"It's still surreal, though. I mean, how did that even happen?" I mumbled.

"I don't know…"

I saw Noah's dull expression and felt sheepish again.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything bad."

"I know," Noah sighed deeply. "Anyway, I am glad that you are okay."

We didn't really talk that much afterward because we were both lost in thought, confused at the current state of things.

Noah, in particular, was obviously and especially bothered by his situation and I can't blame him. If I were in his shoes, I would be bewildered as hell, too.

I observed him quietly for a while, not because I was suspicious of him, but more like—I don't know, curiosity? I was just curious. How would he handle it? What does he think about it? Did he perhaps knew anything? But seeing him so gloomy made me felt silly and pitied him.

How can I suspect him when he's this affected?
