138 Pregnant?

Xiao Ni's head is buzzing when little S's robotic voice is ringing in her ears. Pull the pillow below her head to cover her ears. But Little S did not stop chanting the same sentence over and over again. Getting angry, she hit Wang Kai's arm several times to wake him up.

"Go answer the phone," She said, still half awake and closing her ears.

"It's for you." Wang Kai answers flatly with eyes still close.

"Argh!" Xiao Ni groaned before sitting up with disordered hair. She glares at Little S's holographic images of Xia Sha's call log. After taking two deep breaths, she decided to pick up Xia Sha's call from her phone.

"What is it?" She snapped furiously. However, the caller seems to ignore her temper and went on to tell her the important news. It takes a while for her to proceed with Xia Sha's words. But when she did, her whole body jolted, and her eyes flare-up.

"WHAT?!" She shouts, waking up Wang Kai, who is sleeping beside her. He pinched the space between his eyes as he looked up at Xiao Ni.

"What happens?" His voices come out more hoarse than usual. Perhaps because he just woke up or because of his tiring exercise last night. Xiao Ni looks at him for a second before focusing on Xia Sha again.

"Okay, you wait for me there. I'll go fetch you now." She closed the call and rush to the bathroom.

Wang Kai lifted half of his body and raised both of his hands, showing his confusion to Xiao Ni. "You are going to run away after eating?" he raised his thick eyebrow at Xiao Ni.

Xiao Ni popped out her head from the door gap. Toothbrush hang on her mouth as she rambles out something that sounds like, "There is some emergency, I need to go to the hospital,"

Wang Kai's face turns serious as he directly walks to approach Xiao Ni. His big hand wrapped Xiao Ni's cheek as he pulls her head inwardly. "What happens? Are you okay? I'll accompany you to the hospital."

Xiao Ni glare at him and smack his arm.

"It's not me. It's Xia Sha." Xiao Ni said after taking out the toothbrush inside her mouth. Wang Kai felt relieved and not as worried as before.

He leaned back at the door gap and watched Xiao Ni's facing her face hurriedly. The worry he had on his face right now has evaporated and nowhere to find.

"Why? is she pregnant?" He asked casually.

Xiao Ni widens her eyes and looks at him through the mirror reflection with a shocked face. Just like that, Wang Kai knows his prediction is right.

"How could you know?" Xiao Ni's jaw dropped to the ground while Wang Kai shrugs his shoulder nonchalantly.

"Ji Cun Xi might have said something about secure her down with a child or something."

Xiao Ni looks at him in disbelief. Her headache as she felt the urge to break their stupid brotherhood!

"You guys are impossible!"

It turns out to be a false alarm.

Xiao Ni and Xia Sha slumped on the cold hospital bench with a piece of paper in Xia Sha's hand. Gratitudes coming out from Xia Sha's mouth as Xiao Ni tries to calm her tired heart that just went crazy from the moment she woke up.

"You frighten me to death!" Xiao Ni furrowed her eyebrow at Xia Sha.

"I also frightened to death! Don't blame me, blame your brother!" Xia Sha pressed her lips, refusing to get all the blames alone. Xiao Ni shook her head and patted her chest.

Xiao Ni is too tired to come out with something to fight with Xia Sha. She merely sat there like someone who just finishes a marathon. Xia Sha then stood up with cheeks all blushed.

Xiao Ni looked up at her with a questioning look. Xia Sha grins and pointed at the washroom. "I think my great aunt just come."

"..." Xiao Ni makes the 'I'm so going to kill you' expression while Xia Sha chuckles and walks to the washroom.

Xiao Ni still put on an annoyed look even after Xia Sha disappears behind the door. This shocking event is also a reminder for her to discuss protection with Wang Kai. She remembers he never uses any prevention despite doing it so many times now. *blush*

Guess, this is a blessing in disguise.

She did not move from her seat while waiting for Xia Sha. After getting back her composure, she took out her phone to contact Wang Kai. When she finished texting him, her eyes meet Elle just coming out from another examination room.

She quickly averted her gaze to another direction, acting she did not recognizes Elle at all. Surprisingly, Elle walks to sit beside her and talk to her first.

"You are here too, are you...?" Elle's gaze falls on Xiao Ni's stomach. Xiao Ni covers her flat belly and quickly shook her head.

"I'm not, but pretty sure you are." Xiao Ni's gaze landed on Elle's little stomach that is showing now. Elle smiled warily and nodded her head.

