Chapter 28: Avenging Couple

On our way back home Rou tried out his new summoning ability as well as a few other skills. Unfortunately he ended up not being careful and triggered Dhampmi's blood lust which lead to a chain reaction. Luckily he defused the problem quickly. After that we got back on road taking the shortest route home and let the familiars do the hunting. Xue Hua also brought the pups that have grown these few days with her.

Houjin: Seriously why can't you just tell me how my girls are doing. It's not like it will take a lot of effort on your part.

For the last few hours I have been begging Rou to tell me how the human girls I left at home were doing. The reason is that when we told them we will be there soon. Seiji told me that they had a surprise waiting for me when I got there. As I kept bothering Rou we noticed something off in the distance. We stopped the carriage and run in the direction of the noise. At the same time I used my spirit eyes to give us an idea of what going on. What we saw was a village in ruins and a young man holding a young woman in his arms. As we got closer I could hear the sounds of him begging her not to die. Eventually he arrived in the town to his exact spot but we were instantly attacked by him. Not wanting to kill him Rou moved to knock him out and I checked the girl. From what I can tell her vitality is severely drained meaning no amout of regular healing can help. Lucky for her I have the perfect method to save her. I transfered some of my over flowing life force into her body. When I did her shallow breathing became clear and her cheeks rosie. Then I had Rou heal any wounds she may have had left.

After treating her we woke the young man up by splashing water on his face. When he woke up the first thing he did was check the girl. Once he heard her calm breathing tears came streaming down his face.

,Houjin: Relax she won't be dying anytime soon but still I hope you can tell me what the hell happened here.

Taking a minute to calm down the young man told us his story. His village was actually attacked by Aurtirumu not long ago. The young man had returned to the village after being dragged off to propose. However we he arrived everyone except for the young girl had died. By pure luck before the monster can finish them off it ran away. The rest was as we saw. After hearing his story Rou cracked a smile.

Aporou: What if I told you that we can help you get revenge on not only Aurtirumu but also the one controlling.

He then continued with his temptations for a while before the young man agreed to join us. The reason is because we saved the love of his life. Once that was over with we burned down the rest of the village and left. By the time we made it back the young girl also woke up. She immediately begged us to teach her how to fight so she can help Avenger. Avenger was completely against the idea while Rou that he should stay out of it.

Houjin: You know by choosing to fight you will be required to kill an unknown number of people. Hell we even might have you slaughter children are you really okay with doing that.

Young woman: If it were before then those words you just said would have scared me off. Now however we only have each other left ,so I refuse to let him fight alone. If you will have him walk the path to hell then I will definitely have to be there with him.

Since her eyes were filled with pure determination I decided to have her join us. Once my decision was made a message played in our heads.

With that I finally have my first subordinate but still now I have to think of ways to train her. Seeing as she grew up in a village her entire life I will be starting from level zero.

Now I have a lot more motivation to add more people under my command. I talked with Flora for a while about possible weapons for her to use. Originally I thought she choose something like the sword but she surprised me by picking the bow. She did this so she can always have her man's back. To be honest I was happy she picked the bow. For the most part it is pretty easy to teach since it mostly relyed on form. While we traveled and trained news about Asue evolving reached our ears. Everyone was happy but Dhampmi seemed to be bothered by something. I left her to Rou while I found out something about my future growth. Apparently at one point in my cultivation I will need to form something called a soul core. The thing is that my soul core can be anything but once formed there is no going back.
