15 chapter 15

The next day we gathered at Shreya's place, well when I say we I mean Shreya, Bella, Zain, Mitch, and me we went over the plan once more, Blake wasn't here because Zain decided it wasn't safe for him. Zain was ready to go into the woods to play his role I decided a little humour would do us all some good as the tension was high in the room

"Would you like some scooby snax?" I asked Zain as he left the living room and headed to the front door, he turned to me and let out a chuckle

"No thanks, but if you offer a kiss, I might take it" he told me quietly I gasped my mouth hanging open, he closed my mouth pushing my chin up with two fingers "you'll catch flies" he whispered before he leaned in and kissed my cheek I closed my eyes, out of pure embarrassment, both of my mothers were in the room I had to shut my eyes my cheeks were on fire. When I opened my eyes he was gone.

"Ok people Zain has left, you all know what to do?" Everyone nodded a yes towards Shreya then she walked over to me "are you ready?" She asked me I nodded and blinked into the woods Zain was already here he was sitting on a tree stump reading a book I was hidden behind a tree, I looked around I saw Bella and Mitch hiding behind trees, each witch looked towards Shreya waiting for the signal, she had her left hand up in a 'stop' motion. We looked on I thought of my spell hoping I wouldn't mess it up but even if I did mess it up the other witches would get it right so it would be ok, right? I was sweating even though it was winter, sweat formed on my forehead and I could feel the droplets moving down my face.

Shreya must have felt the presence of the gild, because she put her hand down fast as if to say 'go' we all chanted our spell

"Powers of the witches rise, protection for Zain" I chanted in a low voice, I saw a white glow forming around Zain, he too noticed it, it was the shield protecting him, he looked towards Shreya and nodded once that meant the spells worked he was protected Shreya sighed in relief. My ears then picked up a sound I looked towards my right and saw a pair of boots crunching leaves and twigs, I followed the boots up it was Mr Marcus, or should I say the Gild, he walked slowly we crouched lower so that we were sure he couldn't see us

"Well well well, if isn't a lycan" he stated standing right next to Zain, holding a knife in his hand Zain stood and feigned fright

"What, uhhh what's a lycan?" He pretended looking down at the knife

"Don't give me that c**p I know a lycan when I see one"

"Who are you?" Zain asked menacingly showing he wasn't scared

"I'm death, your death" the gild told him Zain laughed.

"Oh yeah?, come get me" as soon as he said that he disappeared, well not really, he just turned himself into a rat the gild looked everywhere for him, then looked down he smiled as he realised the rat was Zain he went to stand on the rat but an energy ball from me stopped him, by hitting his boot, and when he turned to see who hurt him Zain turned into a lion and pushed the Gild down onto the ground,

"Oomph" the sound left his mouth as the lions paws stayed on his chest the witches then stood, and walked around the trees towards them, the gild looked at us and let out a chuckle it was strained as Zain was putting pressure on him

"So you planned this?" He asked looking towards Shreya, Shreya shrugged and the gild shook his head "I should've known" he said to himself Shreya signaled Zain to let him go so the lion moved after growling warningly, the gild took his time standing up, not because he was in pain but because he was worried that the lion would pounce, I smiled inwardly knowing he was scared "what now? You gonna let me go?" He asked hopeful

"Ha, after what you put us through, after all the beings you hurt? no chance" Bella stated, crossing her arms across her chest

"Would it help if I said sorry?" He shrugged, not looking sorry at all

"It might, if it was genuine" I told him, he turned to me

"How old are you? Why are you doing this? You grew up with humans, you don't have to be like these beasts" he told me, Zain growled making him jump

"They're not beasts, gild, you are, just because they're different to humans doesn't make them beasts, you're the beast, for wanting to kill them" I told him there was no remorse on his face

"So what now, you're gonna kill me? How is that different to what I'm doing?"

"We don't kill innocent people just because they're different, that's your job, we kill people who are a threat, that's you" Shreya spoke for me

"And besides" I started all eyes on me "we're not going to kill you" every one gasped

"Raven, he has to die" Shreya reminded me

"I know" I told her "we're not gonna kill him, coz he's gonna kill himself" now everyone was confused the gild laughed as I crossed my arms across my chest

"You think, I'm gonna kill myself?" he laughed more holding his stomach as he laughed I let him laugh going through the spell I was going to use when he finally stopped I smiled "so how am I gonna kill myself, am I gonna run now?"

"If you want" I told him with shrug the witches and Zain kept quiet I was happy they trusted me, the gild looked around at their faces then looked at me I signaled towards the trees and he looked too and started to take small steps Zain growled

"Shhh Zain" was all I said the gild took another step this time Zain didn't growl

"You're week" the gild stated as he ran off full speed

"Let's go" I announced as I took off running "powers of the witches rise, make me fast enough to catch the gild" I became faster and soon I was in front of him he stopped I said nothing as I waited for the others to catch up, Zain was first then Shreya then Bella, then Mitch, he looked at us all individually "you ready?" I asked

"For what?" He asked

"For a fate worse than death?" I asked, he looked confused

"Take him back, Take him away,

Remove him now, Don't let him stay.

I call upon the sacred power

Combine our powers four

And send him off

To Limbo (taken from 'charmed' reworded a little to suite the story)

I chanted the spell I had seen in a book in the attic of Shreya's house.

A whirlwind appeared around the gild, leaves and twigs flew around him, we shielded our eyes as he screamed a few seconds later the wind was gone, we took our hands away from our faces to see the gild had disappeared.

"Nicely done" Bella commented I smiled

"Where did you find that spell?" Shreya asked looking mad

"In a book in the attic?" I said trying to sound innocent

"What?, Raven why? Why would you look through the leunam?"

"I was curious, I was doing research, look I'm not comfortable with killing yet so...."

"So, what? You'll send every evil being to limbo?" Shreya asked interrupting me

"Well the spell said Timbuktu so maybe both?" I'm sure Shreya wanted to scold me more but Bella helped me out

"Ok you know the book will be hers some day, there's no harm in looking through it, and besides that was good, he will suffer more in limbo" Bella announced Shreya just shook her head and we all blinked back to the house

"Why is Shreya so angry with me?" I asked Bella whilst we were alone in the kitchen making tea for everyone

"She's not angry, she's just..... I don't know, it's hard for her, you know, because we have never let a gild go before" Bella was saying

"We didn't let him go, not really, he's stuck between life and death, what could be more awful?" I asked she nodded in understanding

I hoped he suffered, he had killed many innocent people, I hoped some of those people were still in limbo, and most of all I hoped he would feel their wrath. I knew he would suffer more but convincing Shreya was not easy.

Zain came into the kitchen, now in his human form

"You ok?" He asked me as I stirred the last cup of tea and put it on a tray

"I'll take these in" Bella announced leaving us both alone, I sighed, I didn't want to be here with him I closed my eyes and took a breath, I turned around crossing my arms across my chest, I nodded a yes to his question

"Listen, about before, when I kissed your cheek, I ...."

"It's ..... Please don't" I told him pointing my hand towards him "I don't like you like that, please I ....." I interrupted him so he interrupted me

"It didn't mean anything to me either, it was a joke Raven I can't like you like that because I'm gay" he finished I gasped

"You don't look gay" I blurted out before covering my mouth, I couldn't believe I had said that he smiled

"Is that a compliment or ....?" I didn't let him finish

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean that" I tried to assure him but he laughed his laugh was addictive I laughed too. After a small chat we made our way into the living room and joined the others.