"Yeah, I'm so f*cked up." She murmured before chuckling lowly.

Xiao Ni looked at her with a surprised look. Although she did not understand what happened to Elle and Qin Bai, as Wang Kai has personally taken care of this problem, she knew their punishment would be quite severe. But she never imagines Elle will confide with her one day.

Elle lowered her gaze and looked at her black flat-shoes. Xiao Ni doesn't understand how pregnancy could change someone's aura so much, but she weirdly felt willing to listen to her.

"I'm getting a divorce in the middle of pregnancy." A smile formed on her face, but Xiao Ni could felt the sorrow lies behind her words. She is silenced for a while before she decided to tell Elle her hidden thoughts.

"Qin Bai likes you more than he likes me." Xiao Ni did not understand why would she uncover one of the things that hurt her ego to Elle. Perhaps, hearing Elle's sorrowful voices make her want to help to salvage their relationship.

"You don't have to say that to make me feel better. We all knew Qin Bai had a big crush on you until now," Elle shook her head slightly.

"Yes, he might have a crush on me in the past. But he like you more. That's what he said to me the night I call him on the nightclub before he proposed to you the next day." Xiao Ni touched Elle's cold hand, transfer the warmth from her hand.

Elle stares at Xiao Ni's big, sparkly eyes. It's is enchanting and makes her felt peaceful.

Elle's mouth is trembling before she covers her wet eyes with her palm. Xiao Ni is surprised by her sudden broke down, but after proceeding with what happened, she did not hesitate to pull her into a warm hug.

"My heartfelt so hurt when he walks out that day. I shouldn't flaunt my promotion when his shop is not doing well. I should have known better how prideful he is," Elle sobs. She pulls her body from Xiao Ni's embrace and keeps their arm-length hug.

"I followed you two that day. I knew he told you that this marriage is not working out. I know he said it because he is emotional after our fights. But I couldn't bring the blame on my shoulder. That's why I blame it on you. I'm so sorry," She confessed to Xiao Ni and cried louder.

Xiao Ni shook her head. She patted Elle's shoulder. "Don't cry. It's not good for the baby." She brings her dainty fingertips to wipe Elle's tears away. She took out the tissues from her bag and gave it to Elle.

Elle still sobbing and felt more awful when Xiao Ni treat her like a good friend. She has been harboring an ugly envious feeling for Xiao Ni this whole time.

In their past competition, Xiao Ni has done a lot of things to hurt her. She couldn't say Xiao Ni is a good person. But she also has done something horrible to Xiao Ni too. So she thought, it's always going to be a fight between Xiao Ni and her.

Who would has thought, the girl who wanted to snatch her boyfriend in the past is the one who gives her tissues when she cried right now.

"He makes his choice, he chooses you. I'm not trying to help you two rekindle or anything. But I just wish the two of you happiness. Both of you are my friend. Like it or not." Xiao Ni said with her usual mean girl tones, even though her words are not mean at all.

Elle smile and nods her head. She felt her burdens has lifted up a little after a sudden heart to heart talk with Xiao Ni. She wipes her tears and tilted her head.

"Thank You and I apologized once again." She hugs Xiao Ni the last time before standing up. Xiao Ni looked up at her and did not say anything, but soft smiles appear on her face.

"You can call me if you need something," Xiao Ni acts nonchalantly but her gaze landed on Elle's stomach.

Elle's smiles got wider. Although she did not say it out loud, Xiao Ni looks really worried at the child on her stomach.

It's indeed the truth, if Elle chooses to divorce and become a single mother, she will go through a lot of hardship. Xiao Ni is worried for the child, for Elle and Qin Bai could be considered her friends.

"I won't hesitate to bother you then," Elle tease Xiao Ni who instantly furrowed her eyebrow.

"We are not that close!" She said arrogantly. Elle chuckles and finally understands why President Wang really dotes on his wife. Elle then takes her cue to leave and Xiao Ni smugly lets her go.

Five steps from Xiao Ni, she could still felt her worried gaze on her back. She impulsedly turns around and looks at Xiao Ni. Xiao Ni pretends to be nonchalant and averted her gaze quickly.

This silly girl, although she looks spoiled and hot temper, she actually really sweet and delicate. She did not show how she cares and protect her friends. She likes to express herself with arrogant words. But the tenderness she shares with people around her is not surpassable.

Elle smile before saying, "I think you and Wang Kai will be great parents one day," and leaves.
