17 chapter 17

A week had passed since I went back to school Annie, Andrew, Skylar, Jen, and I still Hung out.

"so Skylar how do you like England so far?" we asked Skylar, at break time

"weird" she answered all of us looked at her in confusion she went on to explain "first off, I switched on my t.v last night to watch football, it said football but soccer was on, I changed channels to something called rugby, and football was on, then my dad and I went to get petrol, we went to pay for the petrol we got told off, the guy said we had to get petrol first then pay, oh and icing on the cake you drive on the wrong side of the road, the list goes on" the others and I were laughing at this point

"What rugby is here is football in America, what football is here is soccer in America, you get petrol first then pay, it makes sense, I mean you don't go to a grocery store, pay for your shopping then get the stuff you need, do you? and the road thing, most of the world drives on the left, sorry but Americans do it wrong" I finished with a shrug. she thought for a while.

"It's still weird though" she whispered I laughed lightly.

After break we went to classes Annie had geography now Andrew had P.E, Skylar and I had history, my favorite subject, with my favorite teacher, Jen had math, her favorite subject.

We met after school to chat Skylar and I went back to my house to study for a test we had in a week for science chemistry, we were pretty confident that we would do well in the test we just used the test as an excuse to hang out.

Shreya kept on looking at us weirdly when we were having our snack Skylar didn't seem to notice but I did, so when Skylar excused herself to go to the bathroom, I pounced

"What's going on?" I asked Shreya as she was clearing the table

"I don't know what you mean" she shook her head saying it rather nervously

"Come on I wasn't born yesterday, tell me" this reminded me of the time Shreya had, had a weird feeling about the new social worker, I was rather worried not to mention scared. She sighed

"It's weird" she started, looking down at her feet "she's human. I Know that much definitely human" she assured

"So what's the problem?" I asked wondering how this was weird she looked at me and smiled

"It's just that, I can't read her mind, there's some kind of block it stops me from getting in, it's never happened with a mortal before, and this girl is definitely mortal, I know she's not dangerous, her aura is white" I nodded my head trying to figure it out but to no avail. Before we could discuss this further Skylar came back. We went on as if the previous conversation never happened.

We then went to get some homework done, after about two hours we went down into the living room to watch T.V, at around eight her father came to pick her up, they left, and after saying bye to Shreya I too blinked home straight into my bedroom I went to sleep after a hot shower, I was out as soon as I hit the pillow.

That Friday Skylar asked if she could spend the weekend at my house since her dad had to go out of town due to business Shreya was more than happy to have Skylar stay with us so Friday evening her dad came to drop her off, before getting into the car and driving off to London

"Thank you for this it's very nice of you, Skylar hates my business trips, she gets bored" he told Shreya at the door whilst Skylar bought in a small suitcase into the house

"It's fine, don't worry about it, we're more than happy to have Skylar stay with us" Shreya told him shaking her hand around like it was nothing.

I helped Skylar carry her bag upstairs, I took her to one of the spare bedrooms that we had sorted for her. We had just put the bag onto the bed when we heard her father

"I'M LEAVING SKYLAR SEE YOU SUNDAY" He shouted Skylar ran to the door then down the stairs then straight into her dad's embrace "woah where's the fire, kid" he exclaimed with a smile

"I'll miss you dad, I love you" they hugged awhile longer then her dad reluctantly let her go

"Hey I'll be back soon, I promise" he hugged her again then whispered in her ear "be careful" I was confused why would he say that? If it hadn't been for the super hearing, I wouldn't have heard it. The conversation I had had with Shreya the other day came to mind when Shreya had said there was some kind of block around her mind and she couldn't read her mind, but Shreya had said Skylar wasn't dangerous. I hoped against hope she was right.

We spent most of the night watching horror movies, I know, I know, you shouldn't watch horror movies at night but I love horror movies they're brilliant and it turns out Skylar loves them too. At around one in the morning we decided it was late so we decided to go to bed, so after turning off the light in the hall we went into our bedrooms, which were next door to each other, and we went to bed. I was out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
