1 Cliché Beginning

"Child. I am sorry to tell you this. You are dead."

"Wait! What did you mean by that? Who are you? Where are we? What's going on?"

I demand answers from the old man sitting across the table to clear up my confusion.

We are in a white room, and I am sitting on a comfortable couch. There is a table made of white marble between me and the old man.

Speaking of the old man, he has wrinkles and pure white hair and is wearing a casual shirt and a pair of dark brown slacks. His appearance seems ordinary if not for his intense blue eyes.

"You see, I'm Supreme God. The Creator of All. Anyway, I often descended and disguised as a mortal to kill my boredom. You know, killing time by experiencing my sentient creation's advancement first hand and all. So, this is what happened. After one of my excursions on Earth, I was going back, but my Nintendo 3DS slipped off my greasy hand. It accidentally caved your skull," says God.

(What the *uck?! There's no way I am dead!) I deny the possibility of my death.

I am young, not even twenty years old. I have life awaiting me. There are many things I have yet to enjoy and experience.

More importantly, I want to read the new volume and chapter of my favorite novels, fanfiction, and manga, and watch the new episode of those anime I follow and play games that will release soon. I'm a nerd, but unlike those fatty, bespectacled nerds, I'm fit and have an above-average appearance with shaggy dark brown hair and light brown eyes.

To be honest, I've been keeping the nerdy side of me as a secret. If I haven't done that, my friends would've kicked me out of their circle and mocked my 'uncool' interests. Peer pressure sucks, you know.

All that aside, back to the main issue.

"So, what's going to happen now? Are you going to send me to heaven? No, I'm guessing that I'm gonna end up in hell, am I not?"

"It's true that you have negative karma because of your…other hobby. But, I felt responsible for your premature death and decided to take a page from those Isekai novels and fanfiction."

I felt trepidation when I heard his first sentence, but I became curious and expectant after hearing his next sentence. To be honest, this feels familiar…

"So, this is my offer for you. Would you like to be transmigrated in another world? I even allow you to choose your destination. Also, you can freely request a single power. What's your answer?"

Many people would feel happy and excitation after listening to God's offer, but I am not. I feel suspicious.

"Why did you feel responsible for the death of someone like me? You could just chuck me in hell, not like I want it to happen. But… You know what I meant, right?" I try to find his angle.

"I will answer your question with mine: what would you feel when you accidentally break up an old habit that has turned into a compulsive force because of doing it for a long time?"

I contemplate my answer for a bit. I imagine the scenarios in my head. It's easy to imagine because I've experienced something like that…when I was still alive. "I'd feel annoyed because something feels amiss I think," I answer.

"That…" God nods his head, "…is what I'm feeling. After following my own self-imposed rules to never directly affect mortals' destiny for countless years, it has become a habit that compels me to follow it through or something feels amiss if I break it such as what is happening now. Ultimately, I'm doing this for my own sake than yours, Child."

"If you have that kind of self-imposed rules, you shouldn't descend to the mortal world," I feel like I need to point that out.

"As I said, I was bored. However, I agree that your premature death is my fault. To be honest, I shouldn't have turned off my Omniscience. But, I wanted to enjoy my excursion, and my Omniscience would stop me having fun because I'd always know what would happen," rants God.

"I see…" I nod, understanding God's angle. Then, I steer our talk to the main issue, which is God's offer. "You said you'll let me transmigrate in another world. Also, you offered me a single wish. You're serious, right?"

"I'm serious, Child."

"Then, I will ask for Omnipotence for my power."

"Hmmm… You ask something big, but I have promised to you. However, I couldn't grant you the same Omnipotence I have. Yours is downgraded to Omniversal-Class."

"Omniversal-Class? What was that?"

"Think of it as a power-level. From the lowest to the highest, they are Mortal-Class, Divine-Class, World-Class, Star-Class, Universal-Class, Multiversal-Class, and finally Omniversal-Class. Your power can be considered as top tier. However, I'm above such a concept because I created them."

God seems proud when he boasts his prowess.

"By the way, I don't care about what you are gonna do with your second life, but if you become a threat to my creations as a whole, I'll smite you! Remember this, Child."

I nod my head furiously and keep God's warning close to my heart.

"Now, where do you want to transmigrate to?"

"Excuse me. I have a question."

"What's it?"

"Do the world of manga, anime, novel, and game exist?"

"They are. So, tell me where do you want to go."

I think for a bit. I want to go to some fictional worlds or universes where I can fulfill my fantasies. I want to be like those OP Isekai Harem Protagonists.

(Naruto? No… One Piece? Bleach? Maybe, High School of the Dead? Highschool DxD sounds good. Danmachi? What about Fairy Tail? Arifureta? Rising of the Shield Hero? Perhaps, Fate/Stay Night? Death March? Or Harry Potter? Where should I go?) One by one, the series that I've watched or read appear in my mind. I even contemplate my favorite Xianxia works such as Against the Gods and Tales of Demons and Gods.

"Child, could you choose quickly?" asks God, forcing me to stop my contemplation.

"Sorry. I don't know where I should go…" I have an idea. I ask for God's assistance, "Could you kindly send me to a random fictional world? At the very least, it must be a world that I intimately know of…"

"Now, then. I'll send you to your destination. Now, prepare yourself!"

I brace myself for what's going to happen. Then, I fall unconscious. At least, God has warned me beforehand.
