13 Day 61 - 65

-Day 61

I decided to go hunting this morning. Not for any particular reason and Sigul decided to come with me stating the same reasoning. At one point, I decided to see how well my {Dullahan} could fare against the monsters in the wilderness so I brought it out and gave it a simple war axe. It brought us back quite a few creatures with no damage to itself. I wonder if the ghosts I summon are real people because if so, I get the feeling that this one was a warrior in life. Of course, it could also just be adapting to its new body.

Sigul was curious about this too so I figured I would summon another ghost to see if we could find out. The first Spirit was a little different to the normal ones, constantly screaming. I immediately ate it just to shut it up and earned the {Fortune}, {Misfortune}, {Banshee} and {Banshee Screech} skills. After we could hear each other again, Sigul explained that a banshee spirit would normally only appear if a soul was separated from the body while still dying of unnatural causes. Now, thanks to the {Banshee} skill which seems to have automatically been added to {Lesser Summoning: Undead} I can bring forth an army of the loud bastards if I wanted.

We continued hunting for the rest of the day and Sigul gained a good amount of experience. When we returned Rou was in the middle of torturing some humans so I went ahead and watched while Sigul waited beside me to try to figure out why such a thing was necessary.

According to Rou and the screaming humans, they attacked a group of elves heading to a ritual, systematically murdering them all before they had a chance in an attempt to take one high elf girl captive. This, understandably, caused Sigul to lose her temper for the first time. I could just about see the aura of contempt for the humans responsible rising out of her. She asked if she could be excused and when I asked what she was going to do, she replied by saying that she wanted to let off some steam by going hunting. I told her it was okay but to stay away from both humans and elves for the time being. There's no need to start something before the time is right. She did calm down a little when I told her that we would get justice for the fallen.

After Rou was done torturing the humans, he killed and ate them, inviting me to join which I wholeheartedly accepted, dining on their souls. {Job: Secret Unit} {Job: Bounty Hunter} {Job: Hermit} {Fathom Circumstances} {Donation} {Unlock} {Remove Trap} {Sense Trap} {Sense Enemy} {Improved Assassination} {Hidden Weapon Mastery} {Slaughterer} {Headhunting} {Spirit Slash} {Ambush} {Needle Shot} {Throw} {High Pain Resistance} {Charm Resistance} {Assassination Resistance} learned.

- Day 62

The next day, as the elf girl remained asleep, I served as a partner for training and other purposes for Sigul to relieve her pent up stress and frustration.

A while later, the high elf girl woke up and Rou began talking to her. She sprouted wings in surprise at first but calmed down after I walked in with a polite and well mannered step that my high quality looking clothes helped with and gave the pair some herbal tea that I created using {Herbal Tea Creation} I got a while ago. She was surprised by my manners and apparently the tea was quite delicious. When I caused a chair to erupt from the ground and sat on it, the high elf girl was admittedly startled but calmed down again after Rou told her "He does that sometimes." I'm glad to see someone has gotten used to it.

[High elf girl] Um...will your servant continue to sit here with us?"

Bitch, what did you just say?

Rou quickly tried to calm me down which I reluctantly did and Rou explained to the girl that in terms of power, I would likely beat him. She began to look at me in a new light but sorry, you've already ruined my opinion of you.

When Rou told her what had happened, she began to cry and flailed at him, calling him cold. It's funny that she thinks that's an insult to a literal monster. When Rou told her that there was likely a traitor in the elves midst, she grew silent for a moment, unable to comprehend it before breaking down and crying. Seriously, it keeps happening.

When Rou told the girl that he would escort her back to her home tomorrow, I asked if I could join her, if only to find a way to calm Sigul down. Rou agreed and we went to sleep for the night.

{Kei's subordinate <Sigul> has achieved the requirements to rank up}

{Rank up to Sentinel available}

{Do you wish to Rank up subordinate <Sigul> Yes/No}

It looks like I get to choose. I wonder what Sigul would go with...I suppose it's up to me and if it makes her stronger...

