1 The Unexpected Encounter

The wind blew in her entangled hair while she frantically called Charlie to know his whereabouts.

Christine and Macey were out in the dark winter waiting for the perfect getaway to commence soon.

"The traffic is getting a headstart so we will reach asap!!" informed Charlie to Macey .

They both have been the perfect lovebird couple that got the eye of everyone around them.

"Come soon we are freezing here...!" shouted Christine in the background.

The black Range Rover raced and stopped just infront of them .

Charlie got out and quickly put the bags in the car while the girls got in the car.

" Hello there!", the voice took those two by surprise.

The sky blue shirt made those deep sea eyes look mesmerizing and swept Christine not only by looks but by the spring of emotions.

"Hi..! We didn't know we had company." commented enquiringly to this handsome looking person.

"Oh well that's Jason. And that's my girl Macey and plus one Christine..!!"

" Thanks for the introduction creep!!" fretted Christine.

"Hi Christine and Macey !"

The hazelnut eyes and complementing chocolate brown fringes made Jason look again at Christine to just catch that blush on her cheeks .

Music at high volume, beer in hands and the car racing through the traffic was what got all four in the adrenaline boost to begin a fun-filled journey.

The night had a different fragrance to it or is it just the excitement was the big question going in Christine's mind.

"Drive slow Charlie we all know u drive well! stop showing off !" checked Macey which was a spontaneous habit towards her man.

"Babe ! You know me ! so just enjoy the ride!" with a kiss flown in her direction and through the rear view mirror winked Charlie at his gal.

"Hey Christine , you know Jason is single at the moment!" smirked Charlie towards Jason .

" Being single is a good option really!" was all Christine could come up with and had a regretting smile on her face thereafter.

The night drive was finally catching up with Charlie and they decided to take a quick stop at the only open cafe at the highway end.

"We'll be back in a while..!" eloped the lovebirds away leaving the two not so strangers alone amidst the cold winter dark sky.

The awkward silence was felt by both and even though they were okay with it they still had this compulsive thought of breaking the ice.

"So...How do you know Charlie?" trying to avoid the eye contact Christine tried to talk.

" Well we actually are working on the same project at work and we have roots from the same business school." a straightforward response from Jason.

"Okay...and did he really ask you or convince you to come for this random getaway!?" curiosity evident in her voice.

"He did convince me because I am not a person up for spontaneous plans like this." he said.

They kept quiet there after waiting for the other two to come soon .

"I'll drive ahead from here if that's okay!" told Jason to Charlie .

"Your car your rules mate !" and gave the keys to him.

The journey ahead took a different turn from there, while Charlie and Macey were teasing and taunting eachother Christine couldn't take her eyes off Jason after he adjusted the rear view mirror in which she saw herself and his eyes.

Neither of them slept the entire way and enjoyed the beautiful shades of the sky change from dark to light.
