As the phone died from the call, the one thing that I never thought I would hear again—the one thing, that I thought I could forget about—reared its ugly head again, in the most prolific, as well toxic way imaginable.

She was really trying to sink her dagger into my life, rip out my heart and kill me whichever way was most convenient to her. And while I knew that her other minions believed that I had died from the blast—Elizabeth was smarter person altogether.

Her and Freya must have sensed this coming, and that was why she had made all her moves. That was the reason as to why she went in the direction she did. While she knew she couldn’t kill me outright on her own, she knew one thing.

She knew how to use love as a weapon, and Dimitria had been a victim of her cat and mouse game this entire time.
