2 2 - UNLUCKY DAY
Soon groups of students began to enter the classroom and take their places, some of them were friends who had known each other for some years. In their classroom, most of the students were human, with the only three exceptions being the demoness and the two Aldey, a humanoid race, very similar to humans in general, but their skin was usually light blue and they had two small horns growing out of their heads.
While the students sat down, it didn't take long for the teacher to arrive, he was an old man with long white hair and a powerful beard that exuded an aura of knowledge. He touched the slate and a yellow light appeared on his finger, with it, he wrote some rune words that translated could be read as, "Magic is something that exists within our souls."
"My name is Walon Jordanden, and I will be your teacher of abjuration this year." He sat in his chair. "As today is your first day at the academy, we will not have a normal class, however, there are some things to be explained and decided on today. But don't worry, seeing as most of you are friendly to each other, I believe you will be able to make your choices easily."
Walon's eyes swept the crowd of students looking at him, he took a file out of his bag and looked at it for a while before closing it.
"You will have to decide who will be the class representative and its deputy. You have 10 minutes, good luck." He waved his hand and some kind of headset popped out of nowhere, except that it was meant to literally prevent any sound from reaching his ears, and so he wore it and fell asleep.
"EEEH?" Everyone looked at each other and facepalmed, just what is the problem of this teacher? Asking them to make such decisions just after enrolling at the academy!
Victor and Jaden sighed at this situation, it was very unexpected. The students discussed among themselves who they should choose, but there was almost no progress, things only changed when Elliblex Mephisto got up and went to the front of the class, she touched the slate and started writing her name on it.
They looked at her without understanding, until she finally decided to explain.
"Anyone who wants to be the representative or deputy write your name on the board, we will vote, the one with the highest number of votes will be the representative, the second-highest number will be the deputy."
The girls instantly agreed with her and some of them stood up to write their names as well, while most of the boys whispered between themselves, knowing that she was going to try for the position, they decided that it would be better for them to not participate, leaving the work for the girls seemed like a good idea.
But before they could all voice their agreement, the teacher suddenly opened his eyes and said with a playful smile on his face. "Oh! I almost forgot! The position needs to taken by at least, one boy and one girl." Having said that he closed his eyes and went back to sleep.
The boys almost choked after hearing his words.
"Tsk! What should we do then? Does anybody wants to take that position, I'm almost sure that girl will be the representative..." One of the boys whispered.
They looked at each other and could only arrive at one conclusion, they would have to sacrifice one of their own.
"You know what, I think the boy with the highest score should take that position, who knows, maybe she won't torture a fellow scholar right?"
"Oho, that's a good idea, Ivor!" One of them replied, they even started smiling subconsciously, based on his suggestion they had the perfect prey.
Hearing their suggestion, Victor's face paled, how could those traitors do that to him! At least he still had one good friend to support him...
"Um, I agree, Victor should take that position, I'm pretty sure he can handle himself in it!" Jaden had a diabolical smile as he spoke.
'AH!? How could you do that to me, I thought friends always helped each other...'
As Victor almost started crying over his bad luck, Ivor had a few question marks hovering above his head, why was everyone with those silly smiles on their face, was it because of his suggestion? Was it funny? He could only ponder over the meaning of that.
And soon, they finally decided, the representative would be Elliblex and her deputy, Victor. As Victor silently cried, some girls looked at him with anger, they were envious of him because they wanted to work with her.
Seeing those angered eyes comparable to the eyes of evil beasts he could only gulp, somehow he could feel the atmosphere becoming more and more dangerous as the seconds passed.
"Very well, since you've already decided, you're free to go home or visit the clubs, but before you leave. Elliblex, Victor." The teacher said.
"Yes?" Both of them replied at the same time.
"Distribute these pamphlets to the students." He pointed to a stack of paper on his table. "After that, you're free to go, farewell everyone, I hope we will have a good year together."
Seeing the teacher leaving the classroom, Victor sighed and stood up, he went to the table and took the stack of papers and was about to distribute them, but he felt someone staring daggers at him.
"What are you doing?" She asked while tapping her feet on the floor.
"Eh? I was... distributing the pamphlets?"
She extended her hand, but he only looked at it.
"What are you waiting for?!" She frowned while looking at him.
"Ah? What are you talking about?"
She had an annoyed look at her face and took the entire stack of paper from his hands, she took half of it before giving the rest back to him, and going to the other side of the class in order to distribute them. Victor could only gulp at her actions, she had this scary aura around her, it was difficult to think when he was next to her.
After doing that, he and Jaden left the classroom and were about to go out of the academy, when someone stopped them.
"I'm sorry, but... Are you Victor and Jaden?" A cute girl a little bit shorter than Jaden spoke to them, she had long curly blonde hair and emerald green eyes.
Jaden looked at the girl and frowned, he felt like he had seen her, but he couldn't remember when or where he saw such a cute girl before.
"Yes, you are from our classroom, right? You were sitting at the back of the class I think..."
"Mm," she nodded with a smile on her face. "Don't you guys remember me?"
Victor and Jaden looked at each other and shook their heads.
"Really? Ah... how predictable, you know I'm not that different from when we were younger." She pouted making Jaden blush a little.
However at that time, something clicked on his head, and he finally remembered who she was.
"You... You are Kelly!?"
"Oh!" She smiled at Jaden and held his hand. "So you remember! I'm so glad!"
"That can't be... you... you changed so much!" Victor couldn't help but blink trying to make sure there wasn't any problem with his eyes.
When they were younger she had a really childish face, but now she was way more feminine than back them, he wouldn't be able to recognize her even if he had a thousand years to guess, he looked at Jaden and gave him a knowing smile, 'As expected of the lovestruck boy, he recognized her so easily, haha!'
"Do you guys want to go home together, I still live in the same place as before."
"Yes! Let's go together then, hehe." Jaden had a silly smile on his face and was still blushing.
Victor only shook his head and sighed. "I won't be able to go back with you, my house is near the Academy, anyway, it was good seeing you again, I see you guys tomorrow."
He bid his farewell and left the two alone.
On the way he looked at the landscape and couldn't help but think about today's situation, he didn't know how the rest of the year would be, but he was definitely in a dangerous situation...
"Hopefully those were just rumors, and she isn't that bad of a person..."
He was about to keep walking when he heard someone behind him.
"Who are you talking about."
He turned to look at the person and almost choked, damn, he must be the most unlucky guy of the day.
"Oh, miss Mephisto, I didn't saw you there, hehe... I was... Uh... talking about... A friend of mine, yup, that's it."
She narrowed her eyes, and approached him, with each step he could feel the pressure around him increasing literally. When she was just a few inches away from his face, she backed away.
"I see, I hope you won't be like the other boys, It would be a shame if I hade to educate you." She gave him some sort of warning and walked past him.
He looked at her back and after swallowing, he really had a terrible thought... 'She's kind of cute huh...'
