20 CHAPTER 20: ALPHA - DARK WOLF

Taylor stood up from the ground, even though his outward wounds are healed due to the effects of medium level healing potion. His mind is exhausted.

"Getting bitten by the wolf that is a head taller than you is not a good feeling"

In the past years, during his fights with the black and white clones, he had been wounded a lot. Even his arms and legs were ripped off. But he could balance that pain. Because in that plane there is no blood. Even when his arms get dismembered, there won't be any blood. It didn't feel real.

But the pain he felt now is so real. He still felt itchy on the place, where Wolf's fang entered. And looking at the blood, made his body cold.

Taylor pulled out his spear from the wolf corpse and took the whole Wolf body into his inventory. And said to Edward,

"Take the Wolf body, let's dismember it afterwards"

Edward too took the Big Coast Wolf into his inventory and got ready for the battle.

But as the steps they heard got nearer, the pressure they felt became heavier.

'That Scarlette Wolf was level 6 and didn't emit this much pressure. It has to be a level 7 beast. Going to be a hard fight'

Taylor thought of something suddenly,

'Wait to be able to control that level 6 beast, it has to be at least a level 8 beast. A level 7 beast can't easily subdue a level 6'

Taylor said,

"Fatty let's log out"

Then he shouted to Edward,

"Fatty, run. Let's escape from here"

Edward asked,

Edward looked at Taylor for a second.

Then he turned and bolted towards the entrance of the cave.

Taylor looked baffled,

' I never knew he was this fast'

Then Taylor also-ran to the entrance of the cave.

When they are just about to reach the entrance. They heard a howl that almost blasted their eardrums. Since this was a cave, it amplified the noise.

Influenced by instinct they turned and saw the beast behind them, at the other end of the cave.

The beast was a Wolf. It is a head shorter than the Scarlet Wolf. But it's body muscles are ripped. Its fur is black in colour. The wolf has a terrifying aura around it, black smoke out from its jaws.

"Fatty, we will run to the cave faster. If we enter deep into the tree it can't enter. "

Taylor said toward Edward and started to run.

They can hear the Dark Wolf's heavy steps, its legs were filled with power. Every step it took, made dust to rise from the ground.

The tree cave they stayed is a thick tree. If ten people's stood around and formed the circle, it would be the tree's trunk size, a perfect safe house.

'Tree cave is deeper into the trunk. But the entrance is smaller, so the Wolf can't reach them, once we escape there. That is the only safe area. Unless it's a level 10 beasts villagers said, that can easily smash trees like that'

that's what Taylor thought.

But the Dark Wolf reached them faster. It was faster than them. Before they could reach the tree cave, the Dark Wolf jumped and stood before the tree cave. It blocked their escape route.

Taylor processed the situation and said,

"Fatty, I will take the left side and you take the right side. let's separate and escape. We will meet at the village if we escape and live."

Finishing off what he wanted to tell he got separated from Edward and ran on the left side.

"Okay. Boss... "

Replied Edward as he ran on the right side.

Looking at its prey escaping in two different directions, the dark Wolf let out a big howl and chased Edward.

Taylor looked back as the wolf chasing after Edward who was faster than him.

'Wow. My luck is turning for good'

"Fatty, your sacrifice won't be in vain. I will avenge you"

Shouting those words he ran towards the village.

'If I reached level 9 that is. Dark wolf is too much to handle'

But he didn't run straight to the village. But took several turns to avoid being chased, concealing his trails.

As he ran for five minutes zig-zag' ly, a message popped out.

{ Your teammate Edward's hero died.}

Seeing that Taylor was shocked,

'Poor Fatty died...'

Taylor increased his speed, but still after about 6 minutes, he heard a Wolf howl behind him. He knew what is happening,

'That damn wolf killed fatty and chasing me. '

'Even after I took several turns, it found me easily. So even I have to start two days penalty with fatty. '

Even though he couldn't outrun it, Taylor didn't want to die easily. So he kept on running. He increased his running speed by adding mana into his legs. But still, the Wolf got to him.

Taylor could hear a wolf howl right behind his ears. Heavy pressure clouded him.

Taylor took out his spear from his back. And kept on running forward to a tree in front of him. He didn't look back, but he could sense that Dark Wolf was right behind him. He is gonna die any moment from its attack.

Still, he ran forward without turning back. Because there he saw a thick tree about 20 feet before him.

'I still have hope. '

But behind him, the Dark Wolf opened its jaws and jumped towards him.

Taylor also jumped at the same time toward the tree. He flew 20 feet in the air and caught the tree branch that was 200cm above the ground with his left hand.

Taylor used his momentum to make a full round roll like a gymnastic on the branch. And then he let go of his hand on the branch. Upon which he flew in the air up above the Dark Wolf's head.

In the air, Taylor twisted his body facing the Dark Wolf in the air. He holds his spear by both the hands and using the force he got from the tree branch, Taylor thrust down the spear straight into the Dark Wolf's skull.

CRACK...

CRASH...

As Taylor spear cracked Dark Wolf's skull and killed it. It crashed straight into the tree in the front with Taylor pinned in between.

Bang...

The tree broke in half as the Wolf crashed in it. Debris started to fly.

Taylor was now stuck in between the dead Wolf and tree debris. His health was about 5%. But it still kept on decreasing.

Taylor tried to move, but he was stuck. So Taylor accepted the dead wolf's body into his inventory.

After that, Taylor fell down as his face hit the ground.

Ouch...

'Damn, my legs are fully broken. '

Below his neck, his total body was mangled.

'Thank god, since both my hands are safe. '

Ahh

As Taylor used both hands on holding the spear. His hands escaped from the crash.

'I got 'GOLD BERG SPHERE ' from a Gaint Wolf. '

Reckoning about his near-death experience, he took out low-level health potions from his inventory and drank it.

His health raised to 20%.

'Well I live'

But then he felt sudden danger. Before he could react, he was kicked by bigfoot from his side. That hit made him fly and crash down 20 feet away. Before knowing what hit him, he died.

Taylor closed his eyes.

When he opened his eyes again.

He still stood in the same place he died.
