10 Reason #9: He is never around

************

The Next Day

The rustling sounds around the house woke me from my sleep.

As I slowly open my eyes to see an unfamiliar ceiling. I then recall the unfortunate situation I am in.

"That's right.... I've been kidnapped...."

I let out a deep sigh. Then slowly, I began to feel angry.

<Seriously, is this part of the novel? How did I end up in an event like this? was not supposed to happen villainess. Taking villainess life be exclusively for Hero story! Not by some low 3rd-grade kidnappers!< p>

That is my right as the villainess! If you are going to do a cliche romantic novel, then do it the old fashion way! You Stupid, Idiotic Sadistic Author of this F**ing Novel!!!>

Ivy could only scream on the inside, which made her feel even more frustrated because she couldn't even cry out her stress due to the kidnappers on the other side of the room.

She breathes in deeply while trying to meditate her mind to calm down.

"This is not the time to stay depressed. I have to do something. I won't let my years of effort go to waste. I can't let this shitty novel bring me down now.

Think positive. Just think of this as an escape room. OK! Level one is to untie my hands from these ropes."

The rope was tied in simple knots. I can tell that they weren't professionals since my hands could still slightly move around between the small gaps, but the pain from my wounded wrist made it quite difficult for me to escape.

After a painful struggle, I finally managed to free myself from the ropes.

I then carefully tiptoed towards the door and spy through the holes that the ray of light shine.

I could see shadows of 3 men. One was sleeping at the table while the others were sleeping side by side near the door.

After analyzing the situation, the possibility of me running away out from here is ... Zero.

"Urgh..... this author is a genius. Genius at making my life miserable!"

It must have been a couple of hours since I was kidnapped.

The fact that I've not yet been found means that this location is a lot more well hidden than expected.

<Father must be going crazy looking for me right now. Should I wait it out until he comes?>

Ivy shook her head

<No, I shouldn't think that the author would write such a convenient solution for villainess, I'm not female lead after all,< p>

and if I'm wrong, it will be the end of me here.>

"OK, Don't worry. There is still time. I just need to think of a plan."

Then suddenly a man shouted.

"Wake up. We are moving out right now!"

<SH**T! There is no time at all!>

The man started ordering around while the others started picking up their feet.

"Una, get the princess and remember to gagged her so that she can't scream."

I quickly wore back the rope that I loosened and sat on the bed.

The female kidnapper named Una stepped into the room.

She held my hands then whispered into my ear.

"Can you swim?"

I stared at her and nodded.

she then handed me a small knife and gazed back at me with a smile

"There is a lake just behind the hut. While I act as your hostage, you escape through the lake."

I then hugged her tightly and said, thank you.

As we exited the hut, the men were already on their horses waiting for us.

I then held the knife on Una's throat as a plan

"Don't come any closer, or I'll cut her throat!"

They looked startled and paused. Unsure of what to do.

Looking at their reaction, I try to move towards the lake as Una said according to plan until...

"IVY!!"

Someone yelled my name.

On my right, a group of knights appeared and the one leading them, there he stood - Prince Leon.

"Your highness?!"

Prince Leon's sudden appearance surprised me.

Then another voice sounded from the left and yelled my name.

"Ivy! Are you OK?!"

A group of soldiers in heavy armour slowly appeared from the left, and the one leading them was none other than my father.

"Father?!"

The menacing aura from the large group of soldiers scared me.

then another familiar voice shouted my name again

"IVY!!!!!!! ARE YOU OK!!!!!"

Closing behind the kidnappers, a group of huge shirtless muscular men stomps into the scene, and the one leading them, a small old man sitting on one of the muscular man's shoulders, was my grandfather.

"Grandpapa????????"

Wait, what with the heavy armoury and the unreasonable amount of people?

I then notice 3 of the scary leaders glaring at each other.

I'm having trouble processing the situation. Are they not here to save me? Why does it feel like they are at war?

(Author: Ivy doesn't know, but this will be a story shared from the Prince POV) (о'∀'о)

As I loosened my hands away from Una's neck, one of the kidnappers rode his horse towards me, pushed Una away, and grabbed me by the neck.

"...Arckkk!!"

I held on to his arms, trying to pull it away as I desperately tried to gasp for air when he tightened his grip.

