Surya shook his arm away from Veer's grasp and opened his lips, but before words could come out, Asawari's calm voice drifted in once more, "It must be the prince of the five kingdoms. The sword is his, and it requires a might blessed by spirits."

The dog exhaled loudly before looking away, and Surya moved towards his sword, eventually putting both his hands around the hilt in a tight grip. He then twisted the blade, moving the metallic slit along. For a moment, there was absolute silence. Then the apparatus started to rattle and clink, its wheels spinning against one another and its chains moving in tandem, pulling the gears along. The turn of one wheel made the adjacent ones turn too, and soon, the entire apparatus moved in synchrony.
