2 Under the blue moon

Well recapping. I'm currently around 10 minutes old and peculiar situation I'm currently in, has left me with a strange obsession with narrating everything that happens. After all, who the hell narrates her life as if someone is listening to him? Either way, reverberating is a good memory practice, and memory is my greatest weapon and ally.

My name is Leonora Monique Paulette Rousseau Claude Croiss. Being the first daughter of a noble house, I must adopt five names. My first name. The second, in honor of my mother. The third, in honor of my paternal grandmother. The fourth, in honor of my maternal grandmother. And the fifth in honor of someone who is thanked for my birth. In my case, it was the protective deity of the family. If born male, this would be the same but changed by the names of my father and grandfathers.

I am the daughter of Monique Rousseau Denisse Cossette Fleur. The pitiful woman who's holding me in her arms. And Ivo Jerome Noel Silvian Thierry. A waste of human being that should not take long to appear. Both are the Dukes of Croiss, a territory in decline due to the mismanagement of its regents.

This world is from my favorite otome game from my original life. Or so I think since I have almost completely forgotten the life I had before being Leonora. To the point that I no longer remember my old name or the way I died. I've been Leonora for so long that that life feels almost like a dream.

A dream that I'm rarely able to remember, when I really focus. Something I could do if it weren't for the constant knocking on the door.

(Waste) Is the baby already born? What was it? Where is it? Is she healthy?

At that moment, the door was thrown open, and a man entered. That man was my biological father. I kindly call him human waste. Having entered, he approached the servants and hurled a stream of questions without giving them a chance to answer any. I finally got his attention, and my mother, the pitiful woman, as I say, fondly placed me in his arms.

(Pitiful) She is a beautiful girl, I've called her Leonora, and she has taken my name as her second, and the name of...

I've already heard this explanation, so I'll ignore it.

The human waste looked at me, whispered my name, and his gesture was filled with pride as he smiled.

(Waste) Yes, she's a beautiful girl. If we commit it to Marquis Bortz, our family could benefit from the salt mines in their territory.

At her husband's words, the unfortunate woman was surprised. If it weren't for her weakness from labor, she would have gotten up to slap him, so she only limited herself to screaming indignantly.

(Pitiful) Ivo !!, but how can you come up with such an idea!? The price of salt is in decline. The Marquis will face a financial setback in just over a decade. The girl must be committed to Archduke of Kinner. He is still single and without an heir. That way, we could reaffirm the position of our family in front of His Highness.

The human waste just shook its head and replied.

(Waste) The salt will still be profitable for several years, and Marquis is a brilliant man. I am sure he will have a way to avoid the economic setback.

(Pitiful) But Ivo, Marquis has a long history of disputes with his Majesty, so our position will not improve. It's been a while since we weren't invited to the crown parties. Instead, the Archduke is the eyes and ears that his majesty has in the northeast of the kingdom.

They both kept arguing over which political marriage would benefit them the most. I haven't been in this world for an hour, and the excuse I have for parents is already thinking of selling me to the highest bidder. That is why I have always found it funny how all his plans are about to go down the drain deep down.

Slowly, a bluish light began to enter through the window, and the sky started to clear. At first, a gigantic blue moon illuminated a moonless night; with such a scene, all the people fell silent.

In this world, the blue moon is a sign of impending tragedies.

Earthquakes, storms, droughts, plagues, wars, famines, and the one that is by far the worst of all, the witch, had been born again in this world.

Before everyone's astonished gaze, the room completely lit up, and I could feel as if someone put their hand on my face, and a scratch-like mark appeared next to my right eye. Those present looked at me with indescribable terror on their faces, and then...

No, no, no, wait! Don't let me go, you son of a bitch!

I died again...

The human waste released me, my head hit the back of the bed, and then onto the hard stone floor.

This is the strangest thing about my whole situation.

No matter how many times I die, my life will start over from my birth.

I have died and come alive so many times that I lost count long ago.

----------------------

Once again, the midwife proceeds to make me cry to test my lungs, so I will talk about what I remember from the game, in which I go back to where I was.

The game was called "Under the blue moon" it was an otome game that became very popular for its particular story.

Although it starts like everyone else, a commoner heroine "coincidentally" discovers that she is the daughter of an archduke, turns sixteen. She's invited to enter the royal academy, where she will meet the three capture targets and will be able to have a relationship with whoever is chosen.

Although everything is normal, the game quickly takes a darker turn when there is a murder in the academy. Without being asked, the heroine and her group investigate, only to discover that the murders are related to a long list of murders that have been terrorizing noble society for months. And since there doesn't seem to be a competent police force in this world, she and her group do more for the case than people with years of training.

