End of war

The current government of the Maou's families had been cornered, with the Resistance army advancing towards the capital city of Lucifaad.

The remaining forces of the six armies of the families descended from Lucifer, and the military of Beelzebub could not resist the impulse provoked by the aces Sirzechs, Ajuka and Serafall. Soon, they were all defeated.

Sirzechs, Ajuka and Serafall entered the capital. They started to take over the main facilities, and eventually arrived at Vidreid Varsharn Beelzebub's palace. This would be the last stop.

The fighting had already begun, with great auras flying through the palace. On guard on the palace floor was Vidreid Varsharn Beelzebub, who spread his twelve wings while emanating a strong aura. However, he had to face Sirzechs who had become the "Beast of Destruction". The power of Sirzechs in his true form was overwhelming. He defeated the son of Maou Beelzebub single-handedly. Vidreid's attacks were completely futile, as they were cancelled out by Sirzechs' aura of "Destruction". Dealing with even just one of Sirzechs' attacks would eventually be fatal. Vidreid had already lost an arm, a leg and half of his wings, and was bleeding heavily. His defeat was inevitable. Sirzechs was completely beating the son of Maou Beelzebub. His affiliates watched the attack in fear of Sirzechs' powers. And when Vidreid landed on the ground and knelt, his fate was sealed.

As Sirzechs prepared the final blow, he asked him:

"Do you want to reconsider?"

Vidreid laughed slightly at his question. "I don't know when to quit, do I, Prince Gremory? I won't recognize you. I will be the new Maou and continue my father's wishes to defeat Michael and Azazel, once and for all."

Listening to his stubborn words, Sirzechs launched an orb of "Destruction" towards Vidreid. While he was disappearing, he pronounced his last words: "The blood and anger of the Maou's will always be against you". And with that, the son of Beelzebub - Vidreid Varsharn Beelzebub - disappeared.

"Not always, there are still descendants of the Maou's with enough personality to not follow their parents' stupid wishes."

*-----------------*

With Vidreid's death, the civil war came to an end, and the Underworld entered a post-war era. The Resistance army, which took over the capital Lucifaad, established its headquarters there and immediately began to attend to post-war affairs.

A few months after the rebuilding began, the Great King - Zekram Bael - summoned Sirzechs, Serafall, Ajuka and Falbium. "I would like the four of you to inherit the throne of the Maou's." He said, unexpectedly. Zekram Bael to the four of his intention to establish a new system of government. With all the high-ranking devils in agreement, all that remained was to select the Maou's.

The only candidates were Sirzechs and his friends. These powerful devils had contributed significantly to the Resistance's victory in the civil war.

Serafall gasped and expressed her reluctance. "Would we become Maou's? That's impossible... it's going to be a drag."

Ajuka was thinking deeply, and Falbium, of course, was not entirely in agreement.

"Please tell us the reason," Sirzechs said.

"It's simple. Currently in the Underworld, you four are by far the strongest devils, and to be honest, you are probably stronger than the late Maou's. You are the most suitable candidates to occupy your throne."

All of them thought it was for another reason; he wanted to use them as a deterrent or something.

"I understand that you didn't consider Grayfia, but why didn't you consider Razevan? He has never fought against the Resistance and even saved the population from that chimera."

If they were talking about more powerful devils, there was no doubt that Razevan and Grayfia should also be among the candidates for Maou.

"Because that's very annoying, I don't feel like ruling or having power. Besides, they say the Maou's can't have a Harem, and something inside me tells me that's very bad." Razevan's voice was heard around the room.

None of those present knew how he had got there, or how long he had been there. He was lying on a couch, which they also did not know was there, or how he had gotten there, while resting with his eyes closed.

"Razevan!" Serafall shouted with joy, and struggled not to jump at him because of the presence of the Bael leader.

"Small as ever, Serafall."

"Bastard..."

"Ahem"

Zekram coughed for the attention of all assembled.

"I already offered Razevan the option to be the next Maou Lucifer, and he turned it down. He's still a hero of the Underworld, unlike the rest of Maou's' exiled families, and I've given him a few benefits."

All of them again thought it was for another reason; that Razevan's power was too great, and he did not want to have him as an enemy.

"Do you intend to use us as political puppets?" Ajuka asked relentlessly.

"Hey, Ajuka!" Serafall could not help but chide her friend's comment.

Razevan raised an eyebrow, this Ajuka was one of the few people he considered interesting. In fact, the vast majority of people he considered interesting were gathered in this room.

