6 chapter 6

The first person to arrive was dressed as a ghost there were all sorts of costumes, vampires, witches, werewolves, ghosts frankenstines, ogres, fairies, I later found that some beings came as themselves and some came as others it was weird but exciting at the same time. I made friends with a fairy, a lycan, and a vampire the fairy was ruby she had blond hair and green eyes she said that the eyes of a fairy depend on their power ruby was a nature fairy she helped Mother Nature therefore her eyes were green a water fairies eyes would be blue, next the lycan he was called Blake

"So, no offence Blake, but what's a lycan?" I asked him I wasn't ignorant, really I wasn't, I had just never heard of a lycan but Blake just laughed when I thought he would get offended.

"A lycan is better than all beings" he announced of course there were a lot of boos and scoffs in the audience by people who didn't agree with him I waited for his answer patiently when the commotion died down he turned to me and went on to explain

"Some say a lycan is a cross between a werewolf and vampire, some say a lycan is another name for a werewolf, some say that a lycan is a werewolf that can transform into a wolf whenever it wants whereas a werewolf can only shift on a full moon, but a lycan is non of those a lycan is a being that can transform into any animal it wants, like a mouse, a beetle, an elephant, a cat basically any animal, comes in handy" he shrugged I nodded

"Is it true then that werewolves can only transform on a full moon?" I asked he shook his head

"No werewolves can transform into a wolf whenever they want, that's why they are often mistaken for lycans for example it's not a full moon tonight so if you saw a werewolf you would automatically assume that it's a lycan because you believe werewolves can only transform on a full moon but that's not true a werewolf usually is a werewolf because lycans don't transform into a werewolf we transform into wolves not werewolves. Does that make sense?" I nodded I thought I understood a werewolf is a cross between a human and a wolf therefore a lycan transforms into a wolf rather than a human wolf.

then I met the vampire his name was Arimas he had pale skin and his lips were blood red

"You're not gonna drink my blood are you?" I asked a little worried Shreya had assured me the vamps were safe but I had to ask but just like Blake he laughed then shook his head no I nodded but still didn't sit to close to him he didn't seem to mind "so you drink human blood?" I asked, again he nodded but he smiled playfully "so you kill humans?"

"Kill? My little sweet innocent child I do not kill I simply drink as much as I need then leave, humans produce blood all the time so humans don't die" he looked around then added, "you shouldn't listen to stereotypes just ask" I nodded he had a point so I asked.

"So do you burn in the sunlight?"

"No"

"Can you eat anything but blood"

"No"

"Do you like giving one word answers"

"Yes" I laughed at this and he did too "keeps people curious we're mysterious beings for a reason you know" when I calmed Down I asked.

"So how old are you?"

"Five centuries" he answered I nearly fainted wow was all I could think

"Can you read minds?"

"No but I can read your heart" I was confused, my heart?, he saw the confusion on my face then went on to explain

"When you're scared your heart pumps blood fastest, when you're nervous you're heart beat is a little faster then normal" I nodded understanding

"So your hearing is good?"

"Good?, good my little child it's better than good I can hear what's happening down the street if I chose to I can switch it off so to speak, and before you ask I can see very far too and yes I'm fast I don't sleep, don't have the need to therefore I don't own a coffin ..... Anything else you want to know" I thought for awhile.

"What was William Shakespeare like?" He laughed really hard

"He was an amazing man I was in his play hamlet, you know" now I laughed he shared more stories with me we cut the cake at eleven then the time finally came at eleven fifty five Shreya got me a chair and told me to sit down and relax everyone moved away from me far far away.

"Now remember the key is to stay calm all the way through Mitch, Bella and I are here to help you but we can only help if you stay calm, ok?" I nodded taking deep breaths and trying to relax, it was a little hard with all these people here but I looked into Shreya's eyes and that made me forget everyone else. She smiled nodding her head the clock struck twelve and I jumped looking towards the clock then at Shreya my breathing got faster, I can't do this, I thought, I'm not ready, oh god why me somewhere in the distance I could hear Shreya telling me to calm down then I felt hot really hot I heard someone scream then realised it was me screaming I felt hot so hot I was shaking, someone was shaking me.

"Raven RAVEN CALM DOWN" then I felt a slap across my cheek, I calmed down instantly, everything came back the room, the decorations, the people Mitch was kneeling in front of me looking at his hand then at me

"I'm so so sorry Raven, I .... I had to, you weren't calming down, I... I had to ... I'm sorry I'm so sorry, Oh god I've never hit a girl before, I'm so sorry." he spoke his head down but Shreya went crazy

"YOU SLAPPED HER? YOU SLAPPED MY DAUGHTER?"

"Shreya calm down" this was Bella trying to calm her down

"NO THE LITTLE FREAK SLAPPED MY DAUGHTER"

"He was trying to calm her down Shreya relax"

"RELAX, RELAX HE SLAPPED HER,WHATEVER THE REASON HE SLAPPED MY DAUGHTER" my head was hurting I held my head

"Shut up" I whispered no one listened "shut up" I said a little louder but they carried on arguing so I said it again and again getting louder and louder each time in the end I screamed it, they went quiet instantly.

"I'm sorry" Mitch spoke again I shook my head feeling the headache disappear.

"You obviously did it to calm me down, and it worked so it's ok"I told him he smiled probably thanking god "but don't let it happen again or I'll use my training on you" I told him seriously he nodded quickly

"Are you ok?" Shreya asked rubbing my upper arm I nodded

"What happened?" I asked looking at her now. I saw a burn on the side of her face she saw me looking and covered it with her hand but winced when it hurt I took hold of her hand and moved it from her face "how did that happen?" I asked hoping it wasn't done by me she looked down at the ground I knew then that I did it

"No sweet heart it wasn't your fault yes it was your new power but it's ok you need to learn to control it"

"What happened?" I asked again meaning my new power

"You shoot energy balls" she told me "energy balls are basically balls of lightning in your hand" I looked at my hand lightning in my hand

"I don't like lightning" I told her she laughed

"Tough you're going to have to get used to it" I laughed too,

"So I shot one at you?" She nodded, I started to cry but she held me and told me it was okay Bella joined the hug

"Group hug" Mitch shouted and also joined we all laughed everyone in the party laughed that's when I remembered all the other people there

(A/N because I don't want to write what happened in another persons P.O.V I will leave this as it is and I will explain this chapter in detail later in the book don't worry I'll remind you of the chapter later although I think you'll figure it out yourself)
