3 2. The Heir of The Supreme

Before going back to bed, Kinmyuu decided to go to the royal kitchen for a glass of milk. He could have used his psychic teleportation to go there in a matter of seconds, however he thought that a small walk would be good to help him to relax a little. Wearing a blue robe over the satin pajamas, he walked down the wide corridor of the third and last floor of the palace, where the dormitories of the royal family and guests were. As he passed one of the rooms, his attention was diverted by a purple door slightly open, where a large letter “A” was carved in gold with the image of a crown over the initial.

Slowly, Kin opened the door a little more with his psychic power to see if everything was in order inside. The place looked more like a toy store; with video games and comic books on one side, and on the other, several playsets assembled below several shelves displaying action figures, robots, and miniature spaceship. There were posters and pictures with images and emblems of superhero felins decorating the walls.

"Enough, Emperor Mewdrautron!" The interpretation followed in the animated voice of a felin child.

"Our world is under my protection and you can't defeat me! This war shall end today, you filthy evil Reverse! ”

"Wait a minute, Ake, I'm sure I didn't call Myurdred of 'filthy evil reverse' during our final battle." Said a second adult voice, harmonious and calm, but with powerful timbre.

"Miahh, c'mon, grandpa! You can't cut the vibe ... I know you didn't say exactly that, I'm improvising. Besides, here I pretend to be you, so it's not quite the same battle, think of it as a spin-off, hehe!"

"I guess you're right. Let's continue, then."

"Okay!" Exclaimed the child felin, positioning the toy in his hands and returning to interpret his lines. “This is your last chance, surrender or get ready to… ” It was then that the excited kid stopped and turned around, feeling watched.

"Dad?"

Kinmyuu smiled and approached, carefully avoiding stepping on the toy train track that ran across the bedroom floor, nor on the electric race track that was set up.

"Good morning, kiddo. How are you?"

The young prince of the supreme throne, Akenmyuu Mewlippe, was the eldest son of Kinmyuu and his queen, the pride of his parents and his kingdom. A little boy with a large and curious eyes of striking purple irises and naturally platinum hair, such as his father's.

Beloved - and pampered - by his family and their people, the boy lived up to what was expected of a demigod's son: he was loyal, intelligent and fearless, with an adventurous spirit and a noble heroic heart.

Aken was only eleven years old. Felins lived for about two hundred years without ever aging or lose their vigor. The only sign that a felin was older was the hair on the tip of their tail, which started to whiten slightly after a hundred years.

Their maturation was slow and, during childhood and adolescence, their growth stopped at certain age groups, presenting the same mentality and physical appearance during a period of 4 to 5 years. Thus, the young boy still showed the same behavior since he was nine, so that his childishness was something natural.

"Ehehe… I'm fine. Why are you already awake, dad?" The boy rubbed the back of his neck and smiled exaggeratedly at his father, trying to hide the nervousness of knowing that he should still be sleeping at that hour.

"I was going to ask you the same." replied the king, bowing to give a quick kiss on the son's head.

"Well, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. Then I called grandpa to stay with me and we started to play."

"Got it. Seems the both of you were having fun, huh?" Kin looked at the scene spread around the prince and his own deceased father, who was in the middle of it all, playing with his grandson.

Twenty-six years ago, Odimyuus Mewlippe - the former Supreme King and Kinmyuu's father - transcended approximately one year after his son's coronation. His death was deeply felt by his family and people, even with the hope of celestial rebirth as an angel.

It was a curious scene to witness a powerful angel with its majestic wings sitting on a carpet, surrounded by toys.

"Good morning, big boy. How are you?" Greeted the felin angel with a friendly and serene smile.

"Hi, Dad. I'm fine, and I'm sorry I messed up your fun. It looks like it was just getting to the good part."

"Don't worry about it, we can continue later. You can even join us if you want." The king's father joked.

"I appreciate the invitation, but maybe later. And don't get me wrong, dad, but as a guardian angel, shouldn't you make Aken sleep instead of spending the night playing with him? "

"I tried. Aken asked me to tell a story and then another. When I got to the third one, I realized that he wouldn't sleep, so I decided to accept his request to play. You know I've never been very good at saying no." Odimyel had a naughty smile.

"Yes, I know very well..." The king replied, shaking his head and smiling.

His father was always very joke-y and condescending in life. He wouldn't lose this characteristic by being reborn as an angel.

"Daddy, what happened to your wrist?" asked the little prince, noticing the healing splint.

"It was nothing, kiddo. It was just hurting a little, but now I feel better. Don't you worry about."

Without either of them noticing, the felin angel looked at his son's wrist and looked sad. Kinmyuu was looking at Aken, so he didn't even notice his father momentarily looking down in shame.
