Prologue

A Life Worth Saving

"I couldn't save you then, but I promise this time I'll save you" Running up the building stairs I pant endlessly. His death is different in this world so I don't have time to take a break or even look back. My only priority is him. Reaching the rooftop I burst through the doors and take a deep breath.

He stands on the edge of the roof as tears poor from his eyes. He doesn't deserve this nobody does. I've never seen him look this distressed or lost. He always carried a smile on his face and never worried about anything else.

I'm use to seeing his sparkly eyes not his dull lifeless eyes. I approach him but it appears he can't see me. I guess it's a effect of crossing into his world. How do I stop him? How do I save him? What do I do now?

"I've tried fighting constantly, but it's hard when you no longer have a reason to fight. It's hard when you have no one to cheer you on and wait for you on the other side" He spoke.

It seemed like he was speaking to himself. "Please don't go through with this" I cried out loud. No matter how much I yelled he can't hear me.

Turning around he looks up to the sky taking a deep breath. "No way in hell I'll allow this to be your last breath" I yell as he begins to fall back.

Jumping over the edge I grab onto his body and his eyes widen and he gets a grip of me. He looks at my body falling underneath him and makes direct eye contact with me.

"Who are you?"

"You can see me?" I whisper, but before I get a response everything turns black.
