I've never been able to see it

I never wanted to see it,

Cause when I did, I never liked what I saw.

I watched as my friends found their people.

I watched them fall in love with life.

I watched them no longer want me

But I watched with a smile, encouraging them to be happier.

Encouraging them to be themselves.

Pretty hypocritical, I know.

I never liked my future.

Until you showed up.

Now, I can't stop thinking about my future,

With you.

The memories I want to make with you, like

Ice skating for the first time together, or

Teaching you how to skateboard, or

Movie nights listening to you tell me which characters we don't like, or

Late-night talks and laughing until our stomachs hurt.

Now, I can't wait for my future,

My future with you.
