Isekai confirmed!

I didn't need to think much at all…

'All I ever wanted was a second chance…' I clench my fist as I look back up at the Goddess.

"I don't know what you need from me but if…if I can get a second chance then I'll do anything!" I declare.

'Even if I have to sell my soul to the devil himself. Even if I have to walk through Hell itself…I want another chance…' My eyes turn sharp as I look at the Goddess that changed my life.

Memories of that cursed hospital bed, of that feeling of being trapped, I'm sick of it.

'I want to be free just like them…just like the heroes in those books that shone some light on my life…' My eyes go bright as I remember their heroic tales.

Unbeknownst to him, the Goddess had a bright smile on her face as she reads his thoughts.

"Then? What's your choice, kiddo?" The Goddess asks again.

"I accept!" I declare.

"Very well. If that's your choice then you better listen carefully." The Goddess continued as if she had already anticipated my answer.

"You must understand that I can't send you back to your old world. The Karmic Bonds that once connected you to that world have long been severed. What I am giving you is a chance to live in another world of swords and magi-"

"LET'S GOO! ISEKAI CONFIRMED! UNBELIEVABLE!" I exclaim, jubilantly jumping as if I've hit the jackpot (which I have).

"Ara… you seem to be pumped up huh? Well, settle down, and let me explain." The Goddess continued.

"Remember, there's a reason I'm sending you into this world. You have to understand that picking souls and sending them to another world is not as easy as you think, even for us Gods." She discloses.

"The only reason I can send you to 'that' world is because a spot just opened up…" She says.

'A spot just opened up? What does she mean?' I contemplate.

"Sending people to one reality to another is normally very hard and most of the time, there are very specific conditions that must be met. Sending a soul to another reality means putting a hole through the Animaflux Shroud of that same reality. This is normally very disastrous but when specific conditions are met, going through this shroud becomes possible." The Goddess explained.

'The Animaflux Shroud? Well based on the context, I can deduce that it's some kind of barrier that prevents people from entering other realities willy-nilly.' I think to myself.

"Correct! You get full marks! As expected from a guy who had nothing better to do than read trashy fake magic tomes all day!" The Goddess snickered.

"Hey! I was a kid for crying out loud! Let a man dream a little, will ya? ALSO STOP READING MY GODDAMN MIND!" I shot back at her instantly.

"Hahaha…anyway, What I am about to do is send you to the body of a person who is already in that world. Let's say that a spot opened up due to tragic circumstances, or maybe it was lucky for us?" The Goddess thought out loud.

'Tragic circumstances? What?' I think.

"There are many reasons that I chose you specifically to do this job for me but one of the biggest factors is that your Aetheric Resonance is almost the exact replica of the body you're about to transmigrate into. You can also call it Soul Frequency for simplicity." The Goddess explained in detail.

I nod my head as I try to make sense of all of the information she gave me.

"Wait… what happens to the guy I transmigrate into? What happens to his original soul? Am I taking over some innocent guy's body?" I question.

"Well to answer your question, his mind has suffered some severe trauma. The strain on his mind got so worse that it started to affect his Aetheric Balance. Once sufficient trauma has been dealt to the mind, the very mana of the user starts to attack him." She explained.

"That's where you come in. Your Aetheric Resonance is an almost perfect one-to-one match with one another. This is normally impossible but because of special circumstances, that I can't get into right now, it becomes possible." She said.

"In conclusion, you're souls are kinda gonna mix into each other but I understand that you may have some concerns regarding that. The person whose body you're going to take over doesn't really have a sense of self left. So don't worry, you're still going to be you. At most, you will inherit his memories or some habits but it won't affect your soul." She Goddess assures.

I cross my arms in thought as I sigh out loud.

"That's a lot to take in at once." I exhale.

'Wait, what kind of trauma did this guy go through for it to get that bad?' I wonder.

"So? What's this guy like?" I inquire.

"He's actually someone from Earth just like you. Albeit, he's someone from an alternate Earth. There are infinite Earths out there so yeah." She casually mentions as she crosses one of her legs over the other.

'I feel like she just said something wild…well not crazier than the existence of literal gods I guess…' I sigh for the umpteenth time.

"So when do I leave?" I ask her.

"Hold on, I will have to reset that world back in time. A lot of shit went haywire and the world almost got obliterated….and done!" The Goddess beams, her eyes glowing momentarily.

'She said something crazy again! The world was almost destroyed? What the hell! And also, did she just reset a world back in time like it's nothing? Haaah…I should stop questioning everything…'

The boy sighs once again…
