And 3 days passed by in the blink of an eye with Owl doing absolutely nothing but resting for once. He went back to dig up his rings but that was it. Everyone else implicated had been hard at work. The two kids spent most of their time practicing or cultivating together in the garden. Even though they had feelings for each other, they weren't certain about how to truly express them. At the moment, simply being together was blissful to them.

Today, in the morning, an elder that they recognized as the fourth elder under the Senior Elder arrived at Jung-Su's house. Jung-Su and Owl offered him to come inside, though it was mostly Jung-Su repeating what Owl told him to. The elder refused and told them they had to come quickly for the ceremony would start soon.

The three of them hurried along the roads of the sect, passing by many disciples that were walking in the same direction. Owl managed to hear quite a few of their discussions as they passed them by. They were all talking about Jung-Su. It seemed like the Senior Elder's team had done a wonderful job. Most of the talk was about Jung-Su, not about him. There were a few mentions of the Senior Elder gifting his new disciples a tamed beast each but no one really seemed to care about that part. They were much more interested in who were the now famous lucky disciples. Owl was very satisfied with what he heard.

After walking for a short period, they reached one of the biggest plazas in the outer court. It was big enough to hold a few thousands of disciples for lectures. Now, with every disciple standing up next to each other, there could be many more. And there were a lot more. They were all surrounding the elevated platform that was in the middle. At the moment, there was no one on top of it but it wasn't stopping the gossipers from doing their thing. The noise from the crowd was deafening as a result.

As they arrived at the entrance, the fourth elder now third heaved a sigh of relief. They weren't late but in advance, thank the heavens. He was deeply scared about angering his boss. It was only a few minutes later that the second elder arrived with Sun-Mi in toe. There was a white owl following her, walking with its birdy feet behind. As he saw her, Owl wondered why the elder had to pick a beast from the same race. It would have been better to find something else to mislead the crowd even further.

As they arrived, the Second Elder nodded at the Third Elder in greetings: "Third, you're early"

The two kids were surprised to hear the Second Elder greet the fourth by calling him third. Owl was not. He understood the hidden implications behind it right away. He had no reasons to discuss what happened to the previous third. That man was, in fact, potentially dangerous. It might even be better this way with him out of the picture right from the start.

The Third Elder responded: "So are you, Second. You seem to have prettied yourself up more than usual too"

The Second Elder smiled seductively as she asked him: "Oh my, I didn't expect you to notice it, you must have observed me quite a lot~"

He coughed a few times before he changed the topic: "Anyways, we only have to wait for the First to start things now, right?"

She nodded and turned back to Sun-Mi, giving her a sweet smile and explaining to her loud enough for the others to hear: "Once the First comes on stage and introduce you guys, we will take you there. We have to wait a little bit for now, ok?"

Sun-Mi nodded and thanked the Second Elder. Today was really a good day for her. The Elder came to her house early and gifted him a spiritual beast just like Jung-Su's and now she would soon become officially the disciple of a Senior Elder. She was very excited and chatted with Jung-Su without stop.

Meanwhile, the new owl that she brought had crept up closer to Owl and looked at him straight with its big eyes. It made Owl slightly awkward and confused. Then, the owl began to hoot at him. As usual, he had no idea what was being said. He continued to blankly stare at the white owl that was the same size as him. He decided to check just in case and spread his spiritual power… This owl was of the ninth stage too. He could only marvel at the ability of the Senior Elder to find one in such a short time. Then again, spiritual beasts were reared by many beast tamers to be sold later on in his previous life.

Oh, right.

He had forgotten until now due to all the events that happened but he had yet to ask where and when he was… Since he remembered, he decided to ask right away: "Jung-Su, what is today's date?"

Jung-Su was still mid-chat with Sun-Mi when he heard Owl's voice. He made a blunder and asked aloud: "What?"

Sun-Mi thought he was talking to her, like everyone else. He hurriedly reiterated the question through the link and Owl repeated his question while the white owl kept hooting at him while circling around him.

Jung-Su answered. And Owl realized. He reincarnated only a few days after he died. Well, if it was the same place, that is. He asked about where he was in detail. Country, Continent… It turned out he was in a different continent and in a country, he hadn't ever heard of. That brought him a lot of relief. He knew where and when he was now. And so, he had found a new goal. Something additional besides getting stronger.

He wanted revenge.

Once he was strong enough, he would go back to his country. He would kill those who forced him to fight. He would slaughter them all. As he began to have those thoughts, he unconsciously leaked his bloodlust that frightened the white owl. That beast quickly flew away and hurriedly went behind Sun-Mi. Jung-Su quickly asked Owl if something was wrong, bringing him back to reality.

Owl frowned. A frown can't be seen on an owl's face but he did nonetheless. What just happened… His bestial instincts nearly made him lose his mind again. He really had to stay calm and put away his grudge aside for the time being. At least, until he became sentient. He feared he could be controlled by the racial traits of spiritual beasts and go mad otherwise.

Anger could be used to fuel his drive but he shouldn't let it control him. It was especially so now that he was a beast whose emotions were felt stronger than humans.

As his head cooled down, he realized how foolishly he overreacted. He was so far from home and so weak. He was powerless. What revenge? What slaughter? It would be great already if he survived long enough to travel back home.

His parents were probably dead by now. They were mortals after all. But he had a younger brother back in the sect. Maybe he was still alive? He did hope so. One day, he would go find him.

One day…

As his thoughts began to veer off further from reality once more, he felt something hitting his back quite violently. He tumbled a few steps forward and turned around, glaring fiercely and ready to fight whoever dared to sneak attack him all the way until one died. Turned out he had been wing-slapped by the white owl. It was now hooting at him furiously while jumping up and down.

Owl raged and began to accumulate spiritual energy only to let it disperse a second later as he calmed himself. He sighed. Those anger issues were truly messing up his head. He glared at the white owl before turning around, not bothering to pursue the matter. He wouldn't argue with a real beast.

The white owl didn't seem satisfied and walked up to him once more, still hooting. It was certainly getting on his nerves. The elders and the two youths were enjoying the show though. Even Jung-Su couldn't help but find it hilarious. From their vantage point, it seemed like a married couple having an argument. Though they were birds which made it funny.

Until Owl got enough. His instincts override his calm state and he loudly slapped the white owl with a wing filled with spiritual energy. The white owl who didn't expect it received a wing to its face and was sent tumbling a few meters away.

Everyone stopped chuckling. Then, Sun-Mi and the Second Elder hurriedly went to check on the white owl.

Owl sighed. He thought: "I really need to become a sentient…"

The fact that every emotion he felt was magnified due to his bestial instincts was proving to be a pain to deal with.
