33 Encounter at the Wasteland (1)

"So, between appraisers, you can check each other if they use the skill?"

Two humans were walking out of the auction house. Both of them was officially a ranker.

Arceede was assigned as a Rank F Adventurer and Avia as a Rank D Appraiser.

"Right, we got a sense and notification when someone appraised an object. Here check it."

Avia was focusing his eyes on Arceede after he said that.

"Yeah, I get it. I got a feeling when you inspected me. It's like a goosebump out of nowhere."

"True, it is just that you can't confirm the goosebump."

"Yeah, and there is a thing that annoyed me."

"What is it?"

Two of them were following a marked location on the map. A lot of people could be seen in plain brown cloth.

They were walking in the direction of most of the 'new visitor' appeared.

"Don't you think that your class might be one of the most needed?"

"Because of the appraisal skill? Nah, it won't. Every [Linker] can obtain it actually. It is just that this is the basic skill of my class."

"I see. So, does every party need 1 [Linker]?"

"To check the monster stats? Pfft, that's naive."

Avia shrugged while having an arrogant expression on his face.

"We cleared it with only the two of us, you forgot?"

"That's me. Not the appraisal skill, right?"

"I.. agree. But that's not my point."

They delayed the conversation since they have arrived at the marked location.

Some teleportation platforms were on the ground. There were 5 of them that currently actively brought brown colored clothes players to the city.

They entered one of the unused platforms and gradually disappeared from the city.

The circle-shaped platform teleported them to a hunting ground outside the city.

"So, what's the point?"

Avia continued the talk once his vision cleared from the blue colored particles.

"Isn't the appraisal skill too special?"

"Hey, starts from now, weapons and armor will have durability? How about blacksmith and tailor then? Won't that class will be more special than mine?"

Arceede was processing what he just got for a few seconds.

They were walking further from the platform. The hunting ground they've been teleported in was called Salvar Wasteland Area.

Arceede has gathered information about the hunting area and chose this area as their first playing ground.

The place was inhabited by a lot of hard-skinned reptilians and famous for the elemental salamander.

He chose this without accepting any bounty from the adventurer guild and just having a casual hunt.

"So, let me rephrase it. Do we need at least one civilian at a party?"

"Maybe, the trailer said so after all."

Since they've walked quite far, monsters have appeared within their range of attack.

Monsters' basic details shown to the players were the same as in the first village. Name and rarity.

The difference here in the mainland was that monsters would have colors represented them. The darker it was, the bigger the level gap between players and the monster.

That was the information they got from the adventurer guild.

A salamander bigger than the two human's combined was walking alone.

"That's orange. Wanna try?"

Avia was asking the adventurer beside him. Based on the color of the name, the salamander was far stronger and considered too dangerous to them.

Well, based on the guild's information, this Salvar Wasteland was recommended for level 20 or above and this salamander level of threat was normal.

"Yeah let's just try it since it's alone anyway."

The salamander had a beige skin color and looked so sturdy.

Shuu.

A projectile came from Arceede's crossbow and flew towards the salamander.

"Damn, it's so tough."

"How's it?"

"You barely scratched it."

"Damn."

"You won't be able to-"

Abruptly, the salamander rushed to them and already so close to them.

Both of them dodged the attack well amidst the sudden movement.

"Won't be what?"

"Even with all your mana, it looks like you can't reduce it to 50%."

"Okay, split."

They split into two opposite directions. The salamander was distracted but still going to the Arceede's direction, the one who hit it before.

"Shit!"

Arceede cursed because of an unexpected attack coming from the salamander.

The salamander spat out a boulder from a thin air in front of the salamander's mouth.

"I thought only its body that was implied by the name. I didn't expect it!"

"Haha. The salamander is so cool honestly."

Avia was laughing while rushing in his companion's direction.

The name shown on the basic detail was 'Boulder Ground Salamander'. Arceede has expected that the body was made from boulder-like material but seemed like the salamander was not that simple.

The two humans were running in a circle track and met after a certain time.

Salamander who was following Arceede spat a boulder after a certain time. It looked like there was a cool down between each boulder.

The boulder was coming behind Arceede and Avia with a gesture on his face made them took a slight change into two directions and made the boulder missed.

Avia who was running in the salamander's direction took out his spear and tried to attack the salamander's eye.

"Ugh nasty."

Arceede who has turned back to the salamander's direction cringed by the attack.

"Try the other eye."

The attack landed successfully but the damage was expected since the one who made it was Avia.

But, it opened a free hit opportunity for the crossbowman who came closer.

"It dealt double the amount. I will try another spot and find more weakness."

Arceede from the right side was attacking the right eye of the salamander with his crossbow. Avia, on the other hand, was attacking different and many body parts.

"Wow, you guys are top-notch1 That was really amazing!"

The loud voice followed by applause made the two humans interrupted what they were currently doing.

They stepped away from the salamander and regroup while maintaining the battle stance.

"Ah-ah sorry for that. I don't mean to interrupt you guys." The voice was apologizing hastily.

"You..?" Arceede squinted his eyes while looking at the voice's direction.

"Do you know her?" Avia asked him.