{Do you wish to Rank up Subordinate <Sigul> Yes/No.}

- Day 63

In the morning, Sigul came running to me, knocking me to the ground as she hugged me tightly. When I asked what this was about, she revealed that she now had a pair of golden white, feathery wings on her back. She exclaimed to me how happy she was to have attained the new form and continued hugging me for quite some time. She finally removed herself when she heard a gasp from behind us. It turns out that Rou and the high elf girl had come to fetch me. Once she stood up, embarrassment finally setting in, I noticed the blue tattoo on her neck. Another one...it seems pretty obvious that they have these things because of me.

By the time we left, it was decided that Rou, Kichi, Myself and Sigul would go on the trip. Apparently Sentinels, which is what Sigul is now, are looked up to as heavenly figures by elves and humans alike. They're denoted as being bringers of justice and banishers of evil. I looked back to Sigul as the high elf girl explained this and she shrugged with a smile on her face, saying that she only knew that they were much more powerful than Valkyries, given that they're the ranked up form but she still took pride in the idea of what her new race is like.

We continued to make idle chatter until we all noticed the presence of quite a few elven archers with seemingly hostile intentions. My first reaction was to place my hand on the hilt of my sword, as did everyone else, until the high elf girl ran out in front of us, claiming that we were her saviours. Quite bold don't you think after calling me a servant.

After a short quarrel which was quickly sorted by the high elf girls authority, we were led to the village. Apparently elves live in trees which...isn't all that surprising if I'm honest, considering that their ranked up form has wings.

When we finally met the chief, he was an aged looking elf which is probably saying something about his experience if I'm not mistaken about an elves lifespan and he introduced himself quite fluently, asking us to take a seat. Neither Rou or myself were able to sit on the chairs since we way more than they can support, so Rou resigned himself to sitting on the floor while I opted to stand, honestly worried about if the floor could take it.

Eventually, we managed to fit everyone in with enough room for us all. I made sure Sigul got inside since she looks similar to a human if she doesn't have her wings out. After the chief thanked us for the same return of his daughter, Rou switched on "Mercenary Mode" and told the chief that he certainly didn't do any of this for free. By the look on her face, I don't think Sigul enjoyed it but we ended up receiving their only heirloom as a reward. A bow called Failnaught, an ancient class weapon that uses magic as arrows so it technically never runs out.

In appreciation for the magnificent gift, negotiations continued for a while longer, with Rou promising to share the movements and any other useful information about the human army we are able to gain in the future. This calmed down Sigul when I quietly explained that this was the best we could do for the time being. Trade of equal value so that the elves don't start thinking they can manipulate us to their whims like the pompous elf from before. Speaking of which, the chief asked us if we knew anything about what happened to him but we all played innocent, even Sigul.

As soon as the elf chief gave Rou some alcohol he started losing it, saying that we'd help them at any time, free of charge. Luckily, it seems that the chief is good natured enough to simply laugh the comment off. We went home following this and had a taste of the elves alcohol Rou was so excited about. It was nice.

- Day 64

Quite a few things occurred today. First of all, Mi ranked up into a Dhampir variant, a half vampire species. She now has silver hair, red eyes with golden pupils and a light blue skin colour. Her strength is astonishing for one with her body type. Since her race has an extremely strong {Evil Eye} and {Charm} skill, she's being made to wear a pair of glasses that seal these abilities. I asked Rou why he just happened to have these and he replied by saying Velvet. Just Velvet.

The next item on the list, is that another group of goblins ranked up to hobgoblins. Seven to be exact. Two mages and one cleric that seems to enjoy the resident cleric, Ji's attention.

