1 Chapter 1 Companion

In a room full of darkness, someone is searching for the light of enlightenment. Nick is one of the typical people you can meet every day. He looks like an average guy with a short hair cut, masculine body, dress like a normal guy and dress the most important character of him, his smile. It all started out the journey of his life in elementary days. He is an absolute fame inside their room, for bringing happiness towards his fellow mates.

At young age, he manages to learn what reality in life is. Leticia Marie a very supportive mother of Nick lights up the house independently. She's the only one who feed their family and supply family needs. They live far away from the city, where the only people they can meet is their four neighborhoods. Nick's family depends only from a single profit, and that is farming, without this they would struggle towards their life. Nick is the youngest among the four siblings.

But among them, his father is not the same as to the other three. Nick is the son of his mother with another guy, but eventually they separated. Nick didn't see his father's face since then and didn't even know the name of his father. But it did not bring any hindrance towards his life. The smile of his mother means a lot to him.

Living with his mother making him the best of life he could ever had. During his childhood days he only plays by himself, such thing that there are no other children with the same age of him live within their community. He spends most of his time playing at the back of their house, which is in the farm. He use to play with an empty gallon stick into a bamboo stick and pushes it right away towards the muddy and watery farm. He makes himself happy all alone.

Nick is a well known child to their community, even though they live far beyond from the city. Since then, there are a lot of farm owners visiting to their farm, and when they got tired and wants to go home, they always stop to Nick's place. For Nick, there is only one person which he will never ever come with. His name is Porras, a rich man with a big house, big farm land and also with a very nice car. He use to play jokes along Nick, but it seems to be scary joke for him.

He always saying "I'm going to get you and bring you home" and then give that smile to Nick form which he scared of. Every time Nick hears the sound of the car, he always rashes run inside their house and hide until his uncle Porras leave. But this entire thing was just a joke, but due immaturity it become scary for him.

Everyone from their community loves Nick and become attach to him as he becomes the most loveable child for them. As he grew up, he learns to find some new friends. He used to walk every day to meet with the other young friendly neighbors. Every morning, he wakes up early, eat his breakfast and tell her mother that he wanted to go to his friend's house. He walks far from their house just to go and meet with friends.

There, he had a lot of friends namely Milo, Alvin, Ariel, Yang-Yang, Jho-Jho and Chris. They spend time playing everything they can play. All of them create memories that would last forever into their life.

After the day, Nick goes to home every day at almost four o'clock in the afternoon. He got a lot of freedom that her mother wanted him to experience while he is a child. Every time Nick comes home, there is a food that her mother left for him as she knows that her son would be hungry when he comes home. The bond of mother and son is unbreakable for she wanted to have his son the best of him.