Zekram Bael laughed. "I have no intention of using you, much less after witnessing the power you have demonstrated against the Maou's families. However, you should also be able to work with the older demons. I will leave most things in your hands."

The four of them thought deeply about the words of the Great King Bael. Then, Sirzechs broke the silence. "Could it wait until after I resolve the internal affairs of the House of Gremory that arose after the civil war?"

"Hmm. Reconstruction takes priority. Very well, then I will wait for your answer at that time." Zekram Bael concluded the meeting with momentary satisfaction. The four of them, as they left the commanders' office, could not hide their surprise.

Zekram sighed as he saw them leave, these four young devils were very powerful, and he felt pressured only by the power that the four had been unconsciously expelling.

On the other hand, the boy who was lying on the couch seemed not to have any kind of demonic power. But Zekram knew that he was probably the most powerful of all.

Razevan Lucifer.

Zekram still remembered when he received the news that Razevan had eliminated the chimera that had powers beyond those of a satan just by touching his body. He still had chills just thinking about it.

"Do you need anything, Lord Lucifer?" Zekram asked respectfully.

"Please don't call me Lord. You rule the Underworld now, not the family of the ancient Maou."

Razevan opened his eyes and looked at Zekram.

"I only hope you are a good governor, Zekram Bael. You needed to join forces with 80% of the pillars to defeat the families of the ancient Maous, but remember that I alone am enough to bring you all down."

Zekram's hair stood on end, and cold sweat ran down his back as he watched Razevan leave the room.

Razevan returned to Lucifaad, where Grayfia was waiting for him. One of the demands he had made on Zekram was to maintain his residence in what used to be the capital, Lucifaad.

At Grayfia's insistence, Razevan relented and began helping her rebuild the city that had fallen into disrepair after the war.

One day, Razevan and Grayfia were working on the construction of a windmill on the barley farm located on the north side of the Lucifer domain. Suddenly, out of the blue, Razevan asked, "Do you think it was a good decision not to become Maou?"

Grayfia was surprised by the sudden revelation, but remained calm and assimilated it. It was the first time Razevan had questioned a decision he had made.

"If you choose this, I think it's the right choice. I see now that this is why you have been very thoughtful late into the night these past few days.

Razevan continued, "I was given the opportunity to take Lucifer's place. So..."

Without waiting for Razevan to finish, Grayfia spoke: "Weren't you the one who said that the other descendants of Maou's were stupid for trying to inherit their parents' positions? Besides, you're not cut out to rule, I think you'd end the devil society if you had the power to decide."

Razevan nodded without hesitation, Grayfia had not been wrong at all.

"What are you going to do from now on?" He asked Grayfia.

"Do you want me to stay with you? Of course, I'm a Lucifuge after all. I'll always stand by the real Lucifer, I'd die if you ordered me to."

Razevan was now the one who was surprised after Grayfia's decisive and casual comment.

"I'm not asking what you should do as a Lucifuge, I'm asking your wishes for the future."

"I don't do it because it's my duty, I do it because I want to."

Grayfia's face turned red. "I mean, who knows what will happen if you're alone. I'll need to support you."

Razevan smiled at her reassuring words.

Razevan stood in front of Grayfia and said, "Let's get married... Grayfia, will you be my wife?"

A sudden proposal and in the middle of a group of windmill engineers watching. All eyes were glued to them.

"W-why are you asking me something so important here?" Grayfia complained angrily, but Razevan simply shrugged: "Time and place are indifferent to me, it's only your answer that's important here."

After calming her nerves, Grayfia replied, "It's okay, I'm probably the only one who can deal with a prince proposing marriage in a place like this anyway."

Razevan burst into joy at Grayfia's response and jumped up and down like a child. The people who were watching burst into applause and cheered for the future bride and groom.

He had been preparing for this moment ever since Grayfia's father had told him she liked him. Razevan had fallen in love at first sight with Grayfia, but he didn't know what those feelings were until many years later.

He was unsure for the first time in his life, as there was a possibility that Grayfia would reject his proposal. And that was not something he could change with his overwhelming strength.

But, now that Grayfia had accepted his proposal, Razevan felt an indescribable happiness inside.

Ok, currently I'm planning to rewrite all of the history so far. This whole War was something I wrote months ago, and I'm not really enjoying writing the chapters of this fanfic.

For what I'm planing to do in this rewrite... Razevan alignment is going to be Chaotic Evil, I'm not saying anything more.