"Stay back! Or She dies!!!"

The kidnapper yelled in panic.

Prince Leon, Duke Augustine, and Mr Omer, all three of their eyes, simultaneously turn bright red like a predator that's about to hunt down their prey.

"If you don't let go of her this instance, I will personally cut you into pieces and spread it over the continent."

Prince Leon said it in a deep voice as he drew closer with his sword.

"Stay back! I'm warning you."

The kidnapper panicked. In his eyes, he saw not a charming prince but the devil closing in.

As he felt his death drawing near, he threw Ivy as far as he could so that he could try and run away.

Prince Leon jump and leap in at super speed, catching Ivy in his arms while the Demon duke suddenly appears in front of the kidnapper.

And with the sound of a quick slash

—————-Shiing! the kidnapper's head rolled across the ground.

"Cough...cough..."

I cough out loud, trying my best to breathe in deeply.

Prince Leon held me tightly as his tears slowly began to fall.

Looking at his face, my heart became at peace.

I raise my hands to wipe off his tears and calmly smile.

"silly boy, I'm safe now, so do stop crying. I like it more when you smile."

He forces a smile and hugs me tightly in his arms.

Although it's only been a day, I forgot how warm his hugs were.

So warm that I fell asleep instantly.

A Few Days Later

Lots of tears were shed during these past few days.

First, father and mother came in and cried for many hours. After that, they sternly lectured me for not bringing guards with me when I was supposed to.

But because Grandfather was also around and he scolded Father for not taking good care of me, I actually had a more challenging time trying to calm my grandfather down instead.

Father said that my kidnappers would face a death sentence for kidnapping and harming a noble daughter.

However, I plead Father to let them go instead.

"No. I won't allow it! After what they have done to my daughter! How can you expect me to let these bastards go! They should not be forgiven!"

"Father, I do not wish to have someone's death at my expense. Even though they have done bad things, but they are not bad people.

They are just people with bad circumstances. I hope father can please forgive and accept your daughter's selfish request."

I bowed at Father and pleaded.

Although Father was not pleased, he still went along with my request.

Honestly, hearing the word death sentence made me shiver. I hated that word very much.

I don't know how many times I had imagined myself being beheaded, but no matter how many times I thought about it, it still sends fear to the core of my soul, and I don't wish to bestow that to anyone else, no matter who they are.

Gracie and Sir Gregory came by after a few days.

Gracie cried so much that her face looked like it was drying out.

Even Sir Gregory, who is usually calm and compose, also shed tears of relief.

Since that day, the news about my kidnapping spread widely across the kingdom, and Sir Gregory said that his highness has been busy dealing with the illegal immigrants from the southern kingdom.

The people that kidnapped me were the citizens from the south. Rumour has it that the current king of the south was ruthless. He cares for no one but himself. As the taxes got higher while the drought spread across the land, their people suffered, and they started to pillage others.

Listening to Sir Gregory's story makes me feel like another death flag from the novel was about to be raise. Of course, I did not notice or remember if there was such an event in the novel since I skipped through the pages.

".....Sigh, Why didn't I properly go through the book!"

While I felt frustrated for losing the ultimate cheat sheet of my life, I now could only pray that nothing bad would turn up after this.

A Month Later

It's been a month since I last saw his highness.

The bruise on my neck and hand is almost healed, and that boy hasn't shown up even once to see me. Hmph!

"I know that I'm not his true love, but considering all the sacrifices I made for him, you think I would've deserved at least one visitation from his highness!"

~Ah, but I guess it's OK since I have to be separated from him sooner or later.

There are just another two months until his highness birthday. He should be having a ball to celebrate his coming of age, and when that day comes, most likely, the female lead -Princess Sophia, will appear.

Even though my D-day was supposed to be on my 17th birthday, which is another two years, once prince Leon meets princess Sophia, I can finally leave, and their story should run accordingly, as written in the novel.

"Then everyone will be happily ever after. The End"

Hearing myself say that made me frowned.

"Why do I sound so sad? I should be happy about this. But why do I feel so empty inside."

I laid on my bed and covered myself with my blanket.

I should sleep. I don't want to think about it anymore. Thinking about it makes my insides feel weird."

"Stupid prince. Where are you?"
