I was soaking in the lavish bath I had set up, trying to reflect on the words that Samantha had spoken to me, when she had been here, only a week ago.

“Only you can decide when it’s right for you to step in.”

She told me back then while I was stuck in my emotions, horrified from what had happened with Julian and here and now, Sam was irrevocably correct.

The words stung me, but they were true, nonetheless. Only I could decide.

Even if that meant going against Freya and the oath, that she coerced me to take. That was the part no one knew about.

Erik and several other members from the Danish Circle back then were aware that I had been held to an oath in exchange for Kaitlyn’s safety, yet no one knew that Freya in her own right, had been deceitful about it.