After that, Gobue showed up in the form of a Half Earth Lord. She's grown so much that she had to replace the bandages she uses as a makeshift bra and even after gaining a new jacket she either decided to leave it open or she physically can't because of the amount of muscle she has. Honestly, I'd be inclined to believe either reason. She has two horns on her head and an {Ogre Orb} on both of her elbows. Returner, who had been with her since this morning, told us about her incredible new ability called {Complete Geological Comprehension} that lets her see through the fragile points of the rock and push her hobby to the extreme.

After this, I found out that Sato had ranked up to a Half Blood Lord. Her skin and hair are both red and she has an Ogre Orb on the back of both of her hands. She's capable of manipulating blood to create weapons as well as various other things that I'm sure I'll witness if we do intend to join the war between the elves and humans.

One thing to note, is that seemingly everyone, other than Dou, has obtained a black tattoo somewhere on their body. Even I have one on my forehead but I don't feel any sort of connection so I'll just be thinking of it as something else entirely. Another thing to note is that of those that ranked up today, not one of them had a coloured tattoo similar to the orange diamond on my forehead. So far the people that do have them are Dou, Fu, Sei, Sigul and myself.

Ogarou as he's calling himself now, proceeded to rename everyone using their traits and rank ups as catalysts for the names. I didn't really pay attention to it since I generally just called them without the "Gobu" part of their names but I did get to see Sei in an amusing position when the girls posed after receiving their updated names. I also received one which ended up being something along the lines of Gurukei. Honestly though, the only person I think I'll call by their new name is Gobue, now Asue, since I'd literally just be saying "E" if I got rid of the additions.

Since we've recently had a few new recruits and rank ups, Rou took it upon himself to create a list of rankings in terms of racial power, not including the individuals own abilities.

1: Dhampir (Mi)

2: Half Spell Lord (Sei)

3: Sentinel (Sigul)

4: Half Earth Lord (Asue)

5: Half Gale Lord: (Dou)

6: Half Blood Lord (Sato)

7: Ogre (Rou, Kichi)

8: Ghoul (Kei, Fu)

9: Elf

10: Common Soldier Kobold

11: Kobold

12:: Hobgoblin

13: Human

14: Goblin

It's a little odd that the third rank up I was offered is ranked so low but I suppose that's just how things go. I am a Variant and my power easily beats out Mi so I'll just accept it for what it is.

I spent the rest of the day working on my golems while Rou "initiated" the last of the elves that succumbed and convinced them to wear the ear cuffs.

Today's results:

Golems: 10 rock golems.

Synthesis: {Screech} + {Banshee Screech} = {Banshee's Uproar}

- Day 65

While everyone else spent the day training, I decided to go hunting again with my pets. I sent them out with a blood clone attached so I could keep track of how they were doing. They seemed to be doing fine so I did some hunting of my own. That's when I came across something that made me smile. A hind bear with red fur and seemed to be busy eating something it had previously roasted. So you're the new "Lord of the Mountain" Huh? Let's see what Rou was talking about.

Is what I said but with {Fire Manipulation} on my side, it's breath attacks did zero damage and a single, half-hearted attack was enough to knock it flat. A little disappointed by this creature who was said to be able to take down an Ogre, I tamed it on a whim, thinking that maybe Rou would get a kick out of it.

What I wasn't expecting is that when I returned, my lizard family seems to have ranked up. They've each obtained a similar form, they've grown larger and each of them have grown another head that appeared to work independently yet in unison with the original head and had different colour markings that I found out meant that they could breathe a different kind of element. Nuria gained Lightning, Aedus gained Earth, Vukan gained Wind, Brand gained a second Fire head, Delia gained Light and Egan gained Water.

When I returned to the settlement, a few goblins were terrified of my entourage, especially of Fluff the mountain lord. I told him that I would give him a better name if he gets stronger and remains a reliable comrade to the one he ends up working with. Rou had a good laugh when he saw and the mountain lord ended up serving under him as well, finding a friend in Rou's Hind bear, Kumajiro.

Kumajiro and Fluff. What a pair they'll make.

Golem results: 10 Rock golems.
