A new bloom

"Not hurting?", Ace was flapping more than Jay was.

To the point that it got her irritated of him asking the very question every time he dabs the cotton, that too barely in contact with her skin. He insisted to treat her feet which was harshly slashed when he had walked furiously, and he is just freaking over the small mass of gash.

"Get over with it already", Jay maintained an icy reaction.

Ace nodded as he dipped the cotton mass between the tweezer in the yellow looking fluid and pressed it against the blue area.

It sure did sting, but being a vast comparison, anyone would be as poker as Jay.

Ace on the other hand had a completely contrasting whirlpool in his mind. The remedy which he has talked before, he himself had never undergone such treatment, lest he was unaware of it. If put to use, it can be effective. All now he can just try to end it all fast. Jay's will to survive this way long, adopting drastic measures, proves her more courageous than him. He doesn't want to let that go to waste.

"Why do this?", his voice sounded like a scold.

"My fault …...that you missed me", Jay mumbled uninterested, just to shut him up for any further attacking word. She had mastered stabbing Ace in his weak spots. Any sarcasm coming from her hits him. He's not that good verbally.

Expectant, it really did close his mouth at once.

He continued on his job as he opened a band-aid and pressed it against the wound. With that, he wrapped up the wasted gauges and utensils. He vanished inside a room and returned after a moment.

Jay was letting herself loose carelessly on the sofa as he joined her. She didn't raise a thing, but it was an ongoing sulking process going on.

Ace grinned lightly and spoke," Fine, I'm sorry".

"Why?", Jay turned away from the front and positioned herself facing him with her back, clasping her knees to her chest. Maintaining the official sulk posture, she said," I don't oblige by relying on you. This being recent, nothing started perfect from the top. Not even you. This can't continue longer, lest you leave in the future ...…unpredictable!".

Ace froze.

He went dumbstruck!

Even though she wasn't looking at him, she couldn't divert his gaze from her. He felt the acid from her voice burning his face.

That's what she's got in her mind, from just one mistake?

Jay had never had anyone beside her.

Those two from blood? Completely outta range!

Travis? He knew ...but didn't understand the depth.

Even Ace's presence is late and assuring, she is still finding it harder to accept it from anything before. When she finally had decided to lean on him a little, after a thousand argument with herself, she's just afraid that if he decided to leave, things will be back to square one. Even more powerful.

That's why she is trying her best not to bother him?

Or is it that, she never had accepted him from the first?

Ace gaped with lost eyes and held his breath.

Collecting his sanity, he reached over as calm as possible, stretched front his arms and slipped them through Jay's waist and wrapping them gently around her, he pulled her closer against his chest, sitting without another word.

Jay, outta habit didn't react ...but couldn't help but express a little surprise.

She didn't resist and kept her head drooped.

Ace shortened his space of hold around her and pressed his cheek on her side nape, breathing out closing his eyes.

Through all the intimacy he's been cueing this whole time without holding back, this has been the closest of all.

"Ace?", Jay's throat had a gentle curious voice.

"…...won't leave you", came the muffled voice from the blue-eyed boy," Never from my side. As long as I might live. Even if you ask me to, I'll not ....and prove you wrong! I can't let you push me away, stop running away! Rely on me ...please!".

Ace received more access to her nape as she looked at the other side with the hanging head.

No words were spoken for a moment.

They both adored silences.

But this time, Jay actually had nothing to say. Such words were something which she had never listened from anyone, totally strange for her! Very strange. She couldn't find the exact reply to them and let Ace keep his form as a result.

However, the hug around her tightened more as a harass," Say a word".

She still was preparing what Ace would like to hear.

Expressing is not something of her ability, and she can't predict Ace.

All she could do is place her pale cold palms over his warm ones and speak in the most silent breezy tone possible," It's .... really warm".

Enough to spread a pallor of smile over Ace's face.
