Encounter (2)

At this moment, Jiang Ma was sorting some books on the first floor. When she looked up and saw Huo Jinchuan walking towards, her whole slightly wrinkled face beamed with joy.

"Jinchuan you're here !"

Jinchuan's usually sharp and cold eyes softened a bit at this moment. He nodded gently "Aunt Jiang"

"Why didn't you call me earlier, I would have prepared a lunchbox for you. How long are you staying this time? Will you stay for dinner"

Huo Jinchuan nodded. He missed his former adoptive mother's food. He's an illegitimate child of Huo family. His father didn't know about his existence until he was already 17 years old. At that time, he was living with his adoptive mother ,Jiang Ma.

When he was 3 years old, his biological mother passed away and he was taken to an orphanage. His days there could be said to be a nightmare. With his tender looks that have not yet sharpened back then, he was forced to fend for himself in brutal manners. Since he was in such a vulnerable position with his small body and weak strength, he needed to be even more ruthless and cast vicious strikes so others would back off. One time, there was this middle aged lady that came by as a volunteer in the orphanage. Thanks to his looks back then, she was especially fond of him and bought him some special gifts. The other older kids were very envious of this and once she left, they surrounded him in the restroom in an attempt to take them away. Don't think that it's simply a matter of taking things away, they wanted to submerge his head in the toilet. He simply took a half broken toothbrush and directly lunged at one of the kids, stabbing his eye. Blood flowed along with the horrified shrieks of the other boys. Although they were cruel, this kind of shocking vicious scene really frightened them.

As a result his reputation as an absolute madman that can't be offended gradually spread in the orphanage. Of course, this meant that he was isolated but at least it was better than taking things lying down.

Later on, when he was about twelve years old, he discovered the wondrous existence of something called a library. On his first visit there, he met Jiang Ma. His body was very thin and emanciated, instead of 12 years old, he looked more like a 9 years old. Jiang Ma was very surprised to see such a thin little boy coming to the library all alone. There wasn't any kids' section here.

"Little boy, what are you doing here? Where are your parents?"

"I have no parents, I live at the orphanage. I'm here to read books, if you don't let me in, I will report you" Huo Jinchuan replied coldly.

His eyes were too cold for his age. So cold that it caused Jiang Ma to feel a pang of heartache instead. This was just a little boy. Trying to be as gentle as possible, she patiently explained, "We don't have children's books over here, in fact, children are prohibited from entering"

Huo Jinchuan lowered his eyes for a second. His fists were clenched tightly. When he went to look for work, this was what they would say. That he's still a child. He was very frustrated with his own young age and couldn't wait to grow up. At that moment, Jiang Ma looking at the obviously frustrated and silent little kid, didn't know whether ghosts or gods were at work, but she actually wanted to take him in. She can't have children and has no interest in marriage, so she lives alone and only has these books for company on normal days. She felt that it wasn't a bad idea to have this little cub for company.

"Little boy, what's your name? How about us becoming a family? If we become a family, you can read as much books as you like, I will also make sure to get you into the best school. What do you think?"

Huo Jinchuan wasn't very surprised to hear this. It's not the first time that someone wanted to take him in. But as soon as they heard about his history back at the orphanage, they would immediately back away. So he didn't say anything and just nodded. Jiang Ma was immediately excited ! She didn't expect him to agree so readily !

Following him back, she was greeted by the dean's weird eyes when he heard her request. When he proceeded to tell her of the previous incidents and of Huo Jinchuan's violent temper, Jiang Ma finally understood. However there was this one detail, he striked back viciously but that was only when he was provoked. Which means that he still has a sense of wrong and right and wouldn't blindly attack people. Confirming her decision with the dean, she went through the necessary procedures and stood up to go tell Huo Jinchuan the good news so he can move over to her house as soon as possible.

Even until having moved over to Jiang Ma's house and sitting there eating dinner, Huo Jinchuan was still in a daze. He was really adopted? Someone actually wanted him? At that moment, his heart that has already gone cold for a long time finally showed a tiny little crack called Jiang Ma.

Later on even after he was taken back by Huo Lao, he regularly kept in contact with her. Whenever he's in a bad mood or simply tired, he would always come spend some time in the library.
