126 No one can take advantage of my wife. (Well, except for me)

She dropped Xia Sha back at her office after that crazy fight with the Song sister. Looking at her messy appearance through the reflection on the car window, Xiao Ni could only sigh helplessly.

The night before she got married, her mother sleep with her that night. She taught her a lot of things to consider when she becomes someone's wife. One of them is protecting her husband's good reputation in public eyes.

"Before, you only carry the name of our Guan family. We could tolerate all your doings. But now, you are also the Wang family's daughter-in-law. You also need to consider their reputation."

She scratched her head which suddenly itching.

"Yes, I just fought with your ex and her sister." She confessed directly before Wang Kai could even say 'hello'.

"That explains why Director Xiao calling me just now." His tone was calm and flat as usual. There is not a slight surprise in his talking tone.

Xiao Ni felt it's also good to marry someone that knew you so well. You didn't have to bother maintaining your reputation, since he is used to cleaning up your mess :)

"Complaining to her father after losing a fight, how hideous, so lasted yesterday." Xiao Ni scoffed and roll her eyes.

"Why did you fight with her, Are you bored?" he asked with real concern, not sarcasm. He was furrowing his eyebrow on the other side, thinking to spend more time with her this weekend.

"You still dare to ask? Every time I fought with someone surnamed Song, it's all because of you!" Xiao Ni's eyes were bleak. Her lips turn into a frown. Wang Kai is chuckling when he heard her answer.

"Hm, it's all my fault. I'm sorry you have to deal with them." He quickly said after he stops chuckling. He could imagine Xiao Ni is glaring at him with a little frown on her pouty lips. The urge to pull her into his embrace increased.

"It's good if you know. I really don't want to deal with those stupid sisters again. But they just keep provoking me. So infuriating! Do you know what did she said just now? She said, Xiao Ni, I haven't lost! Whatever it is, I'm still the one who carries your design to Paris fashion week! Your husband helped me! He helps me several times."

Xiao Ni humped and suddenly furious at Wang Kai. Pinching her eyes on the street she harshly asked him, "Do you?"

"Of course not! I left it unfinished to Wang Ru. He's the one that approved the project."

Xiao Ni's heart sank when she heard Wang Ru's name. Wang Kai seems to realize this from her irregular breathing. He quickly changed the topic.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of it. No one can take advantage of my wife." He stopped for a moment before he adds, "Well, except for me."

Xiao Ni could almost see his annoying grin just from hearing his tone. She ends up fighting with her own lips muscle to hold back a smile. "Shameless," she murmured.

Wang Kai laughed and embracing that side of him. Being shameless could gain him so many things. He wouldn't leave this trick just for mere pride. Xiao Ni followed his laugh too at the end, unable to resist him.

"The land I said on the morning has been settled. The owner will come to my office at afternoon. Do you want to drop by?" he asked after laughing.

"Okay." Xiao Ni answer without the slightest hesitation. Wang Kai was quite satisfied with her instant reply.

"Great, please come quick. I miss you." He said with a very gentle voice that makes the butterfly on Xiao Ni's stomach dancing widely again.

"I still have something to do," she replies in a low voice. There is still a driver in the car, and she's shy right now. Thankfully the driver professionally and acts like he did not hear anything. His eyes remind of the street all the time.

But Xiao Ni still hides her blush.

"Okay. You go busy." Wang Kai said before he told her to end the call. Xiao Ni giddily turns off her phone and tries her best to surpass the happiness that erupted inside her.

Something that Xiao Ni needed to do is apologizing to Senior Brother Song Weilong in the hospital. Coming out of the car to the hospital, she wears a mask to hide half of her face.

The best way to disguise is to act normal and blend into the crowd.

She waited in front of his office after asking for his schedule from the nurse in charge. She even paid time for consultation, in case he did not want to talk to her after what has happened.

Song Wei Long just finished his daily patient control. He went back to his office to eat his late lunch when he saw a familiar figure sitting on the bench in front of his office.

A smile subconsciously rose when he saw her.

Xiao Ni was humming a song with a low volume when she felt someone is watching her. When she looked up, she found Song Wei Long is grinning while approaching her. Well, no, he was walking to his office.

"Come inside," he invites her. Xiao Ni nodded her head. Following him to his office and sat across his working table, Xiao Ni has an embarrassed smile all the time.

"Em, Senior Brother Song, I come here to apologize for the article spreading on the internet." She has an awkward smile while talking.

Song Wei Long smile never disappears even once as he sat down and waited for her to talk.

"It's not your fault. You don't have to apologize." He grinned. He knew Xiao Ni wouldn't believe his simple sentence, so he added a joke. "Eventually, It helps me deal with girls that bothering my work."

He successfully makes Xiao Ni chuckles and stares at him.

"Aw, A heartbreaker." Her eyes glints. Song Wei Long chuckles too and shook his head slightly.

"Who's talking right now. Don't forget your record 15 men in one day." He wiggles his eyebrow playfully, making Xiao Ni giggles.

"The boys are just playing around. It's different from girls that genuinely like and admire you." Xiao Ni recalls how many admirers Senior Brother had in her faculty only. Almost all of the girl in her faculty has a crush on Senior Brother Song.

"What's different? I think they are all the same. They did not in love with me. They are in love with the thought of loving me." Song Wei Long smiles.

Xiao Ni nodded her head slightly as she considering the right time to talk about Ye Na to Senior Brother Song.

"Well, as my apologies, I'll tell you something." Xiao Ni said craftily, building curiosity for Song Wei Long. It did works. Song Wei Long's face turns to be more serious right now.

"I found someone that really liked you. She even lowered her pride and asked me to tell you that... she would like a date with you someday if you are not busy...?" Xiao Ni felt uncomfortable the moment she asked about this.

Even though Song Wei Long responded with laughter, she still felt guilty for bringing this up after an apology. Her apologies did not look sincere at all.

"Thank you for your friend's affection for me. But I'm not interested in dating right now. I'm more interested in my career right now. There are so many things I wanted to achieve." His rejection couldn't be more direct. Xiao Ni is ashamed herself.

"Well, I knew your dream. You wanted to be the best surgeon in the world, right?" she asked excitedly about his dream to ease the tense atmosphere.

Senior Brother Song nodded. "Brain surgeon now, and not necessarily the best. I just wanted to save people as many as I can."

"Senior Brother, you are too cool!" Xiao Ni felt Senior Brother Song is very noble right now with his dream and white coat. Senior Brother Song laughed and gave her a smile as a response.

"I could see you really love your job. So now, after gaining your forgiveness, I will not bother your time again. Wait, did I?" She look at Senior Brother Song for reconfirmation.

Song Wei Long laughed and slightly titled his head. "Forgiven," he confirmed.

Xiao Ni's eyes twinkles, her dimples show as she heard his answer. After that, she bet her goodbye and walks away from his office with a light heart.

Song Wei Long watched her little back silently. Her wide smile turns into a little helpless smile before he eventually shook his head and buried himself in his work again.
