188 Chapter 188

Someone had already had the kindness of heart to set up my tent for me next to my cart. Tim the horse was already asleep on his feet, head hanging between his forelegs. My chickens were quiet, and I worried about what they had eaten during the day. Milly had told me she'd be bringing them some kitchen scraps in return for their eggs, such as potato bits that couldn't be cooked and the like, but I worried that wouldn't be enough. I had wanted to spread the word to the caravan's children to catch bugs for the chickens, but I couldn't think of what to give the kids in return other than a break from their boredom or maybe an egg.

Inside my tent my bed stuffs had been lazily rolled out, which was enough for me. I settled down on my hands and knees to start my prayer to my brother, asking him to help me find a medicine for Arthur the wind magician, then listened for that warmth in the back of mind. But, for once, I felt nothing, and the absence sent a shiver down my spine.
