1 Marriage

"I want a girl from a noble family, not those whores you paraded yesterday." Henry spoke with so much anger. Mr Alphonce, Henry 's assistant had been given the responsibility of finding a wife for James who was currently a total embecile.James was born a genius, at the age of eighteen years, he was sent abroad to farther his studies and to prepare him to manage the family business but unfortunately he suddenly fall ill and it was rumored that he had involved himself with illegal drugs.

When Henry received the devastating news, he flew immediately to check on his only son but James was no where to be found. After one full month, by the help of his well managed network, he finally found him in an abandoned warehouse. He was so dirty, drooling and was unable to answer his father despite talking to him for a very long time.

James was taken to one of the best hospitals in the world, all the wealthy that the family had acquired for several decades was all spent in the hospital bill but after three years of treatment he showed no signs of improving. Due to financial constraints Henry finally gave up and he returned home with his son empty handed.

James was twenty eight years when he was returned to his, homeland. All Henry's competitors were aware of the situation, they mocked him inderectly, he lost face before the business elite, what made things worse, he was already old to salvage the business, they were blessed with a baby boy when they were already at the age of playing around with their grandchildren and immediately his wife gave birth, she died few hours after giving birth due to pulmonary embolism.

All that was left for Henry was to make sure that their lineage was secured. When he was abroad, he requested the doctors to check whether James would be able to father a child and he was assured the reproductive system of James was intact, so when they came home he wasted no time looking for a girl to marry to his family.Delilah was betrothed to James immediately she was born, their family in terms of wealth was at par with James's family, due to James's illness Delilah refused to tie the knot with his childhood sweetheart. So Henry tried to look for a girl to get married to James but no noble family was ready to hand their daughters hand in marriage to the devastating family.

Henry decided to sell his remaining assets to raise money to entice girls to get pregnant for his son. Those who accepted the offer were so terrible and majority were whores.While Henry was scolding his assistant, he received a phone call from one of his competitors Mr Aaron. "Goodmorning Mr Henry, I have a daughter who will not only give birth to your grandson but will also take care of your embecile son." He spoke with so much disdain. Henry held his breath, he knew the old fox was after something, he contemplated for few seconds and said. "Name your price." Aaron broke into a laughter and answered, "You are too straight forward, I don't want to waste any of your time, all I want for my daughter's exchange, is you hand over all your shares in Jeca company and you only have two hours to make up your mind before I change my decision." He disconnected the call immediately after stating his condition.

Henry took out his handkerchief, wiped sweat from his forehead and told his assistant to put all paper work ready and to call his family lawyer to the villa. After five minutes all the transfer was completed in the presence of the news reporters. Jeca company was officially transferred to Aaron and automatically he became the Ceo of the company.

Rachael followed the news with so much interest, she had prepared herself psychologically to take care of the embecile and to give birth to his child. She had undergone so much torture since she was a child, her life in Aaron's family was worse than a homeless child, she was reminded severally of how she deserved nothing good since she brought calamity to her own parents. She was supposed to join a nursing school but was turned down and told to look for someone to marry her, she had just turned eighteen years and while cleaning the dogs kennel, she overheard, Mr Aaron discussing about James and how all of a sudden he became the talk of every household, since they were unable to find a suitable girl to marry.

Rachael courageously approached Aaron and told him, she wanted to get married to James, Aaron was astounded, when he realized the girl was serious, he told her he would hand her over to James soonest possible. So after the transfer of the company, Rachael was taken to the civil office to obtain the marriage certificate. On arrival James was in the company of his elderly dad, who constantly wiped saliva from his mouth before it reached the chin.

The scene was devastating, James was not able to utter any word, Rachael was so scared when she saw James for the first time, she was given the marriage certificate to sign of which she did with trembling hands, all that was noticed by the unexpected person. Since James was not fine and was not able to render his signature, they used his thumb print. After that Rachael was officially married to James and was taken to her matrimonial home.

On arrival, no one was at home to welcome them, Henry had dismissed all the servants including his personal assistant, he had no money to pay them, to cut down the cost, he locked all the rooms and left only his room and James's room open. "My daughter, sit here with James as I prepare supper for us,James is not violent and with time you will get used to taking care of him. A part from his speech and drooling, his able to do all other things for himself though he takes so much time to complete simple tasks by himself." He said while handing over the face towel to Rachael to wipe saliva from Jame's mouth. Rachael stood up immediately, without blinking she said. "M.. r. Dad I will cook, kindly show me the kitchen and let me know which food to prepare. I know how to cook almost every thing." Henry was so impressed with his daughter in law, without wasting time he showed her the kitchen and left to accompany his son.

After one hour supper was ready and the family of three sat down and enjoyed the finger licking meal, James was fed by Rachael and for the first time since his illness struck he was able to finish his share. After supper she took the used utensils and washed them. Henry showed her the matrimonial bedroom of which she opened and went inside, it was in a total mess, the bed was not made and clothes were all over the place, she picked all the dirty clothes and put them in a dirty basket and after thorough cleaning of the room and arranging it she finally made the bed. She wanted to take a bath but remembered she had to help James with his bath first.

She walked down stairs to report that the room was ready. While timidly looking at her father in law she said. "The room is ready, may I please take my husband to re..st" Before finishing her statement both father and son started coughing uncontrollably. "Oh... God this girl is sooo.. naive." Thought Henry. "Fine if everything is ready, support him to bed and if you need anything do not hesitate to voice it out." He picked up his walking stick and proceeded to his bedroom.
