1 Prologue: Just an Ordinary Day of My Life

Hello viewers. Greetings.

If you're wondering who in the world I am. Let me tell you, I'm just a normal first year college student. There's nothing to say about me, really. It's so boring that you'll drop my story even only after a few sentences. There are dramas from here and there, but meh…

Anyways.

Right now, I'm reading a book that I found interesting. It was hidden behind the fantasy books in the fiction corner of the library. It's like those hidden gems, as they call it. It's really great that I ended up borrowing the rest of the volumes.

Why am I reading, you say?

Because it's fun. You can see a whole new world, a new fantastic point of view. No one to tell me no, or where to go, or say I'm only dreaming.

Alright, that's the girl's part there so I'll stop.

In this boring life that I have, same repeating cycles, I find solace in my books. I feel like I can join the adventurers on their adventures. I feel like I can feel their joy, their sorrows, their anger, their love, like I'm there with them.

It's exciting. I feel shivers whenever.

Yeah. I know.

I'm just escaping. Escaping from reality.

Consequently so, that I read. Let me have my share of fun, alright?

"You're reading again? Muu… Come on. Why not just come with me and have a run? I bet you'll feel a lot healthier! What do you say?"

A friend of mine suddenly talked to me. Here I am doing a monologue where I talk with a reader of a book about my life. She really just can't read the atmosphere, can she?

"Sheesh. You're just imagining yourself as some protagonist of some books again, anyways."

Urk… This girl…

She knows too much about me. Well, after spending our lives for almost 12 years, I guess she would be able to do that at some point.

I ignored her and resumed my reading. I don't have the time and the energy to keep her company with her ridiculously tiring exercises. It's not like I hate it, but I get tired easily. Forgive me, childhood friend. For being such a weak buddy.

"Watcha reading, by the way?"

"Fantasy story."

Then she shows a 'That again…?' expression right in front of my face.

Leave me alone, will you. I enjoy it, so it's okay, right?

"Oh well, I'll join you. Lend me some." Sitting beside me, she said so with her eyes sparkling (For some reason.).

So I return her 'That again…?' expression back to her face.

"You'll just end up sleeping right from the first page. What are you talking about?" I add a slight tone of insult.

It's always like that. I end up waking her up whenever we have to go home. It makes me wonder what's with her deal.

"Muuu…! Cheapskate! That's rude of you, you know! Come on, just give me one."

I gave her the first volume of what I was reading. I'm on the third volume so it's not really a problem. If she's saying that she wants to read, I don't have anything to say since I myself don't join her stuff for entertainment.

Upon opening the book…

"*yawn*"

She stifled a yawn.

"Wake up."

I used the spine of the book to hit her head lightly. I heaved a sigh of exasperation at her never ending repitions.

"A-Ahaha… I'm awake, I'm awake."

*sigh* This girl…

"Everyone. I found something weird. Want to check it out?"

Our org. president suddenly called out to us, waking the other member beside me who was sleeping. And my not-so-guilty friend jumped out from her seat and went to check out what Pres was talking about. Really... What made you want to read this book, when you clearly can't handle reading one without falling asleep?

Anyways.

I certainly thought that it will be the same old when he brought that book to us. I thought that the day will end just like always. Go home, talk with that noisy girl, eat, and then sleep. But who would've thought that the people present at that time would have their lives turned upside down.

There was no way I could've known.

That I will die, just an hour after that.
