Chapter 16:

When i arrived to the front of the inn, i saw sarah cleaning the windows, why is she cleaning on her own? Is there no one to help her?

(Sarah!) Me

(Kaito-san? A horse? With wings!!!???) Sarah

Sarah turned and look at me when i called her, then she looks at my horse but she was surprised when she saw the wings.

(Sarah, why are you clea...) Me

(Kaito-san, what is with this beautiful horse!? It looks so strong! Is this yours!? Can i touch it!?) Sarah

I am not done talking you know?

*Sigh*

I want to get inside the inn so i get off from kuroma, but sarah started petting my horse's neck and head.

(It's so fluffy! And soft! Kaito-san, i want this horse, give it to me!)

Huh? What are you saying? Even if you cry, i won't give him to you.

(Etto~, sarah-san, i want to get inside to rest, so i will now unsummon him.) Me

(Eh? Can't you just let him go inside the inn? I promise to take care of him while you are resting.)

Huh? Sarah-san, kuroma is a horse you know? What are you saying?

(Kuroma is big, so he won't fit inside.)

Sarah, stopped petting kuroma and then looked down to the ground while looking sad.

Kuroma cries like telling me to look at him. What? Do you want to go inside? While i'm thinking what he want to say, kuroma turns around and... He is shrinking!? He's becoming smaller and smaller, then he stopped shrinking. He became small like a dog, his wings became small, and his horn became small like a horn that has just started growing. I-it's cuuuute!

I lift him and raise it.

(Kuroma, you can do this too? It's so amazing!) Me

Kuroma cries happily, i didn't know he can do this too, i rotate him to check it's body, but sarah suddenly grabbed him from my hand.

(What is with this dog!? It's so cuuuuute!!!) Sarah

You are wrong!!! That's a horse! Not a dog! But certainly, he looks like a dog because of his size.

(Kaito-san! Let's go inside and let me borrow this child!) Sarah

She rushed inside the inn while carrying kuroma. I'm glad she is happy, but... how can i separate kuroma from her now? At this rate, i don't think she will let go of him.

I go inside the inn and saw sarah sitting on a table while petting kuroma's head. It doesn't look like she will let go of him, so i take a paper and feather pen i bought earlier and drawn a layout of a house.

I decided earlier that i'll make a camping tent, but it's dangerous if there are monster. I have a lot of stamina, but i don't think i can stay awake until morning to keep watch, i can't also ask athena to do it. So i decided that i will make a portable house instead.

First, i draw two square sticking together, big one on the left, and a small on on the right. The big square, will be the living room, the dinning room, and the kitchen. I draw two sofa and a small table, and at the back of the right sofa, i draw a table and two chairs at each side, and at the back of the chairs at the right is the kitchen.

It goes like this, the living room, then the dinning table, then the kitchen.

The small box will be the bathroom. I take out another paper and draw three room for the 2nd floor. I made it three just in case i will be traveling with more people in the future.

(Kaito-san, what's that?) Sarah

(A house, i want to make my own house so i am planning for a layout.) Me

When i told her that, sarah became sad. Eh? Why are you sad? Could it be...

(You don't need to worry, i want to stay in this inn more. I just have something to buy at the capital so i made this as a place where i can stay at night.) Me

(I see, i'm glad. I thought you don't like it here anymore.) Sarah

(Ofcourse not, the food you make is very delicious, so i want to stay in this place.) Me

I even want to live here forever if i can. Her cooking is so delicious.

She is blushing, well, that's to be expected, even i, would like it if someone praises my cooking.

(Anyway, i will be away for three, or four day's at most. So you don't need to cook for me during that time.) Me

(Eh? Three or four days? This horse is an Attack Pegasus right? This is the fastest beast in the world, you can go there and then return here in just two days.) Sarah

(Yeah, but i will be escorting the duke's daughter. She is not used to speeds so we can't run on full speed.) Me

Sarah immediately stands up like she is shocked and hits the table.

(What!? The duke's daughter!? You mean Athena-sama!?) Sarah

Are? I can understand if she is shocked, but why does she looks angry?

(Etto~, y-yeah, is something wrong?) Me

(N-no, i-it's nothing) sarah

She sits down again while looking sad. Etto~, why? Oi sarah, What's wrong?

