Xiao Ni covers her whole body with a blanket. Her mind refused to recall her last conversation with Wang Kai. The moment he mentions Wang Entertainment, Wang Ru's face appears on her mind. It was terrifying.

Her hand was trembling under the cover. Her head was aching. She felt as if someone split her head into two pieces forcefully.

Her breath slowly turns heavy the more she forced herself to close her eyes. The blood was splatter everywhere. In the wall, in the ground, and mostly on her hand.

She opens her eyes in panic. She sees the whole bed stained with blood everywhere. She fretted and jumped out of the bed. Her trembling hand touches her head and cheeks as she denied everything on her mouth.

"I'm not! I'm not a murder..."

"No... I did not mean any harm."

"AKKHHHH!!!!!!!" she screams.

The next second later she saw Wang Kai rush into the room. There is no void of emotion on his face. But the way he scoops her up and hugs her enough to tear Xiao Ni into a sob.

His right hand pressed her head more into his chest. His left hand was patting her back gently. Xiao Ni felt like a lost child who found her mom.

She felt glad he was there. But at the same time, his presence makes her felt sinful. Her ears are right next to his heart. She could hear his every heartbeat.

It was strong, and fast, with a strange rhythm.

Then she realized, he was faking his calmness. He understands that he needs to look calm when Xiao Ni's anxiety attacks. Xiao Ni's heart was bittersweet.

"Will you stay if you know the truth?" she wanted to ask him and find the truth. But instead, what comes out from her mouth was. "There a cockroaches on the bed!"

Wang Kai's face was conflicted, but Xiao Ni could see a glimpse of relief after she said that. Xiao Ni wipes away the tears gently as she watched Wang Kai bravely step on the bed to find the cockroaches.

"I couldn't find it. It's gone." Wang Kai said turning his head back to her. Xiao Ni pressed her lips and did not answer.

"Don't be afraid anymore, I'll have people working on it tomorrow. Let's sleep at the hotel tonight." Wang Kai decided. After all, he did not want to sleep on the bed where there are the cockroaches has left their trace.

Xiao Ni did not refuse. She thinks she could sleep better at the hotel since she couldn't even close her eyes at all here.

The disgusting face on Wang Kai helps Xiao Ni to pick up herself. She chuckles and said, "Are you afraid of cockroaches too?"

That would keep her busy and away from the heavy burden of guilt. Wang Kai felt someone is staring him from behind. He knew well who has secretly watched him since there is only two of them in the big room. Also, he had heard the heavy sigh for the second time.

He turns around and his eyes meet those pairs of beautiful glassy eyes. "What's bothering you this time?"

Xiao Ni shook her head and turn her head back to the television almost instantly. Wang Kai smiles and returns to his work when he heard the third sigh coming.

He starts to get worried.

"Ni Ni, what is bothering you?" he asked for the second time.

"Nothing." She answers indifferently. Wang Kai narrowed his eyes at her but she did not look back, thus he continues to do his work warily.

Then he heard the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh sigh, he could take it anymore.

"That's it. Tell me what is bothering you?" Wang Kai's face was deadpan, trying to surpass his annoyance, as he walked to the king-size bed and give his all attention to her.

Xiao Ni's body stiffens instantly when he suddenly hugged her waist in one movement. A jolt of electricity spreading from her waist to the rest of her body. Xiao Ni gasp slowly becomes heavy. She did not dare to reply that fiery gaze from him.

Since she still refused to answer, Wang Kai tightens his hug and whisper to her ears. "I won't reticent to throw you still refuse to tell me."

The nervousness and tingling sensation who had built up inside of Xiao Ni destroyed the moment he spoke. Xiao Ni's expression changed, she felt a great urge to strangled this smug-looking man beside her to death.

"Still not telling?" He probed and began to move, causing Xiao Ni to hold her stomach as she watched him climbing in front of her. This position... even if she wants to run away she could not.

Also, as his enigmatic dark eyes stare at her pointedly with those lazy boyish smile was too charming and dangerous at the same time. She found his advances hard to resist.

"Are you really want me to kiss you before you speak?" Wang Kai warned and raised her eyebrow. There is a different light in his eyes, confused? No, not really. It was amusement.

Does he found it amusing that she did not try hard to break free this time?

She starts to find the answers between those eyes. Did not aware of how Wang Kai's face has changed into a complicated face. The compressed feelings that he tried to surpass from he comes back, in the hospital until now on the hotel starting to overwhelm him.

They go through so much in such a short time. The long battle they are facing finally ended in victory. Does she ever know how much he has waited till this time?

Now that he could hold her so close, feeling her breathing against his skin, he felt blissful. This was the life he wanted until old, and he was always sure he would like to pass it with her.

They don't know who starts but when they realized both of them have lost their stock of oxygen. Breathing heavily Wang Kai smiles and touch her nose with his nose.

Only between that moment, she felt honest. She did not pretend how she felt and it's felt liberating. But shame on her, she would lose everything the moment she is honest.

There's a very thin line between the options she needs to takes. But for now, she greedily needs to feel his love for her. Even if it's not unconditional, even if it's fake, she did not care. She just wanted to be loved by him.

Even if she knew she might never gonna felt that from him again.
