17 Surprise

I keep an eye on the man after that. I can't help it I keep getting the feeling that he has a reason for being here beyond simply having 'a good thing going here' as he said. I am officially two weeks late and thinking I should probably take a pregnancy test but am kinda scared to. I mean I don't think I even have the gust to buy it!

"Good morning, little sister!" Ruby calls in a game show host voice as she enters the kitchen where I've been contemplating my life over a plate of scrambled eggs.

"Hay Ruby, and little Felice." I greet her and her little baby. They called her a boy right up to her birth. A plesent surprise for Alic who wanted a niece. Scary for Malak who is terrified of raising a girl.

"Soooo... when are you buying the test?" She asks and my jaw drops. Is she a seer too!? How did she know what I'm thinking about?

"What test?" I ask trying to seem ignorant.

"You still have a crummy poke face... you are acting the same way I did when I thought I was pregnant... here, go pee on a stick." Ruby orders as she hands me a box.

It feels like an hour before my timer goes off telling me the test is done. I grab my phone and silence it but can't bring myself to look at the stick.

"If you aren't going to look let me in and I will." Ruby says from outside the door. I sware that woman must be part seer or a psychic or something. She always knows what I'm thinking. I unlock the door and she comes in.

"Looks like Felice has a cousin." She smiles down at me where I sit on the bathroom floor.

"Really!" I jump up and grab the test. Sure enough it's positive. "I gotta tell Alic!"

"My baby brother is having a baby! Ohhh, sorry sis, your life is over for a few months. I thought Malakai was protective but I'll bet Alic is worse. The whole Alpha King thing. He probably won't let you lift two pillows at the same time." She laughs.

"Maybe I shouldn't tell Alic yet then." I say.

"Shouldn't tell me what?" His deep voice says as he steps into the open doorway. He looks at my hand and smiles. "Is that? Is it? Am I?... I'm gonna be a Dad!" He looks excited and scared to death all rolled into one. "You need to sit down! Have you eaten? Do you want some water? Have you seen the pack doctor yet? How far along are you? You should put your feet up. I'll link Doc Green. No don't walk I'll carry you to the couch." He rambles scooping me up in his arms before I can respond.

"Now stay here I'll get you a snack. Doc is on his way." Alic says as he sets me on the couch and props up my feet before running to the kitchen.

"Get comfortable, girl. I don't see you moving off that couch any time soon." Ruby tells me as she enters the room. "I'm gonna go before he completely loses it." She grins abandoning me to my currently psychotic mate.

"Hello, Luna Queen." The Doc greets me as he enters the moment Ruby leaves.

"Hay Doc... you know I'm good but I think Alic needs a chill pill can you prescribe that?" I ask only slightly joking.

"Okay so I ordered you a special pregnancy pillow and some new slippers. And I got pickles and icecream because isn't that what women crave when pregnant? Anyway I ordered a couple books and the milker things for breast feeding and bottles and this sterilizer thing for them and..." I decide to cut Alic off not being able to handle another rant.

"Did you just say milker things?" I ask and he starts to blush.

"Yea... you know for you to put on your... boobs... to get the milk." He says practically whispering boobs like a little boy as his face flames and he scratches the back of his neck.

"Its called a pump not a milker and I won't need it for a while. Calm down Alic. We have time. Plus Ruby can help. She is a few months ahead of us. Now calm yourself or I'll have Doc here sedate you." I tell him. You'd think he was raised in the woods with how little he seems to know. Of course I'd be clueless too if it weren't for Ruby.

"Yea, yea okay, I can calm down... what do we need to do doc?" Alic asks panting from his near panic attacks.

"You, my dear Alpha King, need to breath. Our Luna is doing well. Here are some vitamins and other than that you can live life normally. No alcohol and make sure your food is fully cooked... in other words no sushi... but honestly until the pup gets a bit bigger you can do just about anything you feel like. Your body will tell you if it's to much." The Doc tells us.

"Hear that? I'm fine." I say standing up. Alic growls and has me sit back on the couch. I roll my eyes and look to the doctor.

"Stress is bad for the pup right?" I ask knowing the answer.

"True." The doc agrees.

"Alic, you are stressing me out! Let me walk or you are hurting our pup." I tell him.

"Fine!" He growls sitting himself on the couch. "Can't a mate and father be worried about his family?" He mutters to himself crossing his arms and I can't help but hug him.

"You can... but within reason, yea? Please don't put me on bedrest just yet. Their will be plenty of time for you to fuss over me but we're not there yet. Let's enjoy the time when I can do stuff on my own." I tell him.

"Soooo... you can do anything?" He asks with a mischievous grin.

"She can... but on that not I'm gonna leave. Have a good day Alpha, Luna." The Doc dismisses himself as I turn five shades of red.

"Come on, mate, let's go celebrate." Alic says picking me up and kissing my neck.

Well I can't get any more pregnant.
