2 Chapter 2

Like a chicken breaking out of its egg, I break out of the bubble of thoughts I had inside and flutter my eyes open.

Huh? Where am-

Within my brain, I feel the same grinding and fireworks I felt before; but this time at a horrifying level of pain.

ARGH YOU PIECE OF SHIT-

The folds within my brain were heating up and with the sharp throbbing pain, it felt as if something was taking a good bite out of my meat.

No! Not my meat, my brain!

"FUCK!" I yelled in pain again as another wave of excruciating pain flooded the corners of my mind, almost as if angry at what I had just implied.

I can't be blamed! I was just in too much pain to think!

The pain barked again and forced me to clutch my head with my hands.

What the hell is even happening? Can't I take a damn break?

I was assaulted with pain once again, but now I had a clear idea of what was happening.

My brain was molding, rejecting, accepting, and transforming ideas.

Why though? I literally just did that a moment before.

My concerns are answered by the trickling information and new memories I am receiving. What the hell? These memories are completely dissimilar from the depressing scene I saw earlier.

No, wait! It's exactly the same but different!

This kid, although looked the same as me, was in a completely different situation. He had also just been dumped by his ex but the world seemed totally strange.

Information trickled into my brain and I came into realization it was almost the same world structure but completely altered.

The countries were all jumbled up into one huge continent, who's name is; guess what? Pangaea! The Earth now no longer consists of 7 continents but just a huge landmass. And what's more ridiculous is that it's exactly named the same as how researchers in our world predicted the world to be before. Does that mean our world has been retarded in terms of time on Earth or was it accelerated to once again be Pangaea? What the hell, even more mindblowing is their technology. Did they really achieve all of this by the time the Earth was still Pangaea or is it because it's so far in time?

Frankly speaking, it's not as if they're so far compared to my past life, but it's so luxurious and everything contains technology. The gap in technology is like the 1980s to the 2020s. Although it doesn't sound like much, there was an astronomical amount of improvement, innovation, and advancement of technology during these years.

Now, comparing our world to this world with such a level of advancement, you can picture what we're looking at.

There was a huge subway system that interconnected the whole Pangaea. There were colonies and stations of research on Mars made by robots, though surprisingly there still has been no human sent yet. Even cooler was their integration of technology into anything. What the hell even is this? I'm doing a trash job at explaining but it's mind-boggling, to say the least.

[Author Note: This section of the main character talking to himself is to build the world, and also to express the distress the main character is currently feeling about everything. This is to make the adventure less monochrome and bland unlike most stories out there. If you're despairing at the lack of movement from the plot, just skim through the paragraphs. It won't be the same environment, feeling, or immersion but you won't miss much. Thank you very much.]

Examining the memories slowly entering my brain, I realize this shouldn't be logical at all. If the world was like this, how could man have survived? There's obviously got to be some variable that would disrupt everything. How could there be a variation if the cultures could just pass by each other? How would there be a difference in cultures and the advancement of technology if there was no variation? If they were together so closely, why was the world almost exactly the same as the past one? How would there be a difference in a race if since the beginning of history people were accustomed to seeing different people? How could there be suppression of power if they all lived on the same land, basically had access to the technology developed at that time, and were aware of each other? Was there a Hitler? How did the Roman Empire exist? Was there a need to develop sea travel if there was nothing else on the sea?

Am I being stupid, or does this sound completely illogical?

Not just that, why the hell am I here? It's also completely illogical for me to transfer from walking down the streets in the rain to now being in an identical person's body in a different world.

Are there airplanes?

Yes, there are. Why is there a need for flight if everything's already connected? Just make a subway system. Literally, why were airplanes developed?

What stopped a single power from literally conquering everything in the continent? Weren't some civilizations so powerful they could have literally conquered everything in the world even in the past? In this world, they aren't being discouraged by the distance and sparseness of the world. So how come the world is advanced? WHAT IS THIS!?!? It's a bullshit world with bullshit context. Power of friendship? The hell?

IT'S LIKE A WISH-FULFILLMENT STORY THAT'S AN UTOPIA THAT COMPLETELY MAKES NO SENSE AND JUST DOES THINGS BECAUSE IT CAN!?!?!?!?!

I am going insane. Yes, that must be it. I am just going insane and this is impossible.

Getting out of my thoughts to calm myself, I open my eyes I did not realize I had shut.

ARGH! HOW CAN I CALM DOWN IF I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING OR WHERE I EVEN AM!
