1 Room 1

Skye

It was in a dark room where Skye slowly gain his consciousness back. Everywhere was a blur as he open his eyes slowly. There seems to be a flashing red light like an ambulance's at the corner ceilings of the room. The flashing light made him a little dizzy. The room was cold and he felt so alone, that was until he felt the sudden chill on his ankle. He pulled his leg and a dangling sound filled the quiet room. He was chained. He pulled his leg again and again to see if it would come off, but no luck.

Where am I? he thought.

Slowly, Skye could see the room being lit. The red flashing lights on the walls started to grow stronger and he started seeing figures. Silhouttes, and they were chained too. He made out four, no, six people. As sudden as his waking, a loud siren sounded about inside the room. It made Skye's ears ring. He covered his ears and dropped on the ground feeling the excruciating pain in his head, and the ringing in his ear didn't help one bit. His thoughts were crowded inside his head and fragments of his memory comes back to him but he never fully remember them happening. He heard voices inside his head from people he knew he know but he could not recognize. The sirens went on a few more seconds, when suddenly a bright light filled the room. As he counted, there were six people inside excluding himself. The light pained all of their eyes like the sun in the morning when you wake up. When the pain was going down, Skye looked around the room. He figured it was less than 5-8 square meters wide. There was a door, but there was no doorknob, however there seemed to be a lock in there. It looked like an automatic lock because it lit red on one side, which to him meant it was locked, and next to it was the same but was not lit. There were cameras and a speaker attached on the walls of the room. The room was gray and smelled a little rusty. Skye stood and tried to walk towards the door when he felt his leg being pulled back. He remembered he was chained. He looked around to look for something to get rid of the chains, but the room was only occupied by the seven of them. He looked at the people around him, four men including him and three women and all of them were also chained. None of these people were familiar to him. The woman on his front coughed and the others around him groaned in pain. Some held their temples and cursed. Skye didn't know what to do at that moment.

"Where are we? Who are you people?" said the man in the suit. He sounded worried and confused at the same time. Skye didn't reply. The man stood up and went for the door. Skye was about to warn him that he was chained but it was too late. The man in the suit fell over and startled everyone. He slowly stood up and caressed his head cursing.

"Are you okay?" Skye asked the man in the suit.

"What do you think?" he replied as he sat groaning.

"Where are we?" The woman behind him asked.

"I don't know." Skye replied.

Everyone one of them were anxious to get out, and to Skye it seemed that everyone of them is trying to think of a way to get out.

"How did we all end up here?" said the man on his left. His voice was so deep it sounded like the cracking of the earth's crust. The man looked like he was in his twenty's and was wearing a hoodie and ripped jeans.

"I don't know." Skye replied. "I woke up and I can't recall ever coming here or meeting any of you."

"That makes two of us." said the man in the suit.

"Do you think we could get out of this place?" the woman beside the woman behind him asked. Skye was about to answer when a static sound came out of the speaker. It went on for a few seconds when finally, a voice of a woman came out.

"Well hello there people, did you have a goodnight's sleep?" the voice sounded like it was from a radio and it struck fear right through them. "You might be wondering: why am I in this room? why am I chained? how do I get out? who are these people? can I trust them?" the moment the voice said trust Skye looked around him and he saw all of them gaze at each other. "Well, here is the answer to your questions, you are all here because you are part of a game."

Everyone was shocked and couldn't believe what they were hearing.

"Is this some kind of prank?" the coughing woman asked.

"I'm afraid not, sweety." the woman's face turned from anger to despair upon hearing those words. "Anyhow, regarding to the part I was talking about lately, you are all required to join the game!"

"What makes you say I'm taki---" the man in the suit stood up and was electrified and fell over to the ground again.

"How rude of you to interrupt me when I'm giving you the instructions." the voice sounded a bit lonely. "if any of you speaks up while I'm talking, you will get electrified just like that man over there." the man in the suit was slowly gaining his consciousness. "we've implanted a chip on your necks to punish whoever breaks the rules. Don't worry, because there are only four. Here are the rules: Rule number one, be obedient. I can't have my playthings moving around out of order. Rule number two, don't EVER interrupt me when I'm talking. It'd just be rude wouldn't it Mr. Suit. Rule number three, always follow the rules of the room and game you're in. That way this will be fun. Last but not the least, Rule number four." the pause felt like an eternity and made everyone so anxious. "Have fun playing the game!"

The voice echoed inside the room along with their rapid anxious heartbeats.
