Assessment Change

Jie Jun eyes were cold as he saw the scene next to him. There was a group of four people. The guy, who Jie Jun heard speaking carried himself like the leader of the small group. He had his hand on Jie Li's chin to lift it up. Then it was quickly followed by a swipe of her own hand to have him remove it.

"Are you shy beautiful? Don't worry, if you become my woman I will make you a Ranker. How about it? If power isn't what you want I have plenty of money as well. All you need to do is follow my wishes." The leader tried to entice.

The other three around him laughed as if it was something they saw all the time. " Ye Fei is at it again. Do you two want to bet how long she lasts?" one of them asked. "Don't say that. She just might make him settle down and get married. Anything could happen in life." Another defended.

Before that could continue talking and making jokes, Jie Jun walk over and stood in front of Jie Li. The look he his eyes didn't lesser even a little. When seeing a new face and being a male, Ye Fei's face, twisted into a sneer before going indifferent.

His face didn't have any emotions running through it now as he looked at Jie Jun as seeing a pest. "Who are you to block me? Do you know I would kill for less, let along for someone trying to snatch my woman in front of me?" he asked.

Jie Jun finally spoke as he turned around, "Second Sister are you hurt? Did he do anything before I noticed?" Questioning Jie Li to make sure he didn't miss anything else. Jie Li gave a small smile to reassure her younger brother. "The young me is okay now, just surprised by the bad man."

When Ye Fei's friends heard this they begin laughing again. "Hey, Ye Fei you're the big bad wolf now. I don't think I heard that one before yet." He was teased. Ye Fei's face didn't change as he got closer to Jie Jun who dare to turn his back to him.

"Arrogant boy, it seems you don't know who I am. If you did, you would have asked for mercy by now. Since you are ignorant, you can stay ignorant, in the afterlife." With that said he took a long red glowing saber once it left its sheath off his back.

Jie Jun who kept an eye on the group of four at all times, when he saw the red saber, he knew it was a Gear. This meant the guy before him was a person from the Big Bully sect and the sect seemed to have Gears. Jie Jun had to wonder just how far apart was the resources of the Big Bully sect compare to the top three clans in Bullying City.

On the other hand, when the other three group members saw the saber, they started to sweat. "Wait, Ye Fei don't be rash again. The Grand Elder said if you cause a disturbance before or during the assessment in a few days you would be punished."

Ye Fei still didn't show signs of caring, "What of it?" When they saw he wasn't persuaded, they started to sweat more. "I understand you might get a light punishment, but what about us? The Grand Elder don't care about us at all." One of them once again tried to change his mind.

Ye Fei looked at Jie Jun indifferently, "I want you to remember that today, you owe me a life debt since I will spare yours. In the future if you see I'm walking by, you better take, the long way around or not only will I beat you, depending on my mood I won't spare you again."

Ye Fei gave one more look to Jie Li before leaving. Jie Jun didn't take the threats as anything. He had planned on breaking both of that guy's legs but wanted to make sure Jie Li was truly okay first. He could also tell that Ye Fei was a Ranker because he couldn't use Identify to see his level.

Even if he was a Ranker, he would still break his legs for bringing any harm to his sister. Of course, Jie Jun didn't have the ability to fight against Rankers yet, so this was just Jie Jun's wishful thinking. Once he was sure his sister had no problems he turned his head back to the area where the animal was only to see nothing there.

Not wanting to have another repeat of what happened earlier, he didn't go looking for it, instead, he decided to lead his sister back home. Just as he was leaving, he saw that the animal was now by his feet with its small trunk tapping his leg as to get his attention.

Why was it being friendly? This was the first time he met it, yet it didn't have any aggression to him. Was it really a wild beast? Or was it somebody's pet giving how domesticated it was to people. During his thinking, his sister took matters into her own hands.

"Come here cutie! I have the perfect name for you. Let's call you Black Snow since your black and white." She cuddled. Jie Jun could only shake his head at the sight wondering in she knew just how dirty the wild beast was. He was now sure it was a wild beast but probably tamed.

In the end, he didn't get the spear talent but he knew the results would end like this 99% so he didn't feel too disappointed. The wild beast Black Snow seemed to fit right in with no problems. She, as he was sure it was female, also seemed to crave for attention as if she never had it before.

After returning, Jie Jun had Black Snow washed and cleaned. Instead of staying with his sister she decided to stay with him. During the wait for the assessment, he went to learn another ability from the ability room in the clan.

The ability this time was a technique called Basic Footwork, which would help make moving more easier and agile with no wasted movement. Since it was a basic technique there was still room to improve on.

The rest of the four days was spent with his family to get truly familiar with them and the new addition Black Snow. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't see through her. He had even redone his skills to max Identify but still came up with no clues. In the end, he decided to let it go.

As the time passed, the day for the Big Bully sect entrance assessment arrived.

Jie Jun stood with the crowd waiting for instruction on how the test would be conducted this year. Just when he thought they would make them wait longer to put up a show of might, Jie Jun saw an elderly man who looked in his late fifties walk up on the stage that was placed to help host this test.

From the looks of the robes the man was wearing, he looked to be an outer door elder. As he was on the stage, he used a skill to draw everybody's attention and to get them to be quiet. "Alright, people quiet down and listen up. This year's joining of the Big Bully sect will have some changes to it."

Hearing this, people quickly grew agitated again. The testing for entrance in Big Bully city was a yearly event. The requirement would even change from time to time. So most people when coming, would try to prepare better than what it required last time.

The elderly continued, "Now, the measurement of assessment we of the Big Bully sect gives, is always fair. Like always, there will be three parts but you only need to pass two to join the sect. The first part of the testing will be, the potential check. Those who get a 6 rating or lower will be considered as a pass."

Looking around, the outer door elder made sure everyone was still on the same track. "The second part will be the positive talent trait demonstration. Since we in the Big Bully sect believe in privacy, we will not ask to see your status talents or check it ourselves."

When those around heard the second part, they were confused on how they would demonstration their trait talents without cheating. The elder spoke again, "And the last part is the courage step. If you are able to take 20 steps or more forward then it will count as a pass."

The last part was something everybody knew about, it could be said as the Big Bully sect's tradition to test courage. Then came the surprise that made everyone have an uproar. "Last but not least, the requirement to join the assessment has changed this time due to the Sect Leader's decision."

Changed? What type of change? Was the thoughts of everybody. "Those who are 15 years old or younger and at least level 6 may join the assessment for this year."
