10 Episode 8: YOU SURE ARE TROUBLE
In a quick snap of a finger, Red's scar-like mark glowed in a more crimson shade, their surrounding, which was pale of color, was quickly tainted in red and cinders, the ground seemed to have swallowed them whole. Gabby screamed and quickly closed her eyes, the moment she does open them, they were in a completely different world. Everything was otherworldly, oddly enough, Gabby thinks it was beautiful.
RED: You are in my world. Here, you will see things both beautiful and monstrous.
Red doesn't have to walk that far to show her what he meant, for not a few steps forward, a screaming entity that resembles a woman had appeared in front of their eyes.
The wild spirit charged at Gabby, wishing to possess her since it was only her there, who possess a mortal body.
GABBY: Eeek!
Before that happens though, Red quickly holds up the spirit with a hand, and with a powerful thrust, quickly immobilize the spirit to a halt.
It was too fast, Gabby hadn't even blinked. Her heart was pounding wildly. And her hands were shaking. She slowly looks at Red, who seemed unfazed and bored.
GABBY: Just what was that?!
RED: Sometimes, powerful spirits try to climb to our realm, but we, the noble ones wouldn't let that happen, of course.
GABBY: So, mind explaining how this works? How you guys become reapers? Or that noble entities you're speaking of? *hands making exaggerated movements*
RED: *sighs
GABBY: Please...
RED: When we do something extraordinary in our last breath, like heroism, charity or other means of sacrifice, kindness and bravery, our soul is judged by the divine empress, formerly by the White Prince, on whether we should be a divine entity or not.
GABBY: Who is the divine empress? And the white Prince?
RED: The white Prince...well, he was very powerful. He was made by the same light that radiates through the veins of the Divine Empress. But he, fell for a mortal human back in the first War of your mortal world. The lady was about to be killed, and as you can guess, he didn't let it happen.
GABBY: SO WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?!
RED: He...disobeyed one of the most important rules of our kind. To interfere with Death. He cheated Death. And that doomed his soul. He saved her. And she lived for another fifty years. But he, his soul was banished to oblivion, since no one should ever cheat death...
GABBY: That's dark...but is it true you can see whether when we'll die or not?
RED: I can see the age limit of mortals. But you, I don't know why I couldn't.
GABBY: Maybe because my grandma was a seer just like my great grandma, and my great grandma's grandma. We always have a special bracelet to protect us from misfortune.
RED: Interesting, so that's what that hideous thing wrapped on your hand is for... Anyways, since you still pissed me off back then, and you wasted a good ten minutes of my time, you will have to wait in this spirit realm until my shift is finished.
GABBY: Wait! But isn't it illegal to do this? Where's your leader, hmn? I need to complain! I wanna go home!
RED: Finally, you don't want to follow me anymore! Then *snaps finger* Bye...
In a blink of an eye Gabby was back at the same spot where she had met the reaper. Dazed, and still shocked.
GABBY: For a moment, I forgot about my purpose there...that smart ass of a reaper...ugh!
