2 Room 2

Skye

The static sound rang about the speaker. Everyone's eyes still widened in shock, beads of sweat flowing down their temples. The thought of being pawns in the deadliest game of chess he'll ever be in, ran around Skye.

"Are we all going to die?" the coughing woman asked, crippled in fear. Skye was asking the same question himself. He assumed that everyone thought the same too. Skye felt his mouth go dry and his vision blurring as he looked at his sweating palms. It was not long before he knew he was also shaking in fear. The room fell silent at the mention of the question. Skye could hear his thumping heartbeats beating faster as moments pass by. He lost his train of thought and he felt so alone he couldn't notice everyone else. He came back to his senses as the man in the suit gain his full consciousness. The suited man was next to him so he rushed to help up. He held his head and looked in pain and groaning.

"Are you okay?" Skye asked.

"I'm fine." he answered with a fading voice.

Skye noticed once again that he was in a room full of strangers. He felt the need to introduce himself.

"I'm Skye." he said. The man looked at him.

"Alex." the man in the suit replied, he stood up and shook hands with Skye. The rest followed their lead and gave their names.

"I-I'm Stella" the coughing woman stood.

"Daryl." the man in the hood sat still.

"My name is Jack" the man next to him said.

"Wendy" the woman next to Stella spouted.

"Stacy" the woman next to door said.

"Now then, we are all properly introduced, does anyone know how the fuck are we getting out of this room?" Jack asked. Jack looked like he was in mid 40's. He was wearing a brown long sleeves with his top button untucked and his sleeves were held back. He has a bearded face and there seemed to be fading bruises and healing stitches in parts of his face. He was wearing dark black jeans and boots closest to the color green. Everyone were as oblivious as the next person and didn't answer. The room was only filled with the sound of rattling chains and a very deafening silence.

The room suddenly shook slightly. Slowly, a thin pillar-shaped concrete was rising at the center of the room. On top of it was a red button. The mystery of what lies behind pressing the button came in thought to Sky. The chains on Skye's ankle was somehow unlocked then it happened to the rest. After being set free from the chains, the seven of them walked towards the button that was waist high to Skye.

"What do you think will happen if we press it?" Stella asked. Stella wore a knee-high white dress and a denim jacket. She wore a pink wedge and she had an anklet cross on her right foot. She also, to Skye, looked pretty. But what will really happen if they press this seemingly harmless button. Skye looked at the button long enough that he was tempted to press it. No one had the courage to press the button because the all fear something bad might happen. Out of the blue, Daryl smashed the button with his fist it gave everyone a shock. The room echoed with the loud thudding sound like thunder on a fine day and then silence afterwards. A long beeping sound came from the door. The red light died and the green came to life as the beeping stopped. One by one, with Skye on the lead, they all walked to the door. Jack opened the door and there came a dark hall. It was like the abyss that will lead you straight to hell. It was pitch black dark and cold wind seems to blow towards them.

"Does anyone have a light?" Jack asked. Everyone checked their pockets but no luck for them except for Daryl who held his lighter lit up high. Everyone stared at him as he walked past all of them taking the lead into the dark hall.

"Are you coming or what?" Daryl spouted. Everyone walked into the hall and went on their way. About ten steps away later, the door behind them shut close; this was the point when Skye thought that there is no turning back. The thought suddenly brought back fragments of his memory that is now coming back. He felt light headed from the pain at the center of his brain. He staggered and leaned on the wall. He was hearing voices that was familiar yet he couldn't recall, the pain was growing worse and worse he stopped walking. Skye heard a blurry voice from behind him in which he thought was just his imagination, but it wasn't. The voice was now getting clearer and echoey, it was Wendy.

"Skye." her voice was now clear, "are you alright?".

"Yes," he thought reluctantly. Wendy was neck high to Skye, she was wearing plain white shirt and jeans with sneakers on. She also wore a pink bead bracelet and has a tattoo of a name that Skye can't make out on her left wrist, "I think so."

"You on the back keep up with us." Daryl shouted. Alex went to help Skye walk, then they walked and walked. Skye counted the minutes of how long they were walking and counted five minutes, he felt like the hall could go on forever and they might even die before they reach the end of it. Daryl lit his lighter high up and they all start to make out something from the seemingly empty void.

EXIT

Finally, Skye thought. They stopped by the door and Daryl tried to open it.

"Door's locked." Daryl stopped. Skye went toward the door and tried to open it himself. It really was locked. Skye looked around for a key, but what he found had far less mass than a key. Below the door was a piece of paper about an inch wide. Skye picked it up and read the word written in it.

"Swim"

-----END OF CHAPTER 2-----

The dark path was 2 kilometers long to the EXIT door and the distance between the sides of the wall was 5 feet. The height of the room was around 15 feet.
