6 CHAPTER 6: SPARRING
" The Fantasy World "
" Yep. The Fantasy World "
" Really? "
" Yes, boss. Please, Believe me. "
This would be the hundredth time Edward answered the same question with the same answer. He pleaded Taylor to believe him with a teary eye,
" Believe me, boss. This is what my cousin said to me. According to her, this game will be released in four months and within a short time, it is expected to be a massive hit. She is a pro gamer, boss. This information about the game, she got this from a top-secret network for gamers."
Seeing that Taylor is listening to him with full attention, he said,
" Actually it's a top-secret project done by ZEON company's research team. Less than 50000 people know about this project in the total world. Think about the scale of this project, boss. She only slipped it to me because I explained to her for three hours straight about my pain. At last, she gave away this news. Do you know how hard it was for me."
" I believe you, Fatty"
said Taylor with a horror look. His inner monologue is,
' I don't know how hard it was for you, but all I know is, your cousin is something great, to hear your ramblings for 3hours, she must be an iron lady. I worship her'
' But is this the same Fantasy World, the mechanical voice told me to enter. How am I gonna merge both the ki's in a game and break the seal it said about. Is all my one-month struggle answer a game.'
" Thanks, boss. Actually, there is a reason why I selected this game. Think if we enter a game that is already popular, there will be a lot of high-level players. We can't bully anyone, only we will be bullied. So the reason I selected this game is that its a new game and we are newbies too, so it will be great. We can level up faster and bully everyone." there was an evil grin in Edward's face.
"I knew you were an evil being all along," said Taylor with a smile.
"Boss. I'm saying the truth, It will be definitely fun. We have to do it. We have to f**k up every noob"
Taylor felt a heavy power emitting from Edward when he said that.

Next day
Cheetah is one of the popular car brands in this world owned by Edward's family. They are manufactures of 'Limited Editions' custom made cars. The cars made by them are mainly focused on the customers, whose priority is luxury.
One of those luxury cars is now parked in front of Taylor's house.
"Cheetah L-1357i limited blue, which has a speed of 300 mph/500 kph. Wow, fatty. You are starting to live your life"
said Taylor looking at the car driven by Edward.
"Boss. Since we are manufacturing cars, I have the right to pick up a car after every time a batch of limited cars is out."
said Edward with a gleeful look. But his inward thoughts were,
'actually, this car was presented by my grandpa after I said about my pains to him for 8 hours.....hehe... Showing off is always great.'
Looking at the gleeful look on Edward's face, Taylor cracked his knuckles.
"Let's go to the nearest MMA gym, shall we"
Suddenly Edward felt a cold shiver run down his spine.
'What is this feeling, all of a sudden'.

They arrived at a nearby MMA gym in Edward's car.
" Boss, this is the biggest one around here".
The gym they are going to enter is occupying about 3000sq.ft.
The name of the gym is Dragons MMA.
They opened the door and entered the gym's hall, there sat a man around his 30's in the reception desk. He had achieved tremendous work out to the body, muscles are ripped out everywhere. Taylor walked towards him and asked,
"Is there any MMA ring free?"
The man at the desk is Nick an army retired combatant. He is the manager of this gym and he has seen rich kids like Taylor and Edward, who come to showoff here. But when you see them fight, half of them are pussies. The other half fights without any substance. So he didn't have much respect towards these rich kids.
" why, gonna fight? "
" Yes, just sparring," told Taylor.
Hearing that Nick just smirked and stood up from his seat,
" Follow me"
saying that he walked to the end of the corridor of the long hall. While walking towards the corridor end, Taylor saw that there are about 20 MMA rings.
People are fighting in some MMA ring, some are training alone while others are cheering around the rings. When he reached the end of the corridor, Nick showed the ring that was super old in his right side towards the corner,
" go play in there"
saying that he walked away.
Looking at the back of Nick who is walking away, both Taylor and Edward made an awkward smile. After looking at each other they entered the stage.
The referee of the match is a 3d robot hologram.
" what type of match do you prefer?"
asked the robot as they entered the stage.
"Just sparring," said Taylor.
" Sparring match begins in"

Start...
at the end of the voice of the robot.
Both Taylor and Edward moved at the same time.
Taylor threw a punch with his right fist aiming at Edwards's chest. While Edward's right fist punch is aimed at Taylor's abdomen.
Just as they thought their fists hit the target, they only felt air pass through their fist.
Both their speed is evenly matched, so neither of them hit their target.
Next Taylor's left fist passed through Edward's abdomen, while Edward left fist passed through Taylor's head. They could only hit each other's afterimage.
The spar exchange continued for about five mins, still, not a single hit was landed.
As the people around the nearby rings saw the speed of their fight, some started to gather around their stage,. Soon their ring became crowded. Even some people started cheering them.
After about 10mins the whole MMA was crowded around their stage.
But both Taylor and Edward didn't care about them.
Since they know little slip will be gifted with a heavy fist of the other.
" Boss, I'm gonna use my ki," said Edward to which Taylor replied, "Okay, come faster."
As Edward activated his ki, there was a blue hue around his leg which helped for a sudden increase in his speed.
Detecting the ki and increase in Edward's speed, Taylor used the movements arts he learned in the dream space, which increased his dodging speed.
'White Tiger shadow step - increases agility'
After 10 mins of fist exchange, they stopped their spar, both of them exhausted.
" As expected of the boss, even after using ki, I couldn't beat you," said Edward breathing heavily.
" Fatty! don't blow here, you also didn't use your full power" hearing the praise of Edward retorted Taylor.
What Taylor said is true, Edward didn't use ki in his fists. If he used ki then his punches would have been faster, which could be hard to dodge. Taylor would have been in a disadvantaged position.
The same goes for Taylor, he only used White Tortoise fist art that is a balance of attack and defense. If he used Black Dragon fist art that is oriented towards attack and speed. It would have been a sure hit.
" Match ends" shouted the robot, sensing that there are no fighting movements inside the ring.
Only after hearing the robot's sound did the people around the stage came to their senses...
Clap... Clap... Clap...
Everyone showed their appreciation for the two guys clapping approximately a minute.
Seeing the crowds praise both Taylor and Edward showed a shy expression on their faces, after everything they are just sixteen years old.
When both of them exited the gym, manager Nick looked at them with admiration. It's not that he is weaker than them or the people around here don't use ki or weaker than them. There are half the people in the world that uses ki. But the reason is they are only 16 years. Having this much battle powers at such a young age is something shocking, even for a martial freak like him.

That day night
Two old men were sitting in a room and watching the spar match of Taylor and Edward in a 3d hologram. One old man was fat, while the other was lean.
The fat old man asked,
" Why don't you teach your grandson, your ki cultivation technique?"
The other old man replied,
" His meridians are blocked. I tried everything, but no use. You know my son-in-law, even he can't find a solution"
The fat old man is Edward's grandfather Frankston looking at George, he said,
" The world is undergoing great changes. In the Froka Ocean, the spiritual level is raising and sea creatures are having mutations. Talents are needed."
George looked intently on Taylor's face in the hologram and said,
" I just hope for a miracle would happen."
