24 Dark Guild 2

"Whoa, it is really just a brat, huh."

There were three people in front of me. One was a bald man with a huge scar on his head; the man who spoke first. In his side, was a blonde beauty, clinging on his shoulder. While the other guy on his back wore a mask that covered his face.

"I'm the Guild Master, Chief. I heard why your here. Well, why don't you take a sit."

After he said that, I calmly took a sit at the couch he was pointing, which was none other than in front of them.

"Well well. How unexpectedly polite if you."

The bald man said, taking out a glass from the table. I deliberately ignored him and took a quick glance onto the guy on his back.

The muscular guy in the front me is obviously just his body double. The real "Chief" is the one behind him.

In the original novel, Athan commissioned the 'Chief' to sabotage Arthur. But, they ended up betraying him at the end and leaked that information to the king, and that evidence was used to order Arthur to eradicate Athan.

Chief himself is originally a former noble who was stripped from the title after being framed.

A noble thief who hates the nobles in power.

Thus...

As long as he understands argument, we shouldn't come with conflict.

"For a young boy like you to come here all alone. I'm sure you're scared."

The blonde woman stood up from his sit and walked towards me, as she slowly reached her hands to my cheeks.

With a light grin, she spoke.

"Why don't you let this big sister take care of you."

Right where her hands was about to reach my cheeks, I slapped it off and continued to stare at the two guys in front of me.

"Sorry, but I don't want to add another sister... Anyways, as you may have expected, I'm here to talk about the girl that ran away from you."

Hearing this, I saw a glint of interest in the bald man's eyes as he spoke up.

"Oh. Is there no chance of you returning her if I asked nicely?"

Resting my chin to my palm at the armrest, I opened my mouth slightly to speak.

"My apologies, but I've already decided to take care of her, so what your asking should be impossible for me to fulfill."

"Then, are you just here to say that we should just give up?"

Squinting his eyes towards mine, he excluded an strong intent that was on par with any C-class monster Cossette has taught me about.

"That's wrong. I'll say this first to remove any misunderstanding. I have no intensions of interfering with your business of human trafficking or anything like that. And beside, I understand that you currently own the rights to her."

"So what? Are you saying that you'll buy the girl?"

Taking out six gold coin from my pocket, I placed it down to the table.

"Of course not. After all, I'm just here to politely ask you to give me the right over Rina."

The bald man looked at me for a second before slumping his back to the couch comfortably, as he let out a laugh.

"...haha. Playing innocent, aren't cha. So..."

Lightly glancing at the girl, he gestured his hands and ordered the girl to check the coins to make sure that they are real.

"They're real."

The girl said, while she continued inspecting the other five coin that was stacked on the table.

"I see... Well, I understand what you're trying to do here."

"Then--"

Right where I was about to speak, he cut me off and continued.

"But, we refuse."

Raising his hands slightly, he raised three of his fingers before saying.

"Thirty-gold coin."

"Wha-"

The bald man didn't give me enough time to react as he continued speaking.

"Don't ask for stock price, understand? After all, I bought her from someone else."

Letting out a mischievous grin, he squinted his eyes towards mine.

"What wi--"

"I accept."

This time, it was his turn to become shock. Taking out a bag full of gold coins from my pocket, I placed them all on the table with a smirk.

"Y-you!"

"Now, are you trying to take back what you just said?"

It took a couple of seconds before the bald man let out a long sigh and accepted the money.

"Fine. But wait, their parents still have dept left. Are you going to save the children but abandon their parents?"

Crossing my arm to my chest, I squinted my eyes and looked towards him.

"Oh. Didn't the thirty coins I paid you earlier cover that? Or did I just expect too much from you?"

"You bastard."

The bald man's eyes twitched as he glared hatefully towards me.

"Also, since their parents dept is already covered from what I paid you. If you ever try and do something to them, I might as well eliminate you when that time ever come."

Biting his lower lips, he stares deep-in to my eyes for a couple of seconds before saying.

"What a creepy kid. Giving threats like that. Are you even fi-"

"It's six. Also, what I said wasn't a threat, it was merely a fair warning. Anyways, I do hope we get along with each other in the future."

I stood up from my sit walked towards the door and stopped after my hands reached the doorknob.

"Since you guys have already got enough information about me. I'm just saying that I'll have you call me 'Blanc' from now on... Mr. Chief."

After that, Athan left the room leaving the bald man dumbfounded by his actions. Though, it didn't take long for the bald man to let out a long sigh.

"Good grief, what a cheeky brat."

"Really? I thought he was cute."

"Doesn't he ignored you back there?"

Hugging herself tightly, she let out a chuckle.

"Kufufufu. That itself was is good. To not be swayed by womanly charm."

While the two continued talking, the man with a mask or should I say the real 'Chief' rested his back on the wall.

"So, boss... How was he?"

"..."

The masked man didn't answered.

"I panicked a little when I heard that a noble took them. But this way, we've gained a connections with a count."

This time, when the bald man said that, the masked guy slightly opened his mouth and said.

"Yeah, that's true."

Although his voice was calm, inside he was thinking of something else.

"That kid, he saw right through us."

""Huh?!""

Both if them looked at the masked guy in shock when they heard what he said.

Children never tends to forget about their parents. By this, they could easily get them back if ever they're just shown a glance of parental love.

But about what that boy did back there... And the fact that he already prepared thirty-gold coin in advance made Chief become weary.

"That boy saw everything that we're planning and already made counter measure to those before we could even have a chance to execute it."

"What do you mean by that?"

After that, the masked man started his explanation.

"You see, in order to turn those kids into our spies, we need to get ahold over their parents. To do that, we need to take over their depts. In contrast to that, so that their parents won't get used, he's showing that it's better for someone to take care of those siblings. So basically, he was using his connections."

"Of course, he could just taken in their parents too. But that boy was actually telling us to pay off the parent' dept off with those thirty gold coins. If he had taken in the parents, he would have saved time and money. But by making the connections and getting along with the Lohengramm family, they might come to a request in the future."

Placing his fingers to his chin, the bald man said.

"If that's the case, we just need to break our end of the deal and it's the end for him... In the end, he's just a naive brat."

The masked man walked towards the window when he heard what the bald guy said before saying.

"If he were just a normal kid, I'd be that simple. Though if I were him, I'd do the same method he was using... But from the look of his eyes, he seems to be planning something more big."

"Wait a sec. Huh? Doesn't that mean there's no reason for us to take the parents in?"

Taking the a glass of wine from the table, the masked man took a sip before answering.

"That's right."

Since their parents have basically asked their children to shoulder their depts, so normally you would think that they're bad parents.

"Whoa. Then what was that all about?"

The bald guy tried to think carefully.

"I have no idea too..."

The blonde woman answered.

But that boy is telling them to make sure that their parents live to see the day they reunited with their children.

Taking the masked from his face, the Chief smiled.

"So now that you understand the dark side of this country, you're willing to accept it, huh..."

The Chief muttered to himself.

"Indeed,it seems like we'll do get along for a long time... Sir Blanc."
