2 The [Wheel of Realities Fortunes]

Time Unknown - Void In-Between Realities

"HELL YEAH!"

The feeling of excitement returned in full force, overwhelming the intense grief I was currently feeling.

'Who would have thought, that out of the billions of people that this could have happened to, it just so happens to be me.'

Although that thought gave me a sudden pause, managing to somewhat dampen my excitement, it still caused my blood to boil.

'But, why was it that I wasn't visited by a guide after I my death?'

It crossed my mind to ask Guardian as to the reasoning behind it, but I decided against it as in my short judgement of Him, He came across as an all powerful being, one whose power could shake the foundations of reality; Not necessarily one who was knowledgeable of all the nuances of it's happenings.

"You are right to think so, Ahmad, for I know what I am needed to know, nothing more, nothing less," stated Guardian, a serene smile beginning to form on his face, as he replied to my inner monologue. "Therefore, the intricacies of what happens after ones death is knowledge that has not been afforded to my being, as it does not fall under my domain. I may have a general idea as to what is meant to happen, but if problems occur, I would not know why it has happened nor how to rectify it."

'Huh..so it would seem. Domains..?'

"Now, Ahmad, you will be afforded boons, ones that will assist you on your journey to becoming MORE, while at the same time traversing between new realities. These booms will be chosen for you by the [Wheel of Realities Fortunes]," said Guardian, suddenly slashing down sharply with his luminous hand.

*BOOMMM*

*CRACK*

Suddenly the void cracked apart impossibly, screeching, crying and fragmenting, to the point of me doubting how it still hadn't broken apart, a vertical slit of absolute darkness appearing at its centre.

My heart clenched painfully in my chest at the causal display of power, and my eyes, my eyes could not stop looking at the all-encompassing abyss within it.

He then made a grasping motion towards the newly formed crack, and out from it emerged an ancient looking wheel, neither too big nor too small: Just the right size for me to spin.

"Ahmad, step forth and approach the Wheel. You will be given three spins, and your luck shall decide what boons will be bestowed upon you from its fortunes," bellowed Guardian, suddenly looking more eager than ever before.

BADDUMPH...BUDDDUMPH

The sound of heart beats and a sense of excitement radiated from the wheel, synchronising with mine as if it were alive, and animated at the prospect of it being spun.

'Just like a child that is about be given candy.'

'What will I get? Will it be a broken powers or a quirky obnoxious system that hands out pointless missions with death as a consequence for not completing them?'

After that quick thought, I remembered novels I read, about main characters hunted down by powerful beings, some even ending up with parasitic systems that end up devouring them; a chill travelling down my spine, burning excitement suddenly doused in cold water.

'Will the boons I receive be parasitic? Will I be hunted down by powerful Gods and beings for having the powers I receive?' I worried, knowing Guardian was able to hear me clearly.

"Worry not Ahmad, for everything bestowed by the [Wheel of Realities Fortunes] belongs wholly to you, and you alone - never to be taken or removed from your being, from your soul, no matter what reality you are in, what body, whatever form you take - it will always be with you," comforted Guardian. "And just to be sure, I will personally place a shield on your soul that only I and one other can peer through." He added.

Worries abated, I made my way towards the wheel, making sure not to let the excitement I felt prevent me from getting a good attempt at spinning it. Grappling the edge of the wheel, I gave it a mighty pull down.

Anxiousness took a hold of my being as I waited with bated breath for it to come to a stop.

Finally after what seemed like an eternity, the wheel stopped.

'Huh, what did I get? Am I supposed to feel something?' I thought, patting myself all over when I felt no different then before.

"You will know what the boons you have received are after you have complete all three spins," replied Guardian, eyes alight with excitement. "It's been so long since it's use, that I have forgotten to mention it to you at the beginning. O mortal, what joy it is to see the wheel in action. If only you understood what was happening, reality would be at your beck and call."

Momentarily ignoring the esoteric knowledge hinted at by Guardian, I grappled at the wheel again and spun it a second time.

And again for a third and final time.

*Ding*

A crisp, piercing sound rang out from the [Wheel of Realities Fortunes] after it came to a stop.

Suddenly, I felt as if I were a balloon overflowing with air and nearing eruption. A sharp painful pinprick of energy originating from the centre of my forehead radiated out, spreading to all the corners of my soul, baptising me with the energy released by the [Wheel of Realities Fortunes].

In my minds eyes, floating cards of texts, each shining with vibrant colours, quickly came to my attention.

[You have received [Realities Blessing]. You will now understand, speak, and be able to write in all languages ever created in the realities you shall visits. You will also be able to utilise and generate endlessly all the power sources used in the realities you visit , without them conflicting with each other and ever bloating up your core, on the condition that you learn how to manipulate them first.]

[You have received [Sages' Wisdom]. Your mind is now an impenetrable fortress which you control every inch of, and will never fall under the influence of anything mortal, magical or divine. You will find it easier to process and understand any and all types of information, and you will find yourself retaining memories longer than humanely possible.]

[You have received [Soul Dimension]. Your soul can now double as a personal dimension, which within you can store anything you wish. Anything stored in there will stay with you when travelling to other realities.]

Words could not even begin to describe how big of a shock I received when reading the description for the three boons; Each complimenting the other perfectly.

'The stuff I could do with these boons; Will do. I'm definitely gonna become ridiculously overpowered.'

"It seems the wheel has chosen for you, Ahmad. Our meeting here together, has come to its end, as all things must, and it is time to send you off to begin your journey across realities. Where you visit and in what order, will not be known to either of us. If you are to die in one, then you will be ejected from it and continue on to another - unless you have made a pact with said reality's personification of Death, and it allows you to revive in the same reality again." said Guardian, looking at me, while waving his hands around for reasons unknown to me.

It was finally settling in, all that has happened from the moment of my death, all that was to happen now. 'Mum, Dad, everyone, I'll be back. I'll make sure of it.'

Taking a moment to breath in and out and with conviction burning brightly in my eyes I looked Guardian in the eyes.

"I'm ready." I said.

"So am I, Ahmad, so am I. But at the end of it all, when you have reached the end, wherever that may be, I'll still be here, waiting, waiting to hear all the fascinating adventures you've had," smiled Guardian, eyes turbulent with emotions I could not discern.

He than pointed his palms towards me an intoned in a voice that I perceived coming from nowhere and everywhere at once, "BEGONE, MORTAL..."

And that was the last thing I heard before I felt a tug in my gut, ripping me from the void in-between worlds and off to an adventure in the unknown.

"...Nay, no longer mere mortal, but one on a the path to become MUCH MORE," whispered Guardian, as a serious expression coloured his face, realisation dawning on him.
