Hunter guild

Only after Vee walked out did a few people pay attention to him as some young girls stared at him with lovestruck expressions on their faces, they were barely stopping themselves from rushing up to him to strike up a conversation.

It couldn't be helped, despite Vee changing his appearance to look less attractive and his ordinary clothes, his current look was still not something these young and inexperienced girls could ignore.

'I wonder just what would happen if I were to come out with my real appearance' Vee shook his head as he walked past the girls, not paying them any attention; after all, even amongst mages, not a lot of people could compare to him in terms of looks.

Vee ignored all the girls who stared at him with burning gazes, some even tried talking to him but he didn't even glance at them.

Feeling slightly annoyed by their constant pestering, Vee flipped the hoodie over his head and slightly covered his face; this did not stop people from staring at him but it at least reduced it.

He walked for a few minutes before finally stopping in front of a building, it was a skyscraper that was more than a hundred meters tall with over fifty floors.

Vee could see a lot of hoverbikes and private hovercars parked around the building, a lot of people flooded in and out of the building through the glass door that would open on its own whenever someone stepped near it. Two huge men in guard uniforms stood on both sides at the entrance of the building.

Vee noticed at a glance that most of the people who entered and exited the building were mages, the same was true for the two guards who were guarding the front of the building; it was to be expected since this building was also Vee's target for coming out here.

Vee raised his head and stared at the huge billboard that displayed the words…

ROYAL HUNTER GUILD!!!!

This was the guild under the Royal Magic Academy of the southern continent and Vee was here to join.

It wasn't because he hadn't joined a guild before, of course as a mage who had lived for so long Vee had joined a guild back in the northern continent a long time ago and had since become a diamond rank hunter. But now it was different, he would not be able to use his old hunter identity to have fun…ahem, to accept missions as he would expose himself by doing that which would be very stupid.

"Hmm, which rank should I settle for this time?" Vee mumbled to himself as he walked towards the building.

" Stop!"

The two guards stopped Vee when he got close enough and walked towards him.

" Hey, kid. What's your business here?" One of the guards asked.

Vee stared at him, this guard was a middle-aged man with a beards and a scar that ran from his ear to his jaw.

'A Nebula rank mage? Not bad' Vee commended inwardly. Even in the academy, Nebula rank mages were third-year students as well as the threshold of the general mage trend. Getting into the mage king rank was the difficult part which most mages never managed to cross.

Having two Nebula-rank mages as guards was not something that every organization could accomplish, Vee was quite impressed. It would cost an organization a lot of resources to keep a mage that was above the Noble rank as a guard since such strength could easily earn that mage a better job elsewhere.

"Kid, didn't you hear me? What are you looking for here? Not just anyone can enter here even if it's a guild" the second guard snapped at Vee when he did not answer after a few seconds.

"I'm here to join the Royal Hunter guild," Vee said calmly before slowly letting out a burst of energy that was equal to a Nebula rank mage.

"What…you!!" The guards were about to chase Vee away when the energy burst pushed them back. Their eyes widened as they stared at Vee in shock.

The two of them had been stuck at the Nebula mage rank for so long and had already given up on trying to break through, they knew just how difficult it was to get to this point.

But this pretty-faced plainly dressed kid who looked to be only in his twenties was already in the same rank as them! What did it mean? It meant that Vee was from an extraordinary background!

"Please forgive our attitude just now, young mister. You should know that not just anyone can come here so we had to be cautious" The two guards quickly apologized, they were afraid that Vee was from a mage family and would call his seniors because they bullied him. Even the Royal Hunter guild would not be able to save them then since they were merely guards.

"Mm" Vee simply nodded before walking past them and heading for the door, he did not hold their actions against them since he had better things to do and could not deal with them right now.

Sgreeee!

The glass door slid open and Vee walked through.

Meanwhile, the two guards stared at his back till the door slid closed again and they wiped the sweats off their foreheads.

"Good thing this one isn't like those arrogant young mages, we would have been in serious trouble," the guard with a scar said, his back had been drenched in cold sweat after discovering that a young lad like Vee was a mage. Although mages were not common sights here in the capital, they were not like cabbages either and were not found everywhere on the streets.

"Who would have known that he was a mage? Most mages his age would always have an air of arrogance around them and would dress lavishly that you can tell at a glance!" The other guard said in response, a look of relief in his eyes as he stared at the closed door.
