5 5. Getting settled in

Zino does not notice anybody trailing him from the slave traders building and continues to walk home without stopping. The kids tailing behind are now less nervous and are looking around at the city as they get closer to getting to Zino's house. The exception to this is Sarah as she knows how misleading and horrible rich people can be.

[We finally made it back to my house, getting around the traffic was one of the reasons why it took me so long to get back home.]

"Alright kids welcome to your new house until you are old enough to be able to take care of yourselves. Follow I will show you to your rooms."

[Guess I will just put them all in one room until they ask me for their own room.]

Zino walks around and takes the kids to their room that is next to his and has a bathroom across the hall.

"Okay this is where you all will be staying. If you want your own room than tell me.

Ok that's that follow me now."

Zino walks to the front and sits on the seat in the living room.

The kids arrive in front of Zino and shiver thinking about what Zino is going to do next.

"It is rude to ask, but what is the reason you bought us." Sarah said while looking Zino in the eyes.

"Reason, I just wanted to raise some kids on my own and I don't know everything hence the reason you were purchased with them Sarah. So don't worry you are not slaves in this house just my kids that I will raise to the best of my abilities."

Zino seeing that the kids are not shaking as much started to show a small smile on his face.

"I will not be getting rid of the slave seal yet. I don't want to get you kids in trouble or to look suspicious. I have some old clothes for you to wear, so you all can take a bath and then change, then we will go to the market to get some clothes for everybody."

Zino pulls out sets of clothes for everybody but only undergarments for the males.

"When you kids get out of the shower I will have some food waiting on the table to start lunch."

All the kids shuffled to the bathroom and Sarah helped them get undressed.

POV Sarah

[I used to be a noble but my parents made some mistakes and the noble house fell. After some men took me and sold me to a slave caravan that was passing by.

I know how bad nobles and rich people can be to slaves because while I was with the caravan the slaves that would be sold back had scars and Mark's and had dead eyes that looked done with life.

So when me and the kids that I was comforting and helping where brought to the room by the clerk I was scared that I would lose one of my younger siblings.

But when the guy said he would purchase all of us I was scared about what would happen but decided to take the leap and hope for the best.

From where we are now after being told to take a shower I can see that it was most likely a worthwhile risk, but I can't be so sure just yet give it a month and if nothing happens then I won't worry about it.]

POV Mc

[The kids have gotten out of the shower and I have just finished making a light lunch because something to heavy after being fed just enough to live is not healthy for the body.

I found out the hard way when I was about 20 years old in the monster hunter world.

I was chased by angry ratholos parent on the quest to bring back a azure ratholos egg back to the guild to inspect and examine to figure out what is the cause of the sub-species.

I had to abandon the egg and just make a run for it the parents chased me until I put the egg down and the ratigan stayed back and the azure ratholos chased me for about 6 hours then he was to far from the quest.

I had a compass so I had known where the guild was but I can't endanger the guild because only a few people are strong enough to handle a ratholos as long as they are with a group.

So I couldn't just go back to the base because the ratholos was still waiting on me to move back to the area he was guarding.

I was surprised because that was some very unusual behavior from a ratholos he did not go eat or sleep just stood there waiting for me.

So I had some food to sustain for 2 days but that was it. So after about 2 weeks of waiting on me to leave the ratholos finally decided to give up. I was a little weak because a week and a half without food and being on edge that allowed for little sleep was tiring so I made it back to the guild after about 2 days of walking a foraging bit I did not have enough strength to even swing, shoot or reload my weapons that I had on me so killing was a no go.

I made it back and reported then had a hearty meal but the food did not want to be digested and it just came right back up sure I was not out long enough to starve to death but not eating anything or really moving much is dangerous.

I had not even used my ability to assimilate dead monsters yet because I only wanted the best of the beat and to build up my foundation so that I can know how to fight.]

PAHH PAHH!

"What was that."

[All the kids where in front of me watching me with Sarah standing next to me.]

"So Sarah why did you slap me."

"You where in a daze for five minutes since we came."

"You could have just called my name you know."

"We tried." Sarah had said with a ghastly expression after finally realizing what she had just did.

The kids seeing Sarah tremble a little all got in front of her and looked at me with a look that said they would do anything to protect their big sister.

Seeing this made my heart melt.