On the other hand, Leonora Croiss, is only a secondary character who has the witch's mark and is falsely accused of all crimes in various parts of history.

Contrary to the norm, the protagonist is not abused by her peers due to her plebeian origin. She quickly wins the affection of everyone, even the most close-minded, in a short period due to her personality and her absurd collection of powers and abilities. That's why all the abuse is directed towards Leonora.

Because of the witch's mark, her parents were always cold to her, so she was abused since childhood. Strangely enough, despite having the title of the witch, her magic is abnormally weak, making it impossible for her to use it to defend herself.

Because of this and because of a mixture of understanding and pain, it prompts the protagonist to discover the real culprit and clear Leonora's name. After many incredible adventures, where teamwork is praised, they manage to find the real murderer, one of their classmates, the bastard son of the king.

The latter, when questioned, argues that the motives that prompted him to commit the crimes were his hatred of the nobility. He had spent his life as a commoner, and his royal blood was discovered relatively recently. Which only generated an unhealthy hatred for the aristocracy and the world in general. However, his story has holes and gives the impression of being protecting someone, even after being executed. The protagonist is left with the chosen capture target in an apparently happy ending. One as a player has the feeling of not having reached the truth of the whole thing.

After having finished the three routes, with all their variants, it is not until after having seen all the endings that a secret route is unlocked, putting the bastard son of the king as the secret capture target.

Although, in the beginning, the story develops the same. With the murderer himself helping in the investigation, this little by little begins to show remorse thanks to the protagonist's affection, after a beautiful scene where the weight of guilt finally caught up with him. The bastard prince ends up confessing all his crimes. However, when he was about to surrender to the authorities, he's killed by a mysterious figure, giving an abrupt end to that route.

After a modified version of the credits. The protagonist herself appears on the screen telling the player not to give up, that he's close to finding the truth, unlocking another route called "The True Route."

In that route, all romantic events are suppressed. Although you can make friends with all capture targets, you cannot start a romance with them.

In this route, the true villain of the story is revealed. Leonora Croiss, here it's discovered how she manipulated everyone. The seemingly happy endings of the other routes were part of her plan to take revenge against the kingdom. The people who seemed to bother her were being blackmailed so that she could maintain her victim facade.

In the Ending, Leonora is executed, closing with the reflection of whether monsters are born or created.

Leonora ruined many lives, and the people who helped her also had to take their share of the blame.

Although it seems that the protagonist remains single on this route, she and all the other capture targets have matured as people, having each other and a bright future ahead.

An excellent story in general. It started very generic, but the final twists ended up with the fandom falling in love, where I include myself.

Sadly all this is screwed up in the disastrous sequel, but I don't feel like talking about it now.

And well, that's it; how I came to this world, and how this situation ends, is related to the fact that...

Oh... we got back to where we were. This time I moved insistently, forcing the human waste back into the sorry woman's arms. This way, I can avoid being thrown to the ground and dying of a concussion.

----------------------

Everyone was stunned by what had just happened; the silence was finally broken when one of the maids in the room collapsed, bringing everyone out of the shock.

For several hours chaos reigned in the mansion. But thanks to the excellent chief butler, the situation was controlled. So now I was faced by the excuses I have for parents, and Therrion, the amazing chief butler, should look for a better job.

The three of them watched me in silence, only looking at each other and me intermittently until finally, the pitiful woman spoke.

(Pitiful) We should deliver it to the church. The inquisition will know what to do with it.

(Waste) Are you crazy woman? If they find out that the witch was born in our family, we are finished. We could lose everything.

(Pitiful) So what do you suggest? We don't know what the witch can. She could kill us if we make her angry.

The two's discussion escalated until Therrion coughed loudly for their attention.

(Therrion) Sir, madam, may I speak?

Therrion bowed and asked to speak, to which the parents' excuses nodded silently.

(Therrion) I think we have to raise the girl.

This statement left them both stunned, so their complaints were immediate. However, Therrion did not give up.

(Therrion) Sir, Madam. Despite being born with the mark of the witch, let me finish that does not make her a monster. Now she is just a helpless girl. If we raise her and educate her correctly, she does not have to become a murderer.

Before these words, they both fell silent, meditating, until finally, the human waste spoke.

(Waste) No, the witch must die now, before she is a danger to everyone.

(Therrion) But sir, I'm sure if ...

(Waste) Silence Therrion. I have made my decision. The witch will die here.

Then the human waste drew a knife from the folds of his clothing and slowly approached me.

Mentally, I sighed tiredly...

Well, here we go again.
