rraaaa "

The boar cried out before charging once more

' What the, it got faster '

Leaping to the side away from the assault he watched it ram in to a group of trees.

" How do I beat this thing "

Whilst baffling to find a way to hurt* the boar his body suddenly felt lighter

" My fatigue ... "

Looking around the battlefield, he came to see the girl with her hands held whilst mumbling something. As he was about to call out the boar's roar was heard once more, drawing his attention as it rushed towards him. Dashing toward it, he leaped allowing him to land on the boar's back

Grasping his oak sword with both hands, surges of lightning were released from it

" If I can't cut you then stabbing is the best option "

Plunging the sword down into the boar, a cry was let out which caused it to go wild

" It worr...ked!!"

Hiro was suddenly launched in to the sky due to its wild behavior. The boar immediately turned toward the ascending Hiro and roared out before charging toward him. As Hiro decended he gazed at the boar beneath him charging before suddenly leaping as he began descending. Smiling brightly he once more held his sword in both hands

"  How about this !! "

Drawing the mana to the edge of the blade, steams of lightning began raging out of control

' Come on, thinner '

Getting closer to the boar, the mana shrunk layering part of the edge

' Thinner '

Grunting as his grip tightened, it's hilt began cracking. The raging lightening instantly disappeared as a thin layer of blue light covered the edge of the blade. Less than a meter from the boar, Hiro brought down his blade diagonally. A large ray of light was released through the assault, tearing through air creating a void.

" LIGHTNING DESCENDANCE SLASH !!! "

The light effortlessly passed through the boar and continued forth to erase part of the terrain. Momentarily a deafening sound of thunder was heard causing a shockwave throughout the forest. Shock was seen on his face as he descends down to the ground
