11 Begin the trip

"So you have finished your planning?" a voice asked

"Ah, my new friend, Yes we have and I believe we have you to thank for these gifts?" Shawn asked

"Ha, Friend? I haven't heard that in a while, but maybe... I came to speak with you..." the man said

"Haha, would you prefer I call you Dionysus or Mr.D? but what would you like to speak about? come sit down" Shawn said gesturing to the bench across from him,

"Dionysus is fine, But I came to explain some part of your quest, Actually more to ask a favor of you..." Dionysus said summoning a cola and sitting on the bench with a grim smile,

"Which part would that be? and name it," Shawn asked getting more serious,

"Within the Oracle's words, there was a line, "Of Mindless Twins..." They are my children from a long time ago... they committed many sins in my name and refused to stop even when I told them to, their last act was the sacrifice of an entire city which was again in my name, I was disgusted by their acts and banished their souls for them to walk the earth for eternity for their horrid deeds, their bodies to live on without souls an eternal punishment on its own... I had turned my eyes from them ever since and moved forward, But if you are to meet them on your quest I want you to use this..." The God said passing two necklaces identical in their simplicity a chain holding a goblet with grape vines growing around it.

"What will they do?" Shawn asked Understanding that it wasn't the time to ask more questions than necessary,

"It will lift their curse and allow them to move on... I Believe a thousand years has been long enough for their crimes and it is time for them to move to the afterlife... the necklaces will be bound to you until they are used," Dionysus explained taking occasional sips of his cola which seemed to ease his mood,

"I will not ask further then, If I truly do come across them I will do the best I can to see it done..." Shawn said,

"I wish your quest well my boy, be wary of the guardian of the flame, however, The ones who made Avalon were no fools and were prepared for thefts of there greatest treasure" With that said Dionysus erupted into wine and was cast along the night wind,

"I think it is time for rest..." Shawn said to himself

a knock was heard behind him, "Unfortunately not yet, I have a few words of my own..." a voice said to him,

Behind him standing roughly six feet three inches was a man with black hair and sea green eyes, he wore simple clothing with dark blue jeans and a wool jacket with a Trident Pin it the Lappel, "Hello, Shawn"

"Father?" Shawn asked

"That is correct, Unfortunately, I was granted only five minutes so let us get to the reason I am here, Your quest inst a simple one... Should you go through with this you have a 60 Percent chance of death... However, you do not have to go on this quest The thief does not need to be caught by you, and you do not need to die for a quest... You are my son and I want you to live a long and happy life, you will have my support either way however you choose,"

"If I do not then someone else will, I have already decided to Live long, no quest will change that, the thief will be caught one way or another but the sooner the better, as see it If it isn't me then who? Percy? he is not ready... but one day he will be" Shawn said glancing at Percy's sleeping form,

"you are brave and of strong heart, Shawn, Do you know why you were named Shawn?" Poseidon asked,

"I never thought about it..." Shawn said

"A long time ago back when the Titans and God's were at war there was a man with no strength but he had will and courage beyond any I have Known He managed to become the first mortal Scorcerer with his will alone he forced the elements to bend to his will and he became nearly Immortal, He then sacrificed himself to save millions of people from the Titans, In the end he saved the human race single-handedly with his will and heart alone, his Name was Shawnal and he became my savior as during the war against the Titans I was wounded quite gravely and fell to his city and he saved my life and inspired me greatly" Poseidon said

"Through will alone? Impressive hs it ever happened since?" Shawn asked

"not once... but that is for later you have decided to follow your heart and do what needs to be done, for that you have my support, take this with you may it aid you in your travels my son," Poseidon said handing Shawn a ring,

"this is a magic artifact I carried when I was at war with the Titans, It's Power has dimmed but may it serve you well, With this, our time is up, Remember I love you both!" Poseidon said before turning to water and returning to the ocean,

Shawn looked at the ring and tried to activate it, after a minute of trying the Ring morphed and changed to Sword that looked like it could shred steel like butter, then a thought came to Shawn,

"System, Can you merge this Sword with my other sword?"

"Yes, Would you like to do so? Y/N?"

"Yes"

the Ring that was on his finger morphed into the sword he already had and with the sword, his father gave him they floated next to each other vibrating and then they seemed to swap essences faster and faster and then they morphed forming a Sword that seemed to be made of moonlight holding a star in the pommel and a small guard of solid starlight, the sword was beautiful and he could feel the power it held course through him he felt like a single swing could cut a mountain in half even the greatest foe would be no challenge to him as long as he wielded the blade,

"Would host like to name the blade? Y/N?"

"Yes Name it... "