(A-anno~, kaito-san, you said you are going to ride on kuroma, but there are no other people who can run fast like this horse, which means, are you going with athena-sama alone?)

She is asking me with a low and sad voice. What's wrong, sarah? Don't tell me you are jealous because an another girl can travel with kuroma? As expected of kuroma, he's so popular.

(Yeah, but you don't need to worry, i won't give kuroma to her. And i swear to lend kuroma to you when i get back.) me

(N-no, i-it's not like that.) Sarah

Eh? Then what?

(Then what's wrong?) Me

(I-it's nothing.) Sarah

What? Did i said something wrong?

(Kaito you idiot) sarah

She said silently, i can hear you, you know? I knew it, i must have really said something wrong. I don't know what to do, so i'll just stay silent.

(Anyway, i'm going to take a bath, and rest after that, so i'll lend kuroma to you.) Me

(Really? Thankyou kaito-san!) Sarah

I stand up and go to the bath, just like yesterday, i used water wagic to clean my clothes, then use wind magic to dry it. The wind is so cold, i wonder if i can make it warm with fire magic. I wamt to try it, but it looks dangerous here, so i'll set that aside for next time.

After i take a bath, i go to my room and lied down on my bed. Ahhh~, it feels good, nothing can really beat the feeling of lying on the bed after taking a bath. Somehow, My consciousness is slowly fading.

Sarah? I woke up and looked at the window, it's not night yet, but it's dark. I woke up and rise then sit on the bed.

(Sarah?) Me

(Are you awake now?) Sarah

Sarah opens the door and then comes inside, but she shouted and then turns around. Huh? Why?

(Anno~, k-kaito-san, y-your... P-pants...) Sarah

I looked at my pants, but it's not there. Eh!!??? It's not there!!?? ah sh*t, i forgot! i only wear my boxers! I take out my pants from my item box and wears it immediately. This is bad, sorry sarah-san.

(S-s-sorry, sarah) me

(N-no, i-it's okay, i'm just surprised. Anyway, are you done?) Sarah

(Y-yeah, i'm done.) Me

Sarah turns around and looked at me, then laughs a little. Uwa~a! This is embarrassing!

(Etto~, so, sarah, do you need something?) Me

(N-no, i just came here to tell you that the dinner is ready.) Sarah

Hm? Why? She can just let me right? She said before that they would not call the customers if they don't go down to eat.

(Thank you, sarah. I'll fix my bed first then i'll go down later, so you can go first.) Me

(I'll help you.) Sarah

(No, it's okay, even if you are the manager of this inn, i can't let you do that.) Me

(I would not do it just because i am the manager, but because it's yours.) Sarah

Eh? Wait... Sarah-san, what are you saying that it's because it's mine? Could it be... No, that's impossible, i have only kniwn her since yesterday, it's impossible that she likes me. Ah right, i lend kuroma to her, she must be thankful to me for that.

(Ah, Okay, thankyou.) Me

After fixing the bed, we go together down stairs, i also helped her on distributing the dishes to the customers. After helping her, i sat down on the table to eat my food, but for an unknown reasons, she also sit at the table that i'm using, and then eat her fill.

(Delicious, as expected of your cooking, it's really delicious. It makes me want to live here forever.) Me

(Ehh? F-f-f-forever?) Sarah

She is blushing again, she really like to be praised.

(Yeah, i want to always eat your food) me

She stays silent and looked down like she is embarrassed, then speaks in a small voice

(T-then, y-you can do that, i-if...) Sarah

(If?) Me

(I-it's nothing!) Sarah

(Eh??? Come on, tell me.) Me

(I said, i-it's nothing!)

She shouts and pushes my head while being embarrassed. What? Tell me! I want to eat her foods always but she won't tell me how i can do that. *Sigh*

While we are eating, kuroma comes to me. Sarah told me that kuroma is at the inn's rooftop, he is sleepimg there since earlier because the wind feels good. I didn't know that this inn has a rooftop, i want to go there sometimes.

After eating, i help sarah clean the tables and dishes. Now that i think about it, there's no one helping her at all, i didn't see any employees. When i asked her that, she said that one of the employee is absent because of fever, and the other one goes to another town to negotiate with people who sells cheaper ingredients.

After helping her, i go back to my room with kuroma, i told him to go back on my ring, but she looked sad so i just let him. I told him to wake me up in the morning, and then i sleep again.
