7 Episode 5: ONE STARRY NIGHT

After working late that day, Gabby walks in a slow fashion, Tiwari's nephew was hospitalized so she couldn't accompany her as promised. Gabby was scared, very scared to walk that night. Childhood memories would fill her head like crazy, remembering the souls she would bump to when the dark bites. There was people walking by though, so her fear gradually decreases as she keeps on walking. But as she was about to pass a dark narrow alleyway, her heart stopped for a second.

There was a body lying still on the street. She don't know why it keeps happening on her busy town. And why she keeps on being involved. She was frozen to where she stand because of fear, but when she heard light footsteps coming closer, hid on one of the nearby bushes and began shaking like a scared puppy.

That's when she grew even more confused. The same man wielding a scythe from the convention was there, pointing the magnificent object on the victim and seemingly collecting its soul. Fascination and confusion filled her head.

A glowing object emerged from the dead body and continued to go get sucked by its sharp point.

That's when she realized he was a grim reaper. It was her first time seeing one. Perhaps due to the fact that her third eye becomes stronger as she ages. Being able to witness stronger entities as time pass by.

Red was still unaware of her presence. But after he was on his way back, Gabby gathered her courage to confirm if it really is a reaper, or simply a glitch of her sleepy eyes. She gulped audibly, then let her bubbly personality take over.

GABBY: HEY MISTER! Mind if I ask a few questions?

Red quickly turned around. Shock and amused. A mortal...could see him?

RED: Who are you? And how can you see me?

GABBY: I don't know, I just can? Anyways, you're a reaper, right?

RED: Yes. And what is it to you?

GABBY: I don't know too. I'm just making sure I'm not going crazy.

RED: And you? Are you really human?

GABBY: 'Course I am. Why?

RED: Don't 'why' me and talk so casually. I'm a reaper, remember?

GABBY: Oh...right...so...would I die?

RED: 'Course you will, idiot.

GABBY: Right now?

RED: I don't know. It's not your time yet.

GABBY: So you won't kill me? 'Cause you know, I saw everything.

RED: I wish I could. Since you're so annoying. We're busy, I hope you know that, who ever you are.

GABBY: Gabby. And sorry mister reaper. I just couldn't believe it.

RED: Me too. Anyways I really need to go. It's amusing how a human was gifted with such eyes. It's my first time encountering one. And you don't seem afraid.

GABBY: The one who killed the man is more terrifying...

Red stopped from his tracks and faced her again.

RED: You're really something.

And then he vanished.

GABBY: Hey wait! Ugh! Where did he go?

She ran for quite a while but her footsteps didn't lead her to the man she hoped to see.

GABBY: When can I see such marvelous creature again? Oh damn...I feel like a main character in a shoujo manga!

Then her attention went to the dead corpse in front of her.

GABBY: Except for this...I really need to call the authorities. This is pretty bad. And...well, good thing I watch gore movies sometimes...but this is still unnerving.

After doing so, she walked home, her mind flying on certain things...then her thoughts lead back to him.

She don't know why she wasn't afraid. But she just simply wasn't. There's something about him that attracted her greatly. Like she have met him before and knew he was a good soul. Someone who wouldn't hurt her...
